I was reading Lakoff’s story
of what he learned at Berkeley
about international relations,
when I found my RightBrain offering further nuance;
not to deny what is here,
but to add what is also here,
but not explicitly stated,
about regenerative ecopolitical health and safety.

“The ‘rational’ approach to foreign policy was governed by a set of conceptual metaphors,
taken as simple common sense,
as metaphors [of and for regenerative v degenerative systemic processes] often are.

Sacred Numbers

Numbers, numerals,
like words,
combinations of letters,
mean something,
sometimes more secular,
sometimes more sacred ecological.

Numerals and letters share sacred iconic human-intelligence root systems
within a bicameral ecology of mind-body nonduality,
both RightBrain matriarchal empowering flow of integrity (Czikszentmihalyi)
and LeftBrain patriarchal Yang deductive empowered language
of ecological-bilateral numerals (B. Fuller).

Numbers,
like rhythms and fractal-holonic patterns,
show up in nature,
as natural primal relationships
with the revolutions of seasonal eco-development time.

We have Century Plants
blossoming only once in 100 years.
Where did they learn their metric-memory skills,
RNA-rooted intelligence?

We have histories of locusts
swarming every 25 years.
How many generations is that
in locust co-intelligence?

We have Old Faithful.
How do these bio-ecosystems know when it is time to show up,
and when it is time for Business As Usual,
not show off?

When is it time for numeric revolutionary performances,
and more aptic time for normal evolutions
of everyday,
in-between
fertile enhealthing
enriching
ecological seasons?

Bicamerally-bilaterally structured humans
have 1,000 year millenniums,
boundary periods of ecological discernment,
sacred-secular nondual potentials increased
for Left-Right balance development,
scientifically conservative yet also spiritually progressive,
for healthier conversations between our Yang Patriarchal languaged LeftBrains
and our Yin-Matriarchal-Integral
relational rhythmed
ecological patterned,
formed,
symmetric
sacred-iconic nurturing RightBrain.

These revolutionary recycling events
feel more sacred
then humdrum secular
not 100th year,
not 25th year,
not one thousandth year,
and yet there is a building up prophetic era
emerging from secular medians
toward sacred climax,
just as there is a sacred afterglow of memory
reweaving these repurposing miracles
of life’s iconic mysteries.

What if LeftBrain has developed iconic political powers of language
speaking of, and longing for,
regenerative conservation of ecologically healthy meaning,
purposive,
naturally effective,
cooperative communicating;
while RightBrain,
older on the phylogenic ladder of DNA revolution
of what had been RNA monotheistic root systemic
health-wealth normative evolutionary symmetries of cooperative health?
Matriarchal reverse-hierarchical extending family trees,
singing and dancing
marching and flying and swimming
diastatically climaxing for and with economic-ecologic
iconic seasonal re-integrity,
wealth ionic-contenting health,
karmic flow of right-timed bliss,
erotic through agapic sacred grace
of regenerate health-wealth co-arising
Left-Right nonduality,
ego/eco-political empowering attitudes of polypathic trust,
(0) soul, sum, core millennial balancing.

A great deal has been LeftBrain written
about the iconic historical evolution of numerals.
Perhaps a great deal more has been felt
about the RightBrain embryonic ElderMatriarchal womb,
virginal bilateral emptiness
of polypathic-estrogenetic zero (0),
and the LeftBrain Yang convex-vertical
prominant testoster-oned one (1).

But, both seem to ecologically deliver themselves
in PositiveRegenerative and NegativeDegenerative spectral multicultural varieties,
balancing at the DoubleNegative tipping points of equivalence,
Left-Right cognitive confluence,
rather than cognitive-affective ecologically more secular climates
of everyday Business As Usual competitive political dissonance.

What might it mean to have 2020 bicameral ecopolitically balanced ReVolutioning Vision?
To bicamerally hear,
to multicultural civil eco-service rights and wrongs taste,
to matriarch-cooperative network
economic slow diastatic-fertile growth of ecological-flow feel,
ecopolitically co-arising nondual post-millennial mindbodies
of Left-Right ego/eco-balancing consciousness?

It’s 2017.
A lot of permaculturally nutritious ecopolitical designs could emerge
before the upcoming
nondual-loving
secular-sacred
revolutionary Roaring 2020s.

Interesting about early 2017 new not-so-Presidential Executive Orders
to immediately dismantle,
by means of neglect to feed and water,
our imperfect frames for national access to health care
and national, even international, access to global climate health,
to the full extent now lawful.

How could this be any post-millennial climate health afterglow at all?
I wonder in bicameral dismay.
As we incarnate 2020 Vision
among Washington’s pay for public services rendered,
would it not be our health and safety collective duty
to defend regenerative health and happiness,
safety and prosperity,
freedom from unhealthy exploitation of Earth’s resources
and freedom toward healthy development
of regenerative climate bio and ecotherapies?

What could our democratic unity of ecopolitical states
of healthy and secure mind and body nondually mean,
if not to cooperatively pursue healthy biological
and ecological
climates?

So these Executive Orders
appear uncivil nonservice,
intrinsically anti-health and happiness AntiConstitutional to me,
for any civil servant of health and safety
anathema of plutocratic anthrocentric hubris,
both politically and economically untenable
for our shared healthy futures,
and future health regenerations.

Are these early indicators that anti-regenerative supremacy
has become a self-impeaching
excommunicating offense
against basic first premises of a fearlessly trusting democracy,
freedom of and for health and safety
of fertile cooperative 2020 integrity
of ecotherapeutic character,
WinWin politically cooperative
defensively secure development
of growing climate health-progressive trends,
ecological-economic nondual opportunities
to reduce high-risk competitive climates of dehumanizing
dualistic
nature-spirit anti-ecological pathology.

mean something secularLeft-sacredRight nondual

Custody of the Eyes

Monks and nuns,
ascetics and miscellaneous humble proletariat folks,
were taught custody of the eyes,
to show respect for those older
and/or wiser
and/or more supremely royal,
and/or in other positions of merited or inherited authority,
to avoid appearing too curious
too available
too interested,
to avoid temptations
of lust and envy and gossip,
to avoid that part of our reality show
that was only meant for the real adults
in our extended family rooms and screens,
creeping across hedge and boundary and custody-paradigm issues
of who is worthy to be in and who not-so-much.

African-American sons and daughters of enslavement,
were taught custody of the eyes
and ears,
and nose,
and hands,
and mouth,
and mind,
because what may be nutritious for WesternWhite Entitlement folks
is what is inappropriately dangerous for nonWhite dependent nonfolks.

Custody of the senses, including the eyes,
is a form of risk management
and precisely what healthy, curious polypathic trusting people
would never ever choose to do,
to enrich not only our own curious multiculturing eyes,
but also to do our part to facilitate
therapeutic opening of our EarthTribe extended families’
ecologically deep-nutritious, bicameral nurturing, eyes.

Custody of the eyes,
risk-management, anger-management, fear-terror management,
does not invite the curiosities of appositional loves,
invitations,
mutual gratitude for still emerging sacred-cooperative humanity,
natural/spiritual nondual dignity,
integration of our potential
for more regenerative,
self/other acclimating,
Earth-Secular/Sacred multicultural health integrity.

George Lakoff reminds us that
“Most people’s first [custodial] experience with governance
[of the eyes and all that eco-bio system that lies bicamerally behind]
is in their family.”
[Here I would pause to extend this family’s self-governing timeline,
back to embryonic beginnings,

to suggest this is where our within-matriarchal family governance

how to deep nurturingly learn to love self/other regeneratively,

leaning toward fearsome sociopathology,
expecting lesser paranoid beings to practice
custody of the eyes
and to respect YangHubris right to enforce condemning violence
against less enlightened minds and too-liberal bodies.

To CareGivers and Receivers

I hope we all at least aspire to become adept caregivers and receivers,
as these two directions seem to be nondualist,
mutually symbiotic;
to give care is neither better nor worse than to receive,
as optimal healthy care giving is also receiving–
these interactions mutually feed and enrich each other.
We call this healthy and growing love.

The best care giving comes out of love and nurturance,
not merely the exterior forms of ego discipline,
the ego-control of negative emotions and thoughts.
Love sublimates negativity,
often with humor at our own ecoconsciously mindful deep learning expense,
co-investment,
looking even deeper at this relationship in this time,
and learning to share this Basic Attendance
in a nondual spirit of co-mentorship.

Put another more therapeutic way,
health care professional training has invested in attorneys
and insurance bottom-line profit-seeking,
risk-management corporations,
to articulate how to defend oneself,
one’s practice,
one’s relationships,
from inappropriate touch and language and aggressive behavior.

This is not a bad thing in our WinLose ecopolitical economy,
but it is the less compelling side of our WinWin opportunity-optimization potential
for both caregiving and receiving
which is all about how to therapeutically touch and speak
and derive maturing empathic consciousness.

Both strict conservatives and progress-nurturers can agree
that our GoldenRule caregiving-receiving journey
within this health v pathology Earth climate,
through both internal and external landscapes of ecotherapeutic touch and language,
is how we further evolve together
toward optimizing WinWin health,
regenerative caregiving-receiving,
communicating with hands and feet and mouth from within mutually cooperative empathic trust.

As this conversion occurs and re-occurs and concurs,
then life becomes all about WinWin optimizing appropriate touch.
Too long enduring issues of WinLose inappropriate touch
become artifacts of a prior benighted millennium,
a former age and stage and life,
our progress-conserving regenerate Elders would not wish stuck upon us
or our great-grandchildren of all Earth’s species.

Revisiting Extended Family Values

I began reading Jane Anna Gordon’s “Creolizing Political Theory”
from the back toward the front,
as usual,
because if I appreciate where this narrative journey will end,
then I probably will find we start off with similar questions
of economic and political urgency right now.

And, also as is my dialogical custom,
I am working my way through George Lakoff’s “The Political Mind,”
this morning starting his chapter on Family Values.

Here is what happened to my parenting political minds,
both the LeftBrain rational-deductive dominant,
and the RightMind matriarchal-familial nurturing,
cooperative Yin-nonWestern,
as Gordon might prefer,
and seems to conclude:

“Dallmayr…warned first against ‘imperialist modes of theorizing,’
in which one portion of the [competing rather than cooperating]globe
would monopolize the production of hared means and practices
that should ‘only arise from lateral [Right is bilateral, while Left is vertical-hierarchically deductive, empowered exegetically from above] interaction,

“Why should a [LeftBrain ego-supremacist] conservative
living in the Midwest
find it personally threatening when gays get married in San Francisco or Massachusetts?”

“Why doesn’t a [health and safety utilitarian survivalist] conservative government
take better care of its veterans,
and why don’t [conservative self-condemning] veterans
and their families rebel en masse?”

“Why do progressives feel a sense of responsibility for righting the wrongs
of past generations?”
[Because we hope that’s what our kids
will do for their kids?]

“And why should we find progressive and conservative values
and modes of thought outside of politics proper–
in kindergartens,
Little League coaching,
churches,
summer camps, and so on?”
[And who said these are not ecopolitical paradigms?]

In another millennial time and Chinese/Russian place,
Taoism began as aphorisms and poetry
about political philosophy,
articulating a bicameral tension
between Conservative Yangers,
patriarchal universalist ego empire builders,
and Unitarian Progressive Yinners, WinWinners,
a matriarchal cooperative
polypathic
multicultural
integrative network of nurturers,
(the longer the list of adjectives and adverbs,
the less important history would prove us to become cooperatively disintegrated)
empty of any sectarian-deductive labeling,
and supremacist framing, function.

Hence, everyone knows the principles of InterdependentYang and EmptyYin,
and usually metaphorically associate them with Male and Female,
and Positive and Negative,
yet few have economically and/or politically defined
the governing power of Tao.
We have the Tao of most everything,
without necessarily being clear about what the label Tao
adds to most anything.

In another millennial time and New England and Baltimore place,
Reverend Channing proposed to replace the Holy Trinity
with God the LeftBrain Dominant patriarchal EgoFather[Mother],
with universalist regenerative credentials of deduced historic effectiveness,
and the RightBrain Unitarian matriarchal OverSoul
of Grace
and Flow
and Karma
and Princess (0)-Sum Prime Relational Energy
of ecoconscious integrative potential,
all four nondual sisters co-arising cooperatively together
in ecopolitical health
and bicameral safety Paradise
of DNA with RNA Solidarity in fractal-nutritional seasons
with reasons of regenerative health,
Original Tao Intent.

Or, something LeftBrain Universal God
and RightBrain OverSoul EcoConscious Unitarian
like Yang Ego discontinuous competitions
with Yintegral EcoIntegrity CoOperative Networking
and WinLose evolutionary model of mutual degeneration
with WinWin ecological model of regenerativity.

It is this Unitarian 0-sum RightBrainBody OverSoul
that Reverend Julian Jaynes explores
as how we are prodigal son and daughter and transgender Egos,
and OverSoul Atman PolyPaths of EcoConsciousness,
Prodigal Unitarians
progressing Ego health and safety Conservationism,
played WinWin with LeftBrain ego-centric
ecological discernment of optimally cooperative evolution
rather than BusinessAsUsual LeftBrain idolatry
of competitive capitalistic revolutions,

in the name of peacemaking,
and pathological lack of long-term consciousness

Both history and science,
our own eyes and ears,
remind us phylogeny is polypathic
across both DNA and RNA branches
of our regenerative tree of life.

So it is our Earth’s systemic ecology is polyculturally progressing

radiates above my roof
across our yard,
my face and mind,
reminding me Earth’s nature can and must sometimes feel kind
if last week’s hurricane of snow felt unkind
to aging joints and internal family tensions.

My Taoist roots remain disarticulated on this theme.
Controversy of dissonant and alien natures cannot be kind
because Earth is not kind.
Yet too often taught,
I feel this full moon glow across my tearing mind,
that nature is unkind
and so it is our nature to compete to survive,
rather than cooperate to thrive,
along with all Earth’s Golden Ruling creatures
and ecosystems.

And yet this narrative,
left removed from other half,
distorts who we are sometimes,
who I am at my best and healthiest,
and least competitive dissonance,
because in 0-sum Taoist nondual co-arising philosophy,
where there is an unkind Yang
there must also be a kind Yin
or how would we know anything of kindness,
positive or negative opposition,
yang both/and yin apposition
full regenerative kindness and empty unkind promise.

This warm January moon will darkly empty,
yet fill again
to touch my heart,
our hearts,
with Earth’s kind and healthy Promise.

Digesting Happiness

What did your grandmother tell you about happiness?

Bottom line,
All you have is your health.
Nothing about money or celebrity status at all.

Yes. That sounds familiar.
And, what did your father hope for your happiness?

He was more nuanced about happiness.
Or maybe conflicted would be a better word.
Happiness was maybe not the right question.
Certainly not the most important one.

Did he have a favorite aphorism?

You are what you eat.

Putting those two together, then,
You progress in absorbing health
as you conservatively invest in healthy nutritional choices,
and vice versa,
we progress toward further degeneration
as we continue to compete against toxins
from unhealthy environmental choices.

They both talked about the Golden Rule,
although not about nutritional choices.

If they talked about the Golden Cooperative Rule,
they were talking about healthy, nutrition-optimizing, choices,
conservationally progressive orthopraxis,
and co-arising feelings of trust,
rather than continuing to co-gravitate toward more competitive investments,
rooted in others’ naive benighted breaches
of mentoring healthy integrated, digestible, investments
as you would have others mentor nutritionally cooperative enrichment
to and with conservational-progressive ego-healthy you.

Maybe my grandkids want to hear me say,
and watch me do,
Bottom line,
All we have is our cooperative health flow,
neither too Yang over-active
nor too Yin under active,
under creation storying,
integrity’s nurturing, graceful,
karmic flow toward even further regenerations.

Yes,
and then too there is that business about
You are what you eat,
so you are also what you are eaten up and down by,
and for,
and with.

Integrity of Empathy

Why need we insist on a difference
worthy of significant notice
between universal empathy
and uniting trust in co-relational health?

Whose interests,
economic and/or political,
are served by severing
external face of nature’s intelligent form
from integrity’s internal spirit of regenerate function,
co-empathic trust,
or whatever unlanguaged choices our insides inductively feel
and then deductively-reductively,
yet trustingly,
think feel right
and true,
and good,
and rationally balanced?

How could universal Yang’s empathy
not include unitarian Yin’s integrity of regenerative trust
in DNA’s and older RNA’s decompositional holonic mirrors
of enthymematic fertile rememory?

Why would ought else feel and sound and think
as antipathic negative powers of dissonance,
anticipating chronic ecopolitical paranoia,
vulnerable to further sociopathic condemnation,
exacting higher educational and parenting standards
for ever more fear and anger management?
