Health Policies for Cooperative Action

This is for better as healthier, more regenerative, economic and political health advocates. We begin with a request for proposals from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, with a March 23, 2017 deadline.

Purpose

Policies for Action: Policy and Law Research to Build a Culture of Health (P4A) was created to help build the evidence base for policies that can help build a Culture of Health. P4A seeks to engage long-standing health care, mental and behavioral health, and public health researchers, as well as experts in areas that we recognize have strong influence on health, well-being and equity—such as labor, criminal justice, education, transportation, housing, and the built environment.The research funded under this call for proposals (CFP) should help fill significant gaps in our knowledge about what policies can serve as positive drivers of change, including how the social determinants of health can be used to achieve improvements in population health, well-being, and equity. I was reading Lakoff’s story
of what he learned at Berkeley
about international relations,
when I found my RightBrain offering further nuance;
not to deny what is here,
but to add what is also here,
but not explicitly stated,
about regenerative ecopolitical health and safety.

BiCamerally CoOperative Politics

I think he’s talking about a cooperative bicameral political systems,
with “How to talk to the other side”.

And what could that possibly mean, dear Yang?

Well,
I was watching this Ted-talk from Marin,
by Robb Willer, as I anciently recall,
while reading George Lakoff’s “Political Mind”,
still…

Yes, dear,
you really talk about Lakoff’s ecopolitical organic-systemic mind
a bit too much.
I prefer opera.

Speaking of what that could possibly mean,
but, anyway,
Yes, I was reading Lakoff and listening Willer,
both probably influenced by Berkeley ecopolitical acclimation,
now post-millennially evolving
from Gregory Bateson’s Sacred Ecology,
which was also sometimes bicameral-appositionally structured
to bilaterally invite both-and comparisons
where LeftBrain dominance competes either-or survivalist evolutions.

Now I couldn’t possibly be more lost
in your polysyllables
where I prefer polypathic rhythms,
jazzier occupier beats of revolution.

This is starting to sound like an opera version
of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf.
So, as I was saying,
this bicameral picture, from Lakoff, and Willer, and Bateson…

Was that the Berkeley natural ecopolitical law firm
you were reading,
and watching?

Custody of the Eyes

Monks and nuns,
ascetics and miscellaneous humble proletariat folks,
were taught custody of the eyes,
to show respect for those older
and/or wiser
and/or more supremely royal,
and/or in other positions of merited or inherited authority,
to avoid appearing too curious
too available
too interested,
to avoid temptations
of lust and envy and gossip,
to avoid that part of our reality show
that was only meant for the real adults
in our extended family rooms and screens,
creeping across hedge and boundary and custody-paradigm issues
of who is worthy to be in and who not-so-much.

African-American sons and daughters of enslavement,
were taught custody of the eyes
and ears,

and hands,
and mouth,
and mind,
because what may be nutritious for WesternWhite Entitlement folks

Custody of the senses, including the eyes,

with competitive egocentric dominance
