Underground rivers unsettle thoughts,
feelings on stable ground.

Real estate doesn’t sound as real
with thoughts of hyporheic flow
beneath our feet,
out of sight and sound.

Rivers are meant to have light on top,
transparency.
Underground flow must look more like a furtive capillary
than an upfront tributary,
bringing salvific moisture
down into and across and through
deep ecological roots of fertility.

Hypostatic unions
are contrasts between understory backgrounds
emerging into focal foreground,
like darkness of night’s flowing complexities
from which light emerges each day
then fades again,
like Yang creation stories
emerging from Yin
hypostatic partnering,
hyporheic flow
deep down within ecological consciousness,
subterranean channels
feeding timeless roots
of healthy real estates,
cooperative becoming.

Dangerous Cowards

There was an earlier time
that came to mind
this day I heard dangerous fears and angers
called cowardice instead,
back 200 years ago
in the United States,
when Northern industrialists,
relying on southern cotton
to mill fabrics
clothing cotton-picking slaves
and other whiter folks,
joined Southern slave-owners
to refer to Abolitionists
as cowards.

Moral cowards
for threatening Orthodox ecopolitical viability
as it was misunderstood
in that 200 year old time and place.

Naming radicalized revolutionaries
Cowards
might provoke despair
to further points of violence against innocents,
the non-bullies of democratic process,
majority rule,
but will not dissuade inpatient intolerance
of their view
that what we say of them
is what we, in fact, are.

Whether this radicalized voice and action
is to Abolish further violence,
further buying and selling of sacred nature
further hubris of owning what can only be gifted,
borrowed through mutual consent,
or to Abolish established inclusive democratic peace,
makes all the morally healthy difference.
Yet, in either case,
whether healthy or pathological radicalization,
naming the Abolisher a coward and a fool
needing to be stamped out
will merely spread this nascent revolution
toward further violence growing higher boundaries
to hopes for cooperative sanity.

When we look behind the normal public tour
of terrorist acts and actors,
the rhetorical reviews and guided stories
most frequently told,
we are likely to find a long familiar risk
to public health;
variations on cultures of patriarchal abuse,
matriarchal neglect,
and desecration of RightBrain ecopolitical equivalence.

For this reason, if no other,
choosing emasculating words
like cowardly and disloyal
and unfaithful,
is a choice to notice only deception
while revolutionary inception festers into flowering
further blasts of suppressed anger
hyped up hate
furthering Earth’s climates
of pathological fear.

In PermaCulture Design
we have orthodox healthy outcome trends
which we call polycultural development,
and we have decompositional unhealthy outcomes,
when life does not go as integrally planned,

ManicDepressive Climates

Depression is like dying
without hope this process will end well,
without remediation
at least not for my closely held ego-identity,
and despair
this turning inward
creates a cocoon by avoiding outward.

Focal awareness of ego mortality,
immanent and emanant,
eminent,
turns inward,
returns inward
in despairing response against outward;
the whats and whos of external metaphysical life.

Depression brings tacit fixation on mortality
while advanced notice of irremediable pathologies
brings focal awareness
this is ego’s final stage of turning in,
away from out,
now already on that other side of a great timeless ego-boundary.

Those who die alone,
whether through depression or physical decomposition,
live inside a cloud of memories,
worries and anxieties
within which hope of further actively interdependent relationship,
experience of therapeutic communication,
may evaporate
especially if this is how we have lived apart together.
These alone with worries easily overwhelm
abandoned within our depressed boundaries
against others,
against possibility of natural experience as joy,
wonder
curiosity
compassion
love within further health becoming.

Depression, especially as it grows chronic,
within an individual,
within a played-out political culture,
within a longterm economic trend,
can be accompanied by paranoia.
Fear of turning terminally inward.
Worry that there is nothing inside
still becoming part of outside,
without capacity to influence, effect, affect,
other than to infect with further contagious
anger and depression about isolation
and deprivation,
neglect of healthy relationship,
violent ego-abuse
craving therapies for self-administered escape.

Internal voices become an anxious debate
about over-consuming
and under-producing life.
Not measuring up to original hopes
and intent of co-creating Paradise.

Depression is typically humorless,
especially when accompanied by flights of paranoia.

Humor, whether manically fluid
or dryer, more cool sardonic,
more vulnerably exposing of ego’s childlike dispositions,
and adolescent gender-related predator and prey articulations,
is not accessible from within paranoia’s cocoon
of fear
that ego’s core is empty white cold disassociating noise.

Manic oppression of others
erupts into the geometric opposite view,
what was concave depressed grows convex anger,
even rage.
Ego becomes SuperEco,
equivalent with Earth’s polypathic interdependent
ecopolitically self-justifying powers,
entitlement to terrorizing extremes
to take
to use
to enslave
to exploit
in return against Earth’s profound disappointments
and unfairness suffered in the name of others’ claims for freedom
to own whatever and whomever remains outside Left-your/Right-our
self-identified cocoon of integral becoming.

Love and humor and regenerate faith
lie midway between these two extremes
of manic Yang interdependent ecopolitical empowerment
and negative dualdark Yin,
both depressed for reasons of past mutual oppressions,
and feeling antipathically paranoid
about this great emptiness inside.

Both love and humor
evaporate this great barrier reef
between tragic depression
and comedic obsession
with our overpowering egotistic LeftBrain dominant charm.

Capitalism,
as contrasted with cooperatively co-investing capital,
is in idolatrous tension
with therapeutic roots
of Catholicism
and all forms and rituals of Messianic Saviorism.
Here lies our incapacity
to both serve a regenerative healthy God
and a degeneratively reified,
desacralized,
depressed Mammon,
organic Creation
without nutritional Creator.

Capitalism grows ever more virulently rabid
as my ultimate Win
always and everywhere must be at your Lose expense;
investing in manic ego is my higher priority,
and should be,
in dubious fact,
due to laws of competitive predator nature,
must be above cooperative organic investing
in ecoEarth as holy Other.

Whereas positive faith systems,
including all dialects of Judeo-Christianity and Islam,
Buddhism and Taoism and Hinduism,
teach, and sometimes behave,
following WinWin cooperative Golden Rule
as Original Intent of regenerate Earth
iconized as God
and/or Goddess
and/or Allah
and/or Atman, etc.

So, when we hear,
through our too often depressed
and repressed
and suppressed ears,
that military threat and violent arms
are our ecopolitical first choice
to grow economic freedom away from depression,
we can also hear the satanic voice of Capitalism
growing freedom toward
totalitarian manic monoculturing Yangism.

Capital,
removed from a sacred ecological resource for health co-investment,
becomes degenerative of wealth for interdependent freedoms,

BeNighted EnLightenment

Potawatomi language,
says Robin Wall Kimmerer,
does not verbally divide us into masculine and feminine.
However, unlike most English verbs,
Potawatomi verbs distinguish between animate and inanimate objects.

For example,
we use sit down
when speaking to an unruly son
and set down
when speaking of what we did with a stone
or a book
which the unruly son would never read.

I wonder if there are other ways
we could evolve this distinction
and if it would change how our relationships feel
over sufficient time
spreading across a multiculturing continent
of organic languages
and interdependent species.

I notice my own ways of using becoming,
where others might use being.
“Oh, that’s just your son
being your son”
sounds to me like
“That’s our son still becoming”
whomever he most hopes to become,
or not,
for some mysteriously unmotivated reasons.

It think it was David Bohm
who saw verbs as dynamically emerging and submerging,
diastatically full-bloomed
all the way through to
as static as a rock
appears upon it’s still emerging surface
slowly arriving time’s dynamic change trajectories.

The observation that “Climate change just is”
neither good nor bad in and of itself
becomes “Climate change emerges
and submerges within humanizing consciousness.”

“The current climate pathology trend just is”
becomes bad,
assuming climate health might become therapeutically good,
but what are we going to do?
What are we already in process of becoming?

It, pathology, just hopelessly is.
What right does Chicken Little have
to not deny that our sky is fading?
That’s what sky is.
It fades, every day.
At least for now.
Until it’s gone.
But, like Scarlet,
we’ll think about that tomorrow.
Or maybe we can let the grandkids
worry about what’s left.
Which is a good reason to not have kids…

So, climate pathology
submerges down deeper,
for awhile,
as climate change
equals Business As Usual;
it simply is
dissonance about outstanding hopeless pathologies,
inducing compassion yawns of exhaustion.

But another comparison between Potawatomi
and English is a reverse proportion
between verbs and nouns.
First Nation languages grow weighted toward dynamic becoming
and un-becoming verbs
as English lists heavily toward more static nouns.

This also reminds me of something David Bohm observed
about verbal functions of nouns
as becoming systems and unraveling systems,
or at least potentially unraveling,
as what becomes
must un-become,
systemically speaking.
For every dynamic
a season.

And, verbing nouns cast this peculiar word “climate”
in a more flowing toward and away from diastatic health
Paradise perspective,
like consciousness inside
climates influence outside
flowing toward healthier days and nights
easier to not do wrong as right
decades and cultures
industries and artifacts
scientific and artistic landscapes,
ebbing toward more dissonant
decaying decadent pathologies
rooted in our denial of what’s coming, yes.

But, more significantly,
continuing support for climate pathology
within a noun-oriented
static reductive LeftBrain frame of mind,
also denies hard empirical evidence of loss accelerating rates
already incurred,
already dynamically melting away,
multicultural disinvestment
becoming a more monoculturally anthropocentric
played-out,
thrown away
rabid
overpopulating “I’ll think about your disappearing kids’ futures tomorrow”
negative dynamic
sad
depressing.

What this superfluity of pessimistic denial fails to claim,
and build upon,
grows our ebb and flow dynamic of consciousness
and climates of imagined and historically remembered health
delineating pathological climate trends
in this our time
as we all struggle to breathe
more cooperatively together.

If we have not become conscious of health
then we cannot define pathological boundaries thereto,
just as we could not have a dynamic verb for benighting
if we had never reached for enlightening.

Theories of relative evolutions
lead developing learners of language and culture
to conclude
“OK, you say benighting climate pathology,
I say enlightened healthy ecopolitical climate,
at least for me and mine.”

Yet there are no LeftBrain contrasts of relativity
if not older RightBrain dipolar comparisons of interelationship
between internally dynamic and dissonant nutritional climates.

between compulsory educational systems

with other human natures
older and younger and about the same age,
same size,
more and less similar gender appreciations
with other cultures and languages
with other foodchain and predative networking species
with our extended families, speaking of predative networks,
our schools and faith communities,
still stuck on predative networks?
our planet,
all facets of Earth sciences and arts,
humanities and inhumanities,
objective delineations and subjective articulations,
outcomes and incoming creolizations
suggesting further nuances,
curiosities,
narrowing tributaries for graceful bilateral canoes
destined forward and back toward
furrowing adventure.

I think I’m paddling right behind you.
It seems less insane
to ask our purposes for education
than our purpose for learning,
especially if we have the subject and objective reversed
and learning is our purpose.

Perhaps growing mental health
rather than insane pathologies
of ingratitude and severance from cooperative natures
might best apply in either case,
of learning health
or teaching wealth acquisition
and co-investing management,

Compulsory learning

Special Suffrage

Since our most recent U.S. Presidential non-selection,
for one thing a Trumpian could not become
is therapeutically presidential,
I have become worried about our democratic suffrage.

Perhaps only mothers, or maybe also fathers,
of kids with special vulnerability needs
should be allowed to vote,
or perhaps each and all allowed to vote,
but only special needs parents to vote twice.

With each vote cast,
whether one or two,
this vote is cast for healthy futures
wealthiest nutrients imaginable
for future generations with increasingly special climate needs.

It may take a special mom,
a compassionately vulnerable dad,
to truly see each child has special needs
to regenerate toward full strength wealth of health
accessible to those born harmed
by an increasingly rabid ecopolitics
of every man for himself
(and also women and children, if and as time allows)
in a Might Makes Triage Right evolving world
of actively distrusting revolutions
between aristocrats who harvest power
and special needs kids
who, by comparison, harvest not,
and never ever will.

Unless, or course,
we might conquer democratic potential
and original intent
by electing candidates whose primary experience
of electoral special needs value

Liberty is not a synonym for ravenous self-determination.

then our pursuit of happiness

happiness through mutually nurturing freedoms.

Selfishly autonomous determination,
articulating as cause for self-justifying violence,
delineating as causes of nationalism’s self-without-other determinations,
is not the original intent of democratic healthy purpose,
is heading toward monoculturing degeneration instead,
the opposite of multiculturing regenerate freedoms
to pursue our mutually optimizing wealth

Beware economists and politicians who speak of growing freedoms
yet remain silent about both personal and public prerequisite investments

Beware of those who advocate your freedom
to self-optimize,

Pursuit of global liberty
is not a safe cover story,

further investing in Earth’s culture of integral wealth.

Elitist pursuits of self-determination
