Advocating Patriotism for Earthlings

It is not patriotic
to desecrate a flag
or even denigrate a nationalistic anthem
celebrating a war-torn patriotic flag.

Yet is it even anti-patriotic
to refuse to bow to it,
the flag, that is,
to not stand with supremacist intentions
while singing about it
to each other?
And usually rather badly
I might snobbishly add.

And the lyrics?
Well they do not favorably compare
to T.S. Elliot,
especially the one about
how we might sometimes consider
taking the history bending road less traveled.

Pretentious played out WinLose roads
all leading both to and from Rome,
monoculturally agreeing we share a just war right
to train our children
how best to resolve our territorial threats of violence
is further threat of militarizing
and policing
and militia ethno-supremacist violence
against basic civil humane decency
to at least pretend to flirt for an invitation to visit first.

It matters not to me
if overpaid and celebrated athletes
stand or bow
or simply stay comfortably seated
on their well-developed asses
during nationalistic commemorations
that feel to them
as if they are sadly sung as Other;
this is not a patriotic history that has
over-invested in pretending All Hues and Textures Matter
and are equally invited to co-reside,
not even much of a childhood visit
to consider significant investment
in singing praise futures
for civil war-torn flags
flown most flagrantly
at sexist
and racist
and ballistics for better business associations–
which all feels quite anti-democratic
and anti-most of North American voting populations
and anti-most trees and forests,
our nonvoting yet shared-climate populations.

But, hey,
who’s counting patriotically correct positions,
right?

To stand
to bow
to remain seated as self-restraint
against fake historic news
during entire mindless operas
and WinLose ball game operations
celebrating MightMakesRight
means patriotic
right or rather more weakly and humbling wrong.

I do care what
is RightWing undervalued
as the very EarthBound Climate HealthyHeart
of Patriotism,
because what is pathological for planet Earth
cannot be so much sacredly patriotic
for any American nation,
North or South
or that hot creolizing latino/a strip
in-between,
or for any tribe
or species
or branch of nature,
including humane nature-spirits,
body-minds of and for nondual patriotic-matriotic
polypathic maturation,
cooperative regenerativity,
health trends patriotically reconnected
with ecological wealth trends,
to include those nonvoting trees and forests
in our ecopolitical party plans
and full-color invitations to please participate.

If the NFL has earned
a patriotic boycott,
for me this is about
investing in more democratically inclusive
cooperative
nutritious WinWin health-wealth games
and co-ownership exploits
but with more commitment
than mere flirtations
around the edges of Earth flagging worship
and waving trends.

EarthMatriotic patriotism not all about
who stands
who sits
who bows and scrapes
who farts
who crosses hearts
and hopes to die
during any seemingly endless nation’s anthems
and self-congratulatory flag-waving,
as entertaining as this may be
for the younger kids
who didn’t forget their sunscreen.

Even they might prefer cooperative circles
for Hokey Pokey Anthems
full-voiced song
and active healthy dance
more patriotically AllAmerican together.

The THC Ordinance

I am fairly new to this Norwick community.
If I recall correctly
we have about forty thousand households here
where the Connecticut River
conjoins the Mohegan and Iroquois Rivers;
originally deep rich virgin eco-forest harmonic.

So when I interviewed the Mayor,
I asked him why he wrote
the Norwick THC Family-Friendly Ordinance?
This came from nowhere.
No one from the local Democratic Party Committee
had mentioned we should soon expect to look
in this ecopolitical direction.

“Well,
the more active committee members tend to put their wallets
where their mouths and noses are currently ingesting,
if you follow?”

OK, so you were all in this together
and it didn’t occur to any of you
this might induce a national spotlight?

“No,
we thought the Norwick Ban on Alcohol Sales
to Those Under the Age of SixtyFive
would probably do that.
The THC Family-Friendly Ordinance,
What’s so unusual
about family-friendly ecopolitics?”

Well I think a critical question
from massive media markets
is where is your well researched positive outcome evidence
that THC is more family friendly
than is depressive alcohol?

“Have you tried both?”

Have you?

“OK, we can do this the long way.
If you have done both, and have a family,
then that is your primary evidence.
If you have only done THC,
then you probably wouldn’t have asked that question
and you would be wondering,
as am I,
why this is not well-reported
and academically taught
and therapeutically resourced
and economically developed
in other eco-friendly centers,
like your THC Friendly ego-eco SelfIdentity
of BiCameral Consciousness.
But, if you have only tried alcohol,
then your evidence
may be in damage to your depressed family relationships.
Now imagine only grandpas and grandmas
controlling who gets the booze in family markets,
and who does not
because young fools will drink and drive
when they can’t even balance on a bicycle!
And, if you have tried neither,
then I guess your best evidence
is to come to a Democratic Town Committee Meeting,
over at the Senior Center,
for lunch
and we’ll give ’em both a try,
but consecutively, never simultaneously,
while watching redundant Washington afternoon debates
on immigration
and taxation
and climate health v pathology
and health care giving and receiving
to see and hear what you suspect
they were drinking and not smoking
during their patriotic red meat power lunches.”

No, thanks.
You had me with the first option.

“That so.
So why did you bother to ask?”

Because that’s what I wanted to know?

“You wanted to know why we passed a THC-Friendly ordinance
yet didn’t think this was even controversial
from a public health and safety perspective?”

Well yes,
but I’m also wondering why there wasn’t even any Republican opposition.

“You’re new here,
aren’t you?”

I’ll concede that question.
So how’s it going so far?

“Well,
the police and the courts and lawyers
and maybe even the Emergency Wing
at the hospital,
and the ambulance drivers and EMTs
are feelin’ kinda bored and left behind.
Playin’ a lot of cards
and not generating the fees and fines
and insurance reimbursements
and fake non-profit donations
to the Punishing Chambers of Political Commerce.”

That doesn’t sound encouraging.

“On the other hand
the Senior Centers are filled with smokey stories about,
well…
it’s often difficult to say,
but certainly happy about WinWin nutritional outcomes,
so we don’t worry a whole lot
about the synergetic details.”

Anyone else doing better?

“Mainly the poor and suffering,
single-parent low-income households,
homeless and hungry and at-risk
building cooperatively-owned residences
and salvage
and entertainment
and renewable energy industries,
producing song and dance and rhythm
and story telling
and creation parable swelling
street opera sectors
of and for ecopolitical cooperative outcomes.
These are all deeper and wider and probably higher
than healthcare giving and receiving
prior to unanimous Town Council passage.”

So what are your thoughts
about the remaining under-employed,
restorative justice now overwhelming retributive justice,
for our medical and legal pathologist depression problems?

“We were thinking of Anger Management
ego-eco therapeutic classes
through Left and Right
as Yang and Yin
co-arising glasses.”

I worry I may know what that means.

“The reforesting police are supervising and supporting
growth of neighborhood permacultural parks and gardens.
They are also hosting organic interior and exterior wu-wei design classes,
for optimizing both ego and ecotherapies,
yoga and chi gong classes too,
some held at the schools,
from preschool through Norwick High,
and our community college and the technical high school,
and some of the Sabbath and Sunday Schools.
We now have an herbalist division
over at the hospital
that seems to pick up the slack
for their Emergency staff.
And the ambulances transport more plants than people,
seeds,
small fruit trees
for our edible reforesting projects.
It’s called finding the economic cooperative WinWin solution
within the politically bicameral competing Either/Or problem.”

How do these outcomes look for replication elsewhere?

“That would be a better question to ask elsewhere.”

So that’s how you want to end this interview,
with criticizing my culminating question?

“Sorry.
That is an excellent question,
not that you asked for my opinion,
but one I cannot answer
as I am not elsewhere
at the moment.”

Anything else I should have asked?

“Do I really want to write about
why the Mayor wrote
this Norwick THC-Friendly Ordinance?”

Oh, I did ask that question.

“And what did you hear?”

Maybe yes, LeftYang patriarchal;

“Hmmm…

The Prophet Speaks

Racism,
and sexism
and violent capitalism
are as American
and as bad for you
and your kids
as pre-millennial rotten and burned-out apple pie-makers

speaking curbside

In a sad and quiet voice.

as if he stood morally apart.

for world peace
was long and lean
with sun-dried and bronzed wrinkled skin
over muscled sinew,
a long-grey bearded
and skeletal nature mystic,
with clear and open stereophonic memorizing eyes.

Inside,
remembering his times with swimming wet green frogs
and sleek flying flashing ravens,
eagles of EarthPatriotic balance,
both honorable predators
and prey to aging apple pies
regretted and suffered
by long grey-bearded prophetic times
surviving threats and violence of nationalistic racism
and monotheistic sexism
and MightMakesRight capitalism,
WinLose subnormal optimization
of WinWin BothAnd opportunities,
Left integrated in and outside Right-felt memories
of maternal love
far too unmatriotically far behind

Studying history
tries to be objectively subjective,
at its best,

It is all very well for Mr. DesCartes

why when I think happy and healthy
I feel like I am more,

My WhiteHouse Interview

I was nervous about my newest client.
Not every Permaculture Designer gets a contract
with the WhiteHouse.
But, when the President called,
or twittered,
for an intake interview,
I guess it felt like an obligation
to at least show up,
although perhaps about fifteen minutes late,
just to confirm any stereotypes he may have
about gay designers.

Then, too, what to wear?
An organic hemp dress would be confrontational,
which would be interesting for me,
but probably make it even more challenging for Trump
to take me seriously,
and who knows what possible acts of patriarchal aggression
and innuendo
a gay male designer in a dress might stir up?

I wondered if he would be interested in some natural dye wigs
as a great way to improve his Zero-Zone,
both decorative and shade functional
to keep the sun off his bald white capital investments.

I did show up fashionably late
and yet maintaining a good faith effort
to take this WhiteHouse gig seriously.
When Trump finally stopped talking
about what a great job he was doing,
I began our long list of Client Interview questions,
the ones I took from my Certification Notebook.

Me: Generally speaking,
Mr. President (I added that part myself–a little ad liberalism),
What are your desired uses of this property?

POTUS: Well, you know I was in the Lincoln Room the other night,
never mind what the hell I was doing in there,
but I was remembering my Republican Mentor’s challenge
about becoming someone who can fool all the people
all the time,
and I think that’s my main goal for this WhiteHouse.

Me: Anything else?
Perhaps a vegetable garden,
or some solar panels,
shade trees,
organic compost for all these flowers?
Rain barrels to catch the roof water
for nourishing your played-out chemically-treated garden?

POTUS: No, that’s all private contracted to Blackwater.
I did mention that I want to drain the swamp
and clean out this dump
in the LeftWing of the former WhiteHouse
promoting health and climate care,
didn’t I?

Me: I seem to recall reading that
you are against health care for almost everyone
poor enough to be at risk of democratically shared death.
But, no,
you didn’t mention your swamp
and LeftWing infestation problems
just now.
You only mentioned the goal of successfully lieing
to everybody about everything all the time,
from everywhere you happen to be,
including this property.
Which, by the way,
is a profoundly alarming misread
of what Abraham Lincoln actually said,
or intended,
speaking descriptively of politics as usual.

Most of us hear
You can fool some people all the time
and you can fool all people sometimes
without also hearing
But you can’t fool all the people all the time
as a prescriptive challenge for better politics as unusual
for future Presidents,
Republican or nihilistic otherwise.
But, let’s get back to draining your swamp
and your problem about the LeftWing.
What is your daily routine?

POTUS: I usually start each morning meditating
and twittering on the shitter
about how well we’re all doing today.
Then, when I’m feeling better,
I need and take a shower
and get dressed
and then I order anything I want for breakfast
for me
and for whoever else might have slept over
and bothered to wake up to eat with me,
which tends to be no one.

Then I go over to the RightWing
and lie to all the poorest ones
and compete with all the richest ones
about who can tell the most patriotically expressive
patriarchal lies.

Then we have lunch.
Again, whoever happens to be at my messy trough
back next to the old swamp,
and then sometimes I play golf
and sometimes I seed more lies
at these really great patriotic pep rallies
where I carefully wrap myself in the one true sacred flag,
and a preferably red Trump-cap,
to go with my all white skin
and blue death lips,
talking about what a mess our LeftWing is,
although,
come to think of it,
the RightWing is getting a bit bloody and scabby
these days too.

Me: You got as far as vampire dinner time
and after-dinner entertainments.

POTUS: Yes,
and those are going very well.
We’re doing the best dinner and entertainment reality show ever
in the entire history of this WhiteHouse.

Me: So it sounds like you are clear about your fake administration goals
and you assess your own swamp draining
and LeftWing demolition processes
as well under way.

It’s your dime.
We can continue this interview,
but given the nature of your goals
for what is really OUR property,
and not quite so much your own personal corporate fascist personhood
mandated to own and exploit this WhiteHouse
and our District Swamp
and our Left and Right Wings,
did you ask for this Design Interview
because you just don’t know what a Permaculture Designer is,
because you only know about Monocultural Elitism,
and you were curious about the little people?
Or is this actually part of your fake news,
that your ecopolitical agenda
is in process of receiving Permaculture Design Certification?

POTUS: We are doing an amazing job
of fooling all the multiculturing people
all the climate changing time…

Me: Mr. President,
with all due respect for your authority,
and your sacred fascist mandate,
you are a fine teacher and preacher and mentor

for Mutual Obsolescence Certification.

which apparently you feel you don’t need any help with.

I think you are absolutely and alternatively right about that,
and perhaps only that.
So I think we are done here.

Me: You didn’t hear a thing I said, did you?

POTUS: No, listening isn’t my thing.
But, occasionally I worry,
maybe fooling all the people all the time
must most of all include myself,
all the time,
everywhere I happen to be,

When Beauty Turns Dark

Beauty includes dignity,
respect easily visible
to our nutritional sensors,
including when Beauty grows dark edges.

We each,
individually,
and as a species of life form,

All Dancers Matter

Those who pray by marching
can pray alone
in endless competitions.

Those who pray while dancing
can only pray together
for timeless cooperations.

Hate and fear can only angry march
side by competing side
in uniformity of lock-step supremacy.

But love and compassion
can also truth and beauty dance
and sing
in full hope octaves
of multicolored harmony.

Resonant solidarity of ballrooms
and street performers
singing and chanting and drumming
good news gospel resonance
rather than bad news mono-marching hate.

We can sing and dance cooperatively
to angry patriarchal elitist marchers
more effectively than merely speak in not-kind shout,
and across,
and back and forth,
flow anthems up and out of all inclusive love songs.

This singing dance can,
with enough harmonic polycultured voices,
become sustained ego-happy filibusters
through marching hate,
marathons of love
proactively singing and dancing
alongside those marching through dualdark fear and anger,
inviting them to rejoin
our dancing gospel choir.

For every hate-mongering military march,
we have thousands of love-mentoring lyrics,
and,
therefore,
potential dancing lyricists.

Anger and marching paranoia are mutually competitive

as are love song and grace of dance mutually harmonic.

We can choose to march and shout ourselves apart,
but we would more democratically,
and gracefully,
prefer to dance and sing our cooperative ways together.

Those who pray while dancing
