Tragic Climates for Comedians

If we invested more educational mentoring time
sharing our own mixed-use and neglectful abuse
poetic wisdom stories,
and less time memorizing exegetical LeftBrain histories,
we might more cooperatively learn to live healthier together

An under-exploited difference between comedy and tragedy
may discover you have a story to vulnerably share
more than recover from some dogma you compulsively need

to notice the primary audience for poetry is poets,

yet for cooperative economics, everyone
of all species
and all regenerations of time’s health-wealth potential.

This feels like both an EarthDay risk
and a post-millennial therapeutic climate opportunity.

Poetry and philosophy are written,
and most broadly distributed,

cooperatively-reinvested,
with other non-elite poetic and philosophical souls in mind,
some with poetic and wisdom-loving skill-sets themselves,
and some who have only hungry unfulfilled cooperative-yearning souls.

Many of these hungry,
more chronically stressed,

casualties,
are among our homeless,
our uncounted unemployed and under-vocationed,
our brothers and sisters,
our children,
with more mental pathologies
than mental health.

How could we hope to teach,

co-redeem,
healthy and wealthy science and math,

by removing their historical roots
in poetry and philosophical experience

emerging from optimally regenerative WinWin ego/ecotherapies?

It feels ecopolitically
and intellectually dishonest
to further subsidize the distopian assumption of Might Makes Right

when Earth’s multicultural evidence

building co-invested nutritional wealth
evolves and revolves so regeneratively redundant
and reiterative

Our tragedy is not just that patriarchal competition culture
is currently overpopulating the FirstWorld supremacist face of Earth,
although that is a profound climate health issue,
Climates of struggling health
and humanely unfulfilled landscapes of potential wealth
are even more seminally rooted

currently in last historical gasp
of over-populating each of our capitalist monoculturing days

Making Hay

Make hay while the sun shines.

I grew up as a closeted polypathic nature-mystic
on a marginal, at best, family farm
in Michigan.

This farm was my embryonic home,
an extension of my vastly loved and nurturing Mother,
more than my workahoic homophobic Father,
who most emphatically did create a patriarchal god in his own image.
His farm was for slave labor.
Her farm was a garden for growing healthy wealth.

I loved Mom’s Multi-ReGenerational Family Farm
like an extension of my ego’s mind and body.

And, like a turtle without a shell,
when I first headed off to Ann Arbor’s University
I brought my happy and healthy ego with me,
eager to begin my new adventure story,
yet I emotionally stumbled,
felt naked and exposed and depressed,
for lack of my embryonic habitus,
my eco-center,
my home,
my interdependently embracing love of sacred spaces
and their seasons of regeneration and degeneration,
growing still and fading without ego me
conjoining.

I was homesick,
but not for Nurturing Nanny
and Fearsome Father
or even Perfect Princess Sister, whom I cherished,
whom I could talk and listen to as whim might invite,
and, although somewhat more of a sore detachment from our farmhouse interior spaces,
my disorienting alienation from Ann Arbor
was as a too-urban outside place
just as my recreating resident embrace
favored my dorm and classroom youth-learning multicultural race
against more oppressive monoculturing times.

To this day,
despite a six week backpacking hike
along California’s Pacific Coast Trail,
plundered by surreal vistas and fragrance and light and unspeakable beauty,
when I imagine a meadow, a field, a woodland,
a pond,
a barn,
an unpaved road,
a gravel drive,
a herd of cattle,
a pen of pigs,
a coop of chickens,
a litter of kittens with eyes still sealed shut,
I recall iconic scenes from this sacred originating home,
my eco-memory
calling my doubly-bound ego-enculturing self
back home
to where we permaculturally began together,
making hay while the sun did shine.

To Democratic Parties and WorkPlaces

I just read that U.S. Democrats stand in solidarity
against Trump,
but what else?
What is democracy for?

First,
democracy, rather than republican plutocracy,
here confuses united against our competitive opponents
with solidarity,
which must be for both ourselves and our appositional tensions.

Second,
democracy is empathic trust,
rather than mistrust,
much less active distrust;
so democracy stands in solidarity
with multiculturing regenerativity,
with wealth optimization as health maximization.

So,
please,
if our parties and cooperatively-owned workplaces
wear the label of “we are pro-democracy”
then rest assured that being for healthy multicultural evolution
and against degenerative monoculturing competitions
is a humanitarian platform
not limited to gathering votes from 50% of the humane-natural population,
but capable of drawing every vote
from every mind and body of age
to become pro-health for all Earth’s species,
including this more humane variety.

Organic Time Travel

My body restrains my mind.
Logic as ecologically constrained,
naturally rational,
like rain does not fall up
unless I am standing on my head.

Embodiment also limits my mind.
Imagination often resists such sparse frugality of powers,

I can imagine pleasure of mind
capable of visiting China for an hour one day
and one night,
a particular coastal town,
a particular family,
a particular other body
looking back at me
imagining how he would look and sound
to someone like me
from a coastal town in the U.S.
And then my mind’s eyes become his,
looking out at his loved ones
and actively distrusted ones
and his vistas and landscapes and climate smells
and hopes and fears.

Then the tip of South Africa
in the next hour,
then visiting both Syria and Korea
five hundred years ago
to explore constancy and change
in how we look and sound,
smell and taste,
how we feel trusting and mistrusting
and how we might feel about my RealTime ego-mind,
and then visit again five hundred years from now
to notice in this same variety of ego-
and eco-conscious ways.

Yet, in all these disembodied images
my frequent flyer
yet frugal ego remains relentlessly enclosed
by limitations of my own body’s continuous memory
of ego-eco centering mind,
favoring simplicity of transparent confluence,
aesthetics of balance and symmetric full-color harmony,
ethics of mutual time travel
empathically trusting and mistrusting out
then breathing back in with equanimity.

Becoming extended out through space and time,
only and finally to come back to rest
within multiculturally edified
yet ecopolitically simplified creolizing presence
of still ego/eco centering me,
hoping you will love how I look and sound,
smell and taste,
feel and empathically trust
at least as much as my mind can
comprehensively engage this phylogenic embodiment

Prayer’s positive potential is not as substitute for planning.

Prayer might be a prelude to planning,
and might be an appropriate postlude
to fully implemented plans,
whether psalm of gratitude
or requiem of remorse
depending on healthy and pathological outcomes.

Even better,
some gratitude and humble remorse,
held together,
demonstrating we have learned something
from our nondual co-arising trial and error
and yet continue improving
our further therapeutic refinements.

But, whether my life plans are what happened
while Earth continuously revolved in other distressing directions,
or I continue learning to plan somewhat more cooperatively
and multiculturally
and inductively and deductively co-arising
togetherly more than separately,
prayer is the active planner’s co-redemptive bookend,
Alpha and Omega double-binding points of reorientation,
not my personal How to Save the World book,
much less exegetically seminal scripture.

Prayer is my bread and liturgical garnish,
but not the red meat
