The 2020 Coop

The People’s Coop
is a warm inviting place,
for some
a reading and meditation
and arts practice and performance space,
for others
a place to ride sleek bicycles
with self-and-other improvement book racks
while peddling energy into the cooperative Grid,
sheltered by solar panel roof
and natural wood graffiti walls
spun and sung
with Mohammad’s Sufi Wind Turbinators.

Original coop founders
had been mural painters
and finger and toenail designers,
hair braiders
and community garden canners
and preservers,
soup and smoothie makers
and child-care cooperative providers
and home school teachers,
as well as the original upstairs apartment residents,
and those living next door,
working in the kitchen,
serving organic soup and bread
in winter,
juice smoothies
and fair-trade mocha freezes
to readers and talkers with listeners
during warmer sun-drenched months
relaxing on teak chairs
surrounding umbrella tables
in our outdoor street cafe.

The guy with a hot dog and bagel cart
joined The Coop
and invested each lunch hour
outside
then went inside to offer yoga
and chi gong classes
in the reading and quiet arts room.

Meanwhile,
more robust and rhythmic,
the kitchen and juice bar
shares open space
with a performance stage
bearing diverse drums,
a grand piano,
an accordion,
rather strangely popular,
and a karaoke machine,
lights and sound,
open mic days and nights
for comedy
and poetry,
story-telling
and rapping,
tapping and beating
and full gospel choir singing,
depending on who shows cooperatively up

over on the quiet side

Coop peak periods
include rainy and cold afternoons

TransGendering Trumpisms

Trump started it,
with his arguments against transgender people
in the military violence business
of nationalism.

He seems to think trans-thinking
could not be sufficiently focused,
disciplined,
willing to accept ego-sacrifices
as necessary for successful long-term peaceful outcomes.

While this does seem to be an issue,
this lack of focus and self-discipline,
for some in the long-term healthy peace achievement business,
anyone who is transgender
and yet willing to gamble on thriving in a military culture
is not likely to suffer in those ways,
unlike lack of congressional climate of health care outcomes,
and far removed from a Trumpian,
late-decadent Victorian,
All Supremacist WhiteHouse.

It is ever so much easier
to retain a stiff upper lip,
and shut your over-twitterish hatefilled mouth,
when thou art Queen Bee of the Hill,
than when one of the many transgender soldier bees,
defending your right to lay really tragic
not-funny eggs
in full view of a not skeptical enough
Republic.

Perhaps we would all be better off
if we only nominated for President
people who had successful experience not only as Governors
or Senators
or even Vice Presidents,
but also some successful transgender experience.

is a lifespan progress.

It might be said of adolescence,
This is a stage demanding economic authority,
autonomous freedom to invest and disinvest,
without yet accepting concomitant political responsibilities,
to family
to community
to children
to grandchildren
to disenfranchised populations
to Elders’ wiser investments, in their permacultural time,
to other interdependent species
in our food chain
and in Earth’s political digestion
and indigestion
food chain,
feedback loops, double-bound.

Adolescence viewed in this dichotomous way,
with Yang economic authority embraced so warmly
for short-term profit margins,
that Yin’s invitation to long-term cooperative political responsibilities
remains a naive liberal view
of ecological conservation;
confuses Yang adolescent dominance
with Yang/Yin maturity,
patriarchal/matriarchal nondual supremacy
over even inclusive anthrocentrism,
confuses patriarchal humanist libertarianism
without matriarchal humane integrity
