Ground of Becoming

Aristotle thought happiness is the foundation of existence.
Since then, others have worried that maybe survival is closer
to their own more suffering experience.

I don’t exactly disagree with Aristotle,
or with those on the more suffering side of our species.
But, where these two come together, in my experience,
is within the context of health v pathology.

To me, happiness is the Yang-face of health’s Yin-face,
so it is these two together co-arising the foundation
of ego’s regenerative existence,
and degenerative subclimate pathologies.

In learning happy health,
life lived ever more fully,
gracefully,
positive karmically,
as in gaming,
the stress of stretching one’s offensive capacities
is reduced by the belief that we have a perfect defense.
We know there are no WinLose strategic players;
only WinWin intent.
Because we know through co-empathic experience
and the evidence of Earth’s evolution,
that WinWin always optimizes happy-health,
while WinLose suboptimizes
opportunities for developing further co-empathic learning capacities.

So too,
defensive concerns soften and languish
by constant feedback that we have a flawless happy-health offensive strategy for further WinWin learning.

In the real world
there is no more a perfectly conservative defense
against unhealthy suffering
than there is a perfectly evolving offense toward happy health.

In learning healthier living,
cognitive-affective dissonance is our defense against polypathic co-empathy,
our oppositional resistance.

Empathic happy-health psychology,
a deep awareness of our ecopolitical equivalence,
empowers Basic Attendance (0)-sum balance,
our regenerative offensive-centered listening position
for learning effectively,
balancing nurture with challenge,
by noticing our own cognitive-affective defenses,
without which we would have no radical sense of autonomous identity,
no monoculturing monotheistic monochromatic severed ego.

So too, without our primal co-empathic relationship
with our mentoring environment,
we could have no interdependent. ecological happy-health identities.

And yet,
our ego-patriotic conserving defense of happiness
remains a secondary form
in relation to our RightBrain matriotic nurturance function
of a healthy regenerative climate,
learning atmosphere,
ecological integrity of ego-resilient polypaths.

LeftBrain Aristotle thought happiness is the foundation of existence,
because his RightBrain noticed health as his ground of becoming.

Earth’s Messiah Vocation

George Lakoff, in The Political Mind (2008),
speaks to permacultural tension within democratic governance;
between conservative competitions for sufficiently orthodox authority
and progressive movements for more cooperatively integrative empathy.

This purpose of mind,
or human consciousness,
is to evolve further humane integrity of Earth’s-consciousness;
to become more ecologically informed
about climate pathologies,
internal and external,
even global;
to draw together LeftBrain’s authoritative conserving of deductions
with RightBrain’s progressive co-empathic trust in Earth,
in our polypathic need for each multicultural Other,
even for something as politically basic
as having,
articulating,
growing,
refining a well-integrated
and conservatively-responsible
sense of ego-identity.

We have no politically authoritative YangEgo
if there is not first an economically progressive
gift-it-forward
co-empathic Yintegral
Eco-Earth
with nutritionally health-balancing ecopolitical thermodynamics.

Conserving the health of Earth and of AnthroEgos
is our nondual authoritative LeftYang
and co-empathic RightYin
co-arising Climate Health vocation,
as a species,
as members, inheritors and progenitors,
of extended DNA/RNA Solidarity families,
as individual polypathic ego/eco-conscious self-regenerative identities,
avatars of sacred co-intelligent Left/Right PermaCultural Design.

While I try to err on the side of staying positive,
or don’t publish,
I want to veer in that other negative-oppositional direction,
but out of a “here’s what has been helpful for me” place of solidarity,
and not that other conservative-condemning voice of
“you folks have serious climate issues.”

In dealing with my daughter’s Oppositional Defiant Disorder
I have come to see and hear ODD as an indiscriminate form of bullying.
Bullying is normally reserved for strategic targets,
but ODD is a more chronic and democratically inclusive form,
often rooted in early experiences of feeling nutrition-deprived of nurturing.
Regardless, for me,
ODD has become bullying on chronically paranoid steroids,
anger about, and fear of, everybody,
Earth,
life,
touch,
sights and sounds,
the word “no.”

In this sense, ODD and bullying are forms of Climate Healing Denial.
And, that is how I hear national U.S. political and economic leaders
who deny the overwhelming multicultural evidence
that climate change is a climate pathological trend,
which our most conservative spiritual and religious
and moral
and atheistic
and any form of belief in system development at all
agree moves us in the opposite, degenerative, trend
of nature-spirit’s nondual regenerative healing needs
right now.

Not in ten minutes,
when ego is more distracted,
but right now,
and in 10 minutes,
and 10 days,
and 10 months,
and 10 years,
and 100 years.

When our Ego’s go off into a paranoid ODD,
despairing of Climate Health Progress,
inside or outside or usually both,
it’s time to reframe our deep ecology education
about our polypathic healing vocation
through balancing our LeftEgo and RightEco consciousnesses;
psychologically, sure.
But, also Conservative/Progressive
Nature/Spirit
EarthHealth ecopolitically;
nondual,
co-arising.

Neither natural ecosystems
nor sacred spiritual faith experiences
can continue evolving in a healthy regenerative directions
during a crisis of struggling-against despair dissonance
toward chronically monoculturing paranoid climate pathologies
of abjectly nihilistic despair;
chaotic entropic outcomes.

Both Earth’s environment (eco)
and self spiritual identity (ego)
assume and require basic Climate Health
toward regenerative integrity, complexity, to continue evolving together.

As we have orthodoxically and DNA/RNA authoritatively received,
so can we co-invite each other to empathically, and integratively
and polypathically,
and multiculturally,
and ego/eco-consciously
give future healthy-wealthy regenerators
of all Earth’s Conserving-Yang/Progressing-Yintegrating Synergetic Tribes.

Thought Experiments

It is interesting to consider a national economy,
and a personal economy,
as iconic of our ionic political empowerment,
and competitively anti-ionic disempowerment;
so economic marginalization
becomes an icon for political victimization
and political opportunity for future WinWin healing.

This way of seeing an iconic/ionic primal relationship
within eco-politics
might support an evolutionary historical view,
which, if reversed in time,
might take us back to an imaginary moment
in each of our LeftBrain developments,
when nutritional wealth was an iconic referent
to a health-empowering referee,
organic-ionic cooperativity
as political integrity-flow of multiculturality.

While I’m not sure exactly how all this cooperative iconic economics of political health investment balances out,
my gut tells me
if you make a common economic mistake
of valuing one life (especially one’s own) differently than another,
for example
the U.S. historical investments in Native Americans and African slaves
as compared to White slave-owners and other farmers,
investment in white men as compared to women of any color,
then we have effectively de-valued all of humanity’s overall cooperative-integrative health potential.

We fall from history’s cooperatively-intended syncretic grace;
incarnate bad chi.

When what is economic wealth-valued LeftBrain
becomes what is also politically/personally health-valued RightBrain integrity,
then we achieve MidWay ecopolitical abundance of flow,
grace,
chi.

Cooperative economic and political flow,
common to all regenerative ecosystems,
is largely non-historic Business As HealthyUsual,
while news-worthy events too often reincarnate
competing images of overpowering violent capitalism,

climate pathologies of run-away ego-centrism,
degenerating further paranoid entropic trends
of closed off claustrophobic climates,
deteriorating landscapes,

rabid organisms,
devoid of sufficient soul,

love,

synergy,
integrity,
incarnation,
life…

Cooperative ecopolitical organic flow networks,
self-regenerating systems,

Business as Miraculously Usual.

All American Mentors

A happy healthy and wealth-integrated Right Brain
grows maturely silent as a calm winter night,
content to allow LeftBrain to ego-chatter away
debating further cooperative plans
for Earth’s and RightBrain’s and,
most immediately satisfying and nutritious,
EgoSelf’s better beloved belonging day.

In an evolutionary historical sense,
we are each and all,
Western and Eastern hemispheres,
Northern and Southern hemispheres,
RightBrain embedded in Matriotic Earth’s flowing regenerative warm womb,
before being exposed to the deductive spring of LeftBrain bicameral emergence,
bringing new-born evidence of Earth’s truth as beauty,
submitted by light of Father Sun’s co-empathic radiant trust
in what is MidWay warm,
not too Yangish zealously condemning hot,
and not too Yin-recessively disenfranchised cold.

This integratively cooperative and nurturing economy
of RightBrain’s heart chakra,
listens to deep ecologically learn, recall, remember
LeftBrain’s polypathic ecopolitical capital investment chakra,
with both wise opportunities
and overly reductive-deductive risks.

RightBrain deep flowing
Yang’s polypathic bicameral imagination

void of any cogniive-affective remaining dissonance,
resistance to Yang/Yin cooperative ecopolitical contentment

Cross-Reading

I’m reading The Evolving Self:
A Psychology for the Third Millennium,
by Czikszentmihalyi,
and How the West [sadly] Came To Rule:
The Geopolitical Origins of Capitalism,
Alexander Anievas and Kerem Nisanciogla
at the same time.

Czikszentmihalyi (C) wears academic labels of Positive Psychology,
interested in why and when and where our psyche’s do cooperatively flow best,
and when differentiated ego-identities are more likely to get in the way
of mental happiness optimization,
a co-empathic nondual bliss zone.

Anievas and Niscanciogla (A&N), well, it’s complicated,
but Anievas wears a political scientist label,
and is interested in why and when and where differentiated economic and political forces are more competitively successful,
winning in the militaristic and racist international volumes of violent comparative history.
This ecopolitical story unfolds unevenly empowered by resilience of ecosystemic balance
between healthy land and workers
and multicultural consumer-producer harmony,
at least on the more matriarchal home front of transgenerational nurturance,
formation,
WinWin familial and/or tribal, and/or feudal ecopolitics.

Here, international power relations grow up
to become the proud military-capital invested parents
of their prodigal children,
racial-cultural elites playing WinLose survivalist evolution
against internal-flow health of non-elite bioregions.
It remains unclear whether these Western Winners might have chosen to optimize more inclusive WinWin flow
by leading with cooperative ecopolitical empathic trust strategies;
just as this is often unclear within our day-to-day family feuds,
or even the LeftYang-RightYintegral battles
written across each human heart.

I start wondering if C’s co-arising forces of ego-differentiation and Self-with-Other harmonic flow opulence could,
on a wider, more geopolitical, scale,
be dynamically equivalent to A&N’s uneven ecopolitical health maturation
and integral flow of wealth,
ebbing and flowing international trends toward capital-rich nutrients.

If so, then these same appositional duo-dynamos are at work in Yang force
with Yin flow,
Left MindBody dominance with RightBrain elder-sacred economic recession,
and yet within this larger stage
the personal integrity possibilities of Left-Right geopolitical mindbody ecobalance remains.
At least imaginatively;
rather like a Thought Experiment of spectrum-relativity.

Each geopolitical phylogenic development process
begins baptized in a nurturing health-wealth matriotic economy
because this is true for each of us as ego-identified.
We might stand within historical reason
beginning with Elder RightBrain’s temporal-only center,
more autonomic and bilaterally-bicamerally intuitive.
RightBrain intuition could be an important source for Positive Psychology’s healthy nutritional flow patterns and rhythms
toward Self/Other integrity,
co-empathic trust as ecopolitically cooperative wealth.

In this time of urgent need to improve climate health,
rather than adding further pathological Yang LeftDominant competitions,
evolution’s phylogenic development invites healing through Yin-integrative flow,
reconnecting paradigmatic networks,
revolving our ego-eco deep learning YangEgo ebb
to more fully sustain
Yin’s eco-climate flow.

Another approach,
also ending in whatever “eco” means to you,
whether home or Rome or Earth or even the worship of capital itself,
is to notice that history is itself Yang Dominant,
as Yin-RightBrain speaks only the dialects of integrity’s relationship.
The search for Yang/Yin balance is, in this sense,
a search for ecopolitical domestic Left/Right justice with peace flow harmony,
deeply learned and held by the daily non-event miracles
of nonhistory’s matriotically integral evolutions
of sustained climate health
continuing to struggle with monocultural
LeftBrain militaristic and competing capitalistic history of WinLose wrongs,
of climate pathology.

This does not say,
nor imply,
that gender climates
and racial climates
and military climates
and economic climates
are all the same difference.
Nor does this suggest one is more important than the other.
That would be a YangDominant process of differentiation.

Needed now, for multicultural polypathic deep learning,
is Yin’s integral DNA/RNA solidarities
of double-binding (0)sum temporal-evolution-incarnating fractals
framing eternity signs of octave torus
matriotic integral and patriotic external refining eco-harmonics,
regeneratively guiding climate health
away from climate pathologies,
both psychological and geopolitical.

The Taoist Stands Up

So, yes, I’m a Taoist
A lotta’ people ask me about what that means,
to be a Taoist.

And, I usually ask
What do you mean,
what does it mean?
Who said it was supposed to mean anything,
or even everything?
You must be a notnot Taoist,
everything’s supposed to mean something.

Well, you’re always goin’ on about the bad-boy nihilists
and their WinLose economic and political games
of climate pathology
as if this is more dissonant noise,
so I guess I figured,
if you’re against nihilism,
then you have to be for some meaning or purpose,
maybe even some grand polypathically inclusive design,
ecologically sustainable repurpose,
who knows?
But, you know, something…
and not just nothing.

Oh, sorry.
I think you meant to ask me what I am for.
If you recall,
you asked what does it mean to be a Taoist,
originally
Yes?

Well, if you’re a Taoist,
and that means not a nihilist,
then aren’t those two ways of asking the same question
of your existential meaning?

Oh, Lord, I hope not!
Taoism is about as existential
as high school math is ecologically organic.

I’m not sure I follow either half of those organic chemistry equations,
but anyway,
are you avoiding my curiosity question?

yes, the question about what does it mean to me to be a Taoist?
Well, that’s the tricky wu-wei part,
there are an infinite number of ways I might define this (0)-soul

but, essentially,
if you realize that to become a Taoist
also means to notnot be a LeftBrain DominatingYang AntiEarth Taoist,
then you begin to RightBrain get the economic and political,
as ecological
and nutritional
and healthy
and climate health
and creation story of YangSpaceLeft/YinTimeRight
EcoBalancing Tao (0)’s SpaceTime
for a better Revolutionary TransMillennial History of Health Conjecture.

OK, there for a minute you had me,
but I still get hung up on the co-arising nondual ecosystemic geometry of zeroism stuff,
not to mention the equivalent resonance of Group with Game Theory.

Not to worry.
If any of that is important toward your own polypath,
then it’s also notnot ego/eco-balancing,
LeftYang with Elder Right Yintegral.
We’re all on the same DNA/RNA multiculturing
as polyculturingly nutritional evolutionary journey.

Talking Mirrors

I’m a fairly active charter member
of Connecticut’s Medical Marijuana Program,
qualifying because I’m also one of the oldest HIV+ survivors in the U.S.

In fact,
not a single cell within my entire organism
would have been brought to you without the miracles of chemistry.
So blame Big Pharma,
you would not be the first
but you might be the last.
You never know,
you could get lucky.
Find a bottom-line its all about me corporation
prepared to listen to people
as if we might become reasonable advocates for healthier climates,
rather than mere consumers of pathological therapies.

Anyway, I’ve been sick off and on,
mostly on,
since the beginning of November
so I’ve also been pretty much stoned.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, I’m not sure
Probably both.
I’m also probably the oldest HIV+ Taoist survivor
and Taoists always have to pretend both sides of the mirror
might have worthwhile reflective potential.
WuWei quasi-fortunately,
rather than being too sick with respiratory issues to get stoned,
I’m too stoned to remember I’m sick.

Despite being retired,
I don’t have time to be sick anyway,
in large part because my youngest of four kids
is a girl with wicked Oppositional Defiant Disorder;
a label she defies.
Not because she’s opposed to labels,
but because she thinks she is perfectly ordered
as the rest of us losers might better get with her program.

She likes PresidentElect Trump
because he looks and sounds familiar,
as prehensile grabby economic and political leaders
were meant to be.

For my young teenage daughter,
ODD is not a disorder,
it is a religion
into which she was baptized
by Fetal Alcohol Full Immersion
at a fairly first trimester young embryonic age.

From her I have learned
there fortunately is no wimpy God,
but we do have one hell of a fire-breathing feminist Goddess
when we refuse to help her clean her nightmare
she calls a bedroom.

I tried to point out the inconsistency
of supporting a PresidentElect
who also refuses to help us clean our planet,
but this, apparently, is the voice of a wimpy God
who does not,
or should not,
keep on talking to the Fire Goddess hand.

This morning I was helping her get ready for school,
combing out her spiky hair.
She’s part AfricanAmerican porcupine.
We were standing in front of a large wood-framed, beveled mirror
that looks, perhaps only because I’m stoned,
like something out of Snow White
associated with her StepMom,
the witchy queen with Oppositional Defiant Disorder.

My daughter loves Snow White,
probably because she bossed around the seven dwarfs
in their own home,
(a politically incorrect position I do not recommend you ever even think of trying to get away with)
and forced them to listen to her own crappy music preferences
at a full amphitheater range of ear-splitting volume.

Be that as it too loudly may,
I asked her if she ever talks to her mirror,
asking, Who is the fairest of them all?

Yes.

And, does the mirror talk back?

Yes. It says,
You need to clean your room!

That’s strange.
My mirror has been saying the same thing
ever since early November.

Complexities of Consciousness

Herein, the evolutionary positive psychologist’s voice is that of C,
leaning sometimes toward the yang-ego identity side,
while the evolutionary ecopolitician’s voice,
doing his best to play WinWin ecotherapist, is D.

C: The best way to live is by learning to control [Ego-Left] consciousness
D: by also deep learning to ecologically extend RightBrain flowing ecoconsciousness.

To do so, evolution,
whether personal or political larger stage,
cultivates certain permacultural-multicultural nurturing skills.

C: Ego acquires a discipline that at first may seem like mindless ritual
D: to acquire integrative flow,
at first feeling too mindfully rich with interdependently intuited trusting truths,
senses,
expressions,
analogies,
nutritional potential,
vibrancy,
buoyancy,
bliss,
even manic loss of clear-cut identity boundaries.

But, together, these Yang-Left with Yin-Right conversations,
ecological health discernments,
slow-grow integrative deductive-vertical
and inductive-bilateral
spiraling revolutionary flow
with our universal-Yang/Yintegral unitarian order;
where Yang is to universal patriotic political wealth
as Yin integrates unitarian matriotic nutritional health-flow.

C: Unless a person learns to control [Left-Right Balancing therapeutic] consciousness,
he or she cannot achieve harmony with the cosmos,
but will forever remain prey
to the random forces of biology and society.
D: And,
as we all ecologically learn to both control and communicate
LeftYang/RightYintegral harmonic ego/eco-consciousness,
Earth will continue evolving toward diastatic ecological harmony
within our shared interdependent deductive/inductive climate flow,
but will remain LeftBrain dominantly vulnerable to co-arising nondual coincidental pathological faces
of Business As Competitively Usual
economics and political divestment of sustained health relational time,
and, oh yes, money.

C: Nor will we know how to direct evolution toward greater complexity
unless our [ego] consciousness becomes more complex.
D: Nor will we polypathically know how to co-mentor multiculturing evolution
toward greater regenerativity
unless our ego/eco-conscious energetic balance
becomes more integratively extended.

C: What makes us different from other animal species
is the variety and mutual dependence of our psychic processes.
D: And
what makes us polypathically and ecologically similar
to other primates
is this same integrative-symbiotic variety
and multiculturing interdependence
of newer deductive/reductive Left-Yang patriarchal dominance
emerging from Elder Right’s matriarchally embryonic nurturance.

C: Evolution is the [deductively rewarded] history
of the complexity of living matter.
D: And, EarthTribe’s revolutions, within evolution,
are the inductively integrative matriarchally nurtured regenerativity
of ecologically extending families,
networks,
ecosystems destined for multigenerational Paradise,
predestined by embryonic DNA/RNA solidarity
of reweaving healthy wealth memories;
time as light’s fertility
with dualdark aptic-integrative hibernation,
in-between,
MidWay dancing wu-wei CoMentors.

C: We cannot easily advocate a certain preference for complexity,
or relinquish our [ego] responsibility for helping evolution along
D: by seizing our regenerative ego/eco-conscious cooperative opportunities,
investing our eco-integrative RightBrain invitations
to co-mentor multiculturing polypathy along.
