America First
is a RightWing monocultural intention
currently championed by Trumpians
and Republican Aristocracy of Evangelism
Tea Partiers,
by xenophobic paranoids
and sociopathic fascists,
by the economically blind
deaf
and angry
bigoted
terrified shouters;
just the opposite of dumb,
yet not cooperatively mindful either
of our global polycultural DNA roots
with universal democratic intent
toward international Golden Rules.

First,
“America” does not equal USA.
And America is even more than just North America,
including Central America,
now framed by a RightWing mental-spiritual Wall
against Mexico,
and, as for South America,
as any good Republican Catholic
(which may be a political-religious oxymoron)
or Protestant Evangelical
(which may also be a BadNews/GoodNews oxymoron)
will quickly remind us,
is the Wildly Wrong Hemisphere,
suspiciously socialist,
spiritually ambivalent,
even for a God
who was reputed to love
the entire Earth, equitably,
and is HimHerSelf more of a cooperativist,
in HisHer radically magnanimous love,
than an isolationist,

God does not keep all the best toys
for those awaiting
our long promised,
yet perpetually delayed,
Rapture.

This anciently felt Win-Win Rapture itself
has become more of a monocultural Win-Lose harvest
of pro-life WhiteHat born-agains
who define pro-life quite narrowly
to advocating for yet unborn human life
at risk of abortion,
without mentioning other
politically
and socially
and ecologically
and economically climatic abortions
on their peculiarly NonRapturous Way.

Also at risk of AmericaFirst monoculturalism,
which confines promised Rapture of Earth’s economy
to the competitive supremacy
of U.S. Trumpian BusinessAsUsual Elites,
the big and fat OnePercent
of our global colonizing US wealthy persons,
investing heavily in AmericaFirst policies,
which,
if more honest,
would be called
Top 1% of U.S. First and Last
PatrioticWinners v MatrioticLosers.

AmericaFirst
is a sugar-sweet way of saying
“The rest of y’all don’t matter.”

This is not the long promised Christian Rapture
of strong and healthy polyculturing democracy
as might possibly have been hoped for
by Constitution signing ForeFathers
born of more ecologically sound ForeMothers,
perennial gardeners and organic farmers
who were not, themselves,
particularly enamored of the top aristocratic OnePercent
in their 99% American nation-building immigrant time.

AmericaFirst
like all monocultural elitist intentions
and political investments,
forgets that economic and political walls,
once built,
work both ways,
and work against polycultural health
of economies
and political democracy of energy,
and positive nutrition ourselves,
ecology of global health care giving
and good Rapturous ecstatic climate receiving,
even for the Elite 1% of U.S. aristocracy,
and their potential 7th Generation grandchildren.

AmericaFirst
is aggressively rooted
in an inhumane replacement
of sacred restorative healing,
democracy’s inclusive vocation
of One Nation UNDER a Loving God,
within a LivingGod,
of and for a Positive Healthy PolyCulturing-Outcome God,

Setting aside secularized retributive justice models,
rooted more in God’s divinely-inspired Anger
as also Wrath against those who are too tolerant
of death
for Earth’s NonElite future generations
than actively pro-life of Earth
as iconic of all HerHis sacred forms
and flowing healthywealthy functions
toward regenerating Sacred EarthFirst.

We have no Christian-Republican Rapture on its way
if and when AmericaFirst finally arrives,
aborted from Earth’s diverse sacred natures
and cultures
and spirits
and dead on distinctly non-rapturous
anti-conservative of life arrival.

This is not just about climate change;
this AmericaFirst fake-rapture threat
predicts a future of ongoing
degenerative
climate pathology.

AmericaFirst is a punishing pathology
against all;
including the Elite U.S. OnePercent.

According to the Institute for Policy Studies,
already the twenty wealthiest U.S. citizens
have slightly more wealth to share among themselves
than do the lower 50% of U.S. residents,
who,
by the political way,
live disproportionately in RedStates
currently under advancing assault
by hurricanes and floods,
fires and tornadoes,
drought and shrinking aquifers,
chemically saturated rivers
and increasingly barren soil
and uprising polluted oceans.

But, hey,
what the self-inflicted hell;
AmericaFirst, right?
Never mind about Old School
restorative justice and peace,
nutritional polyculturing outcomes,
pro-sacred life
rather than limited to suboptimizing
anti-secularized death,
while supposedly worshipping a God

These are outmoded democratic ideals

And who retains any good faith
in such liberating,

respect for Elite Pharisee Lives
more than Sacred NonElite in HolySpirit collaterally damaged
just war deaths.
Probably not what Jesus had in mind

What my kids too often fail to notice,
and what I am guilty of weighing too lightly,
to avoid timely discernment,
are contrasts in density of opportunity
and toxicity of risks
hidden within our values and disvalues

of economic and political leverage,
to eventually overpower unwanted and mistrusted gifts
of an overly-secularizing
materialistically colonizing
disuniting society;

A national culture degeneratively disanimated,
unmotivated toward healthy-wealth
of restorative opportunities.

Values toward deep ecologically flowing sacred valleys
with dense and complex co-arising co-investments
in compassion
toward coherence,
more inclusively,
intimately,
experientially powerful harmonic
resonant
absorbing
than shallow dissonance,
perhaps because more multiculturally strong-rooted
in MotherEarth Valleys
of organically animated nutrition.

Nutritional density of Valley values
emerge historically rich and deeper,
more effective
than toxically shallow,
and cancerously Mountainous, disvalues
against aggressions
and Lose-Lose retributively over-powering models
sold by capital-invested marketers
for Business As Colonizing Usual,
advocating ever freer markets
but most free for competitive hoarders,

Then I read CEO Trump’s Crippled [Business of] America:
How to Make America [Rich Business] Great Again
by crippling our stronger multiculturing left wing
so it is more anemically shallow in monoculturing lack
of strengthening balance,
with struggling right wing mutual non-violence values
becoming pervasively fractured.

Given this clear choice
between Win-Win Left and Right ecopolitics
and Lose-Lose crippled Right against deeper Left,
I simply could not find much of a balanced choice
between true Earth patriotism
and fake USA-FascistFirst PATRIOTIC JINGOISM
bought and sold by Win-Lose PreMillennial Colonizers

Crippling mendacity

through propaganda
and fake piety,

Healing hope

Telling Stories

While there is no story at all
unless it has at least two sides,
when it comes to ego’s narrative lines
and epic paragraphs,
we have great difficulty in casting ourselves
as other than a one-sided protagonist story,
which others might see as including too much self-indulgent glory.

Winona LaDuke
tells a worship story of the Anishinaabe
defending their sacred home
with support from the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples,
against further mining investments of commodifying Earth antagonists,
represented by the State of Michigan.

This story is about copper mining investors
against people who worship Earth
as sacred Habitat,
Elders of one EarthTribe extending family,
across species,
and back across first dawn of Time.

You have already guessed who is winning.

Why is that?
The quality of our spiritual and ecologically healthy lives
depends on questions
challenging competitive one-sided empowerment assumptions.

But, you are right, I suspect,
if you guessed that both sides are losing.

The RepublicanRuling White evangelical Christian
State of Michigan
ruled against the Anishinaabe
and against their own sacred Scripture
and spiritual experience.
Water and land, they say,
cannot be sacred,
cannot have spiritual development significance
and deep and rich and wide meaning
because a protected place of worship
must be inside a building.

I don’t have a PhD in King James Bible Studies,
but I do have a Master of Divinity degree
from a duly licensed
and officially accredited Christian seminary
in the U.S.
and I’m fairly sure I remember
Christian Worship takes place,
rather uniquely,
in human hearts and minds and bodies,
wherever they might happen to be located
in space and time,
inside, maybe, but, for many,
preferably outside.
Most of the history in the Bible
is outside worship history.

Surely gardens were Eden’s first cathedrals.
Why would the State of Michigan pretend otherwise?

Why would KingJames Bible thumpers
and HellFire prophets,
patriarchal evangelists
and patriotic disciples of God’s omnipresent Love
allow their regulators and legislators
and executives,
acting in their HolyScriptures name,
tolerate such a clear misrepresentation of worship
as taught and lived by JesusChrist,
pretty much outside
and especially sweating blood in gardens
and walking on sacred water?

Why accept such an absurd misconception of worship
without economic or political
or personal or vulnerable question
this is patently absurd one-sided stealing
for money-making redistribution purposes
from spiritually rich to feed toxic desecration
to all residents of Michigan
and Lake Superior
and Turtle Island.

Absurd to confine worship indoors
to anyone
from anywhere
who has had the natural-spiritual experience
of being born
from any sacred matriotic womb

Intolerable rape of Truth
to any healthy Christian
with opportunities
to worship outdoors
while reading Psalms
and Proverbs
and natural-spiritual Sacred Parables
about harvesting grace

What is truly healthy faith

is merely a pale reflection
of truly spiritual experience
derived long before we built buildings
as defensive shelters
against sacred elements

I have known authentically patriotic Christians
to find more freedom worshiping God

as compared to claustrophobia while boxed up inside
binding fear and threat constraints
of evangelically booming buildings
and fundamental absence of spiritual discernment constraints.

Worship, like Wonder,
looks for God’s ReStorative Justice and Peace,
to let go of stuckness
in Retributive Vengeance is DivinePower
over Lake Superior commodification issues
about who and what and where
is most biblically saved
after God’s Word
has spoken first and last outdoor spiritual experiences,
voices of Earth’s sacred natures
and divinely-inspired Great Spirits.

We have developed several economic models
for social justice and injustice.

OldSchool retributive justice,
punishing in fair exchange for offensive sins.

between consumers and producers
of both good and bad relationships,
inevitably to Lose-Lose die
with each ego’s sad mortality.

We have transitional justice
which may be the same thing
as revolutionary redistributive climate justice,
hoping for creolizing peace outcomes,
told through macaronic co-evolving stories.

And, we have New Feminist ReStorative Justice
from the Ego-EcoTherapeutic Schools
of PermaCulturing FirstNation NatureSpirit Design.
Peace Circles
rooted in not merely victimization
and blossoming in not merely criminalization,
but seeking Win-Win restoration
of cooperative trust relationships.

Where secular society ponders what is justice
and injustice,
sacred communities discern healthy faith
from ancient residues of bad faith.

Both secular justice and sacred faith
can be synonymous with nature-spirit trust,
inclusive trust

and in-between mistrust,

when they have known the shame of offending against love,

as Protagonists in a Western InterContinental Patriotic History of Love,
yet recognizing great-grandparents

of Earth’s restorative peace
and therapeutic love

It is in our most vulnerable shame
for lapses in co-passionate love
that we are most likely to therapeutically recover
shared memories of blame,
and active hope to restore love’s balance
more polypathically inclusive next time.

This rhetorical agenda,
for mentoring facilitators,
is their second-mile walk,
their turning of violently struck both cheeks,
their opportunity to offer a time of personal shame
to open double-binding gates
of collective Lose-Lose blame
and it’s ecological apposition,
Win-Win restorative cooperation
of active Love.

Golden Rules
to do as you would have done justice
and not do and judge
as you could not not do without greater co-passion,
active love for Win-Win restoration
of peace councils,
internal and external,
practiced best each moment
of each grace-filling balanced karma day.

Willing and able to see oneself,
and one’s extended family,
as both sacred protagonists
and sinner antagonists
of co-evolving historic love,
fulfilled in HereNow potential health integrity

is littered with remains,
fossils for patriarchal still-burning altars

of traumatic retribution
rather than therapeutic salvation.

Even before nature-spirit polytheists emerged,

within continental forests
held seasonal Earth renewal ceremonies,
water baptism healing circles,
cooperative nutrition networks.

Original forest societies
creolized healthy soil and air and water
rather than colonizing frontiers
with monoculturing missionary zeal

Trees do not need,

to own appropriated property for a good public cause,

to exploit for a better financial return,

to vanquish and destroy
Earth’s indigenous sacred wisdom.

A Nationalistic Manifest Destiny
not informed by natural-spiritual forest wisdom,
cannot be truthfully called
a Sacred Manifest Destiny
for all living residents.

Our continental
and trans-continental histories
of LeftBrain conquest
are also herstories
of RightBrain creolization,
of cooperative interrelationship understories,
of EarthCentric giving back integrity of ownership
to cooperatively invest
less in competitive EmpireBuilding,

Nationalistic flags do not wave
for deep matriotic relationships
within and among forests.
Patriotic flags
are for naming and claiming,
for blaming and shaming Other’s flagging lack

on our way toward military-industrialized camouflage

waving flags of ownership
while killing native health
of older and wiser forests.

We renamed our sacred forest spirits
after mortal colonizers
with violently protected self-manifest destinies
giving themselves legal rights,
so remarkably generous!
to blow up natural-spiritual interdependence
in just a few degenerative decades,
denuding any sacred signs
of our humane-divine
extending family sacred interrelationships.

Green pastures and healthy waters
of supremacist patriotic destiny
are threatened by natural-spiritual deep relationship

Sensing LeftBrain entitlement
is no reasonable substitute
for RightBrain sacred authority,
responsibility,
accountability
to not degenerate Earth’s forests

Respect for ActiveHope

My thought for this day,
although still early,
is respect for hope.

Respect for our interdependence
and respect for our challenging differences,
important, yet hopefully not as powerful
as our interdependent love for healthy life.

Yesterday
I noticed a brown cardboard box
in the corner of a reception area
for our Infectious Disease Clinic
with a black marker sign above
“Books–Free to Give and Take”

There were only two books to take,
hard to estimate how many might be given.
Both of these current residents of the box,
waiting for their next conversational partners,
were written by a Senator Barack Obama.

One,
a biographical heritage journey
about living between society’s generous giving
and sometimes breathtaking taking
and stomping on differences
within primarily interdependent identities.

The title of the Senator’s other book,
“The Audacity of Hope” grabbed me
in part because,
by the time it was published,
the author was also a candidate
for the US Presidency,
and in part because of the way we are now living
in response to an AntiAudacious Hope Administration
reading from a script
to incarnate the reverse side,
“The Mendacity of Hopelessness”
of despair,
of nihilism,
of fake-piety,
of false nationalistic AntiEarth hubris

Marketed in red, white, and blue gift wrap
as [AntiMatriotic] Patriotism,
with sales remaining somewhat more pathological in Red States
than Blue and Green, maybe Turquoise,
or AquaMarine,
but defined as not-Red
as Red is confined to not
“The Global Audacity of CreativeHope.”

Susan Belden
lyrically asks
How do you love those who hate you?

We see some response in teachings of Jesus;
to turn the other cheek,
to walk a second enslaved by force mile,
to turn rifle associations into farming and gardening tools for good,
although this last one was a remix from Old Testament Prophets.
Tools for respecting interdependence
but also multicultural differences
still in creolizing process.

It is easy to hate Donald Trump,
or to see him as the Emperor without AudaciousClothes
of Grace
for Healthy Faith
as his unfortunate choice and lot in life.
Even easier
to go back and forth between these two,
blaming and shaming.

It is harder to hate those who voted for him.
Although I have an obsessively troubling place in my dissonant heart
and mind
for those who profess to be evangelists for a God of Love and Peace
but also profess their eager willingness to vote yet again
for The Nakedly Sexist and Supremacist Apprentice again.

Like the Body of Christ
continuing to empower the Head Pharisee.

How do you respect those
who build their futures
on disrespecting you
and yours
and your healthy futures?

How do you play Win-Win
with those who persist in the delusion
our only RealTime life option
is Win-Lose or Lose-Lose?

I suspect it is this Lose-Lose non-option
that disrespects our mutual economic
and political
and personal
and vulnerable fears,
our lie-group
proving what Win-Win would invite toward respect.

It is in witnessing what happens
when we take this risk of turning
our appositional faces
that we can invite
mutual respect
for the audacity of Win-Win non-violent healing.

It is when we walk this double-binding extra walk
with those who disrespect integrity and hope
and faith
and multiculturing love,
that we are more likely to discover
our own lack of strength
to remain vulnerable to shared evils
of ego-centrism
and anthro-centrism
lurking within our own hearts and minds

And bad faith harboring mendacity
and apathy about past violent colonization,
where empathy
and creolizing curiosity
and respect
could invite interdependent hope.

My audacity of hope
lies in faith
we always have a political and personal option
that is a Win both for our ego’s economic future
and for our Earth’s ecological future.
That this is true for healthcare giving
and receiving accessible to all Earth’s residents
and constituents,
whether voters or not even enfranchised,
whether we could even bear to hear their votes for respect
and not for disrespect,
or not.

Restoring Win-Win life options always optimizes peace outcomes,
audacious hope outcomes,
mutual respect for our inductive interdependence first,
and our deductive differences secondarily,
and contingently
compromising suboptimal democratic intent
settling for short-term Win-Lose outcomes,
leaving less room for love of complex internal multicultural rights
than hate for external monoculturing chaotic wrongs.

Infectious Disease Clinics
are good places for more Audacious Hope
and democratic multiculturing Love.
But so would any classroom,
so would the Parent rack
of any bookstore–
required reading for any healthcare legislator,
any ecopolitical policy maker,
any person wanting to grow hope
as respect first for our living interdependence,
second for loyal and gratefully shared differences
feeding further curiosity
and deeper empathy
and stretching faith in respect
across extending nature-spirit families
sharing this one global sacred Habitat

Concelebrating many liturgically evolving flags
all blowing in our shared
audacious winds of hope.
