In Love and War

You’ve heard it said?
All’s fair in love and war!

Well,
most ethicists,
even war-mongering philosophers,
disagree with the “All’s fair in war” part,

As do just everyday Earth-patriotic folks
who loyally prefer not to be bombed
and automatically rifled
just because some crackpot(s)
in the nearest capital city plutocracy
decide to make war,
using our kids and tax dollars,
instead of love,
co-passion,
solidarity with Earth’s pro-life health.

All ethicists,
and folks who find compassion
to responsibly risk vulnerability
of a loving relationship,
disagree with the “All’s fair in love” side
of this unmindful equation.

Fairness, equity, of powers to freely say
Yes
or No
to another’s invitation into passion
is a prerequisite to sustainable love,
grace,
mutual integrity of thought and feeling,
regardless of how short- or long-term projected.

It would be more valid
and validating
to observe,
All is at risk in both love and war,
but, unlike violent acts of hate
and fear
and anger
and greed,
risks of love are often fairly balanced
with opportunities for growing healthy cooperative resilience
together,
and certainly not warring unfairly apart.

To Hug, Or Not To Hug

She is young
and proud
and crying with despair.

I want to give her a hug,
to share a mutual hug,
opposite of a hostile shrug
instead of caring with each other,
To cooperatively embrace
recommitted to responsible compassionate health care
giving
and receiving.

But,
I need to ask her permission first
to cross this physical and spiritual boundary
between older and younger,
male and female,
employer and employee,

To ask her if she would feel obligated
to take care of my need to reach out
and reassure her we are in this life together,

Or could she freely say,
Not right now?
Without guilt or concern that taking care of me
could or should be more important
than taking care of herself,
her wounded past,
her coping skills protecting self-esteem
against sometimes smothering needs of others
wanting to be fed,
especially authority figures
too often invested in Win/Lose games
rather than Win/Win compassionate therapies.

But,
now is not a proper time to ask,
When she is in emotional distress.
Could she freely receive or deny an invitation
to mutual embrace?
For reassurance we will not be broken by this,
and perhaps this is an opportunity to grow together,
mutually healed by solidarity,
co-passionate intent,
reassurance,
mutual access, physical and spiritual,
with cooperative boundaries yet to be responsibly explored
through more robust compassion.

Even so,
I wish I could be free to ask her
if we might share a co-redemptive hug
rather than lurking in the wings of this chronic crisis stage
with only her tears
and my box of tissues
to speak how much we care
for a better tomorrow
together
rather than continuing too defensively apart.

What are fair and effective nudges
for too much freedom of weaponed wounding speech?

Maybe equal freedom to listen nutritionally
and not poisonously?

What’s a fair response
to competitive over-investment in fear-mongering–
Threats to hold your breath ’til everyone sees red?

What’s fair, right and left,
for government freedom to WinUs
by LosingThem,
by punishing Them
and not Us
for toxic messes made together?

What’s a fair nudge
to our collective enculturing WeSelf
for losing both Us and Them
through unnecessarily aggressive agendas?
Replacing social sanctuaries
with sadistic incarcerations,
Substituting shrinking wellness
with swelling commodification.

Polypaths co-acclimate tracks back through WiseElder
co-passionate forests
following our rich neural well-bred histories
retold through Her ReCreation Stories.

Music
poetry
dance,
all the Beauty and Wisdom,
Mythic and Logos Voices
therapeutically nudge us toward we-healthing cooperativity,
ego-terminal cases of co-passion tracks,
re-telling past journeys slow, then fast.

Rhythmic nudging relationships,
personal
and politically multigenerational,
not growing in passion
are dying through dispassionate lack
of cooperative investment.

A significant difference between retirement,
leisure,
and modern industrial automated competing life,
Business As Aggressively Usual,
is:
When younger I needed an early morning alarm
to nudge me into beginning to meditate.
Now, older,
I need a resonant chime noon nudge
to invite me to end my daily resilient medication,
to continue more active PM education,
to cultivate non-violent internal
and external
communication.

Internal and external governments
best start nudging agreements small
and build out from what we are healthy doing,
where we’re already growing,
when we are most likely to feel at peace,
satisfied with integral me/we
engaged mornings and afternoons,
possibly even temporarily enchanting evenings,
curious building courageous will
to find sufficient investment speed of NowTime
celebrating our already existing Sabbath resilience,
weaving co-operativity,
knitting compassion networks, memory fabric
transubstantiating in/ex-formation
flowing nutritional effluence,
dualdark breathing
breeding in
out harmonious Left
Right consciousness listening
especially for outdoor sacred liturgical voices
best heard through small progressive ears of a healthy child
still hopeful of WinWin resonant bicamerality,
inside and outside
between growing ego-conscious universal paradigms
and uniting eco-home awareness,

Yang nudging Yin
humoring Yang’s strong impatience
to restore EarthJustice
red through green
in ultra-nonviolent revolutions
for/of co-passion’s peace,
internal/external.

Taoist EcoPassions

In Taoism
as I have experienced it so far
embracing ancient nature/spirit wisdom
of Yang strength gospel anthems,
ecologically singing in all four seasons of color,
theologically dancing,
psychologically balancing,
biologically dominant and recessive reweaving combinations,

All these invite Sabbath memory
co-arising Holonic YinFlow

BiLaterally multiculturing everyday Sundays
in and from and for now
and forward,
and back into original baptism in
cooperatively shared nutritional economies
emerging from SabbathEve’s matriarchal womb,

Interdependently regenerational EarthWomb,
cooperatively-managed,
ego-egg and eco-conceivers,
sacred environmental receivers,
and givers
of health care practice
with WinWin healthy baby/mom co-insurance.

Or,
having a really bad
toxic
pathological
entropic
degenerative moment,
or day,
or week,
maybe a month or more
of chronic anxiety
about climate changes uninvited,
internally
and/or externally felt too-pregnant.

Wounded Passions

Starting this day
already seduced by full-color compassion,
with some competing-for-time distractions
in the more sadly usual recessive role,
raises wellness questions
with healthy co-passioning answers,
responsive responses more resiliently co-present
than pathological ego-manic fears
about my immediate physical future
and anger about our collective lack of compassionate history
and inclusive culture,
educational enrichments
and social norms
and active multiculturing values

Spreading virally across this
and every
compassioned day.

While finger shaping wounded daughter’s wild
African-American mane,
and walking hand in insecure hand
up our gravel driveway,
I flash back to last night’s conversation
with Freud on my left
lecturing Jung on my right
about his SuperEgo
driven by patriarchal compassion,

Which Jung felt was a soft oxymoron,
hidden as yin
on a bold sunny
war-mongering summer day,

While Freud moved on to his Id,
with LeftBrain dominant narcissism
but also, perhaps,
recessive matriarchal compassion
he had not recognized
while male embodied,

Which Jung co-passioned
Perhaps Freud’s Id resembles LaoTse’s bipolar narcissistic Yang Supremacy
headed for an Anima-flow fall
into co-passionate love,
if RightBrain compassionate feelings, of Jaynes,
and bilateral thoughts, of De Bono,
could ever find enough compassion together
to grow more holistic integrity
of positive therapeutic co-passions,

While Freud had returned front and center
to egocentric narcissism

Which Jung felt speaking Yang
to co-passionate listening Yin,
Animus
with dipolar co-arising AnimaFlow

Sometimes enchanted with positively resonant swells
and sometimes negatively distracted
by dissonant
distant
repressed
suppressed
unimpressed valleys

Dips in resilient positive communication trends
disturbed by dissonant negative resistance
of LeftBrain Animus narcotics,
narcissism,
colonialism
patriarchalism
sexism
racism,
fears about missing out on future healthy regenerations
and anger about having lost Animus with Anima
resilient co-passion.

Meanwhile,
Freud went back to his ongoing compassionate conversation
with his Jungian Anima RightBrain SuperEgo-Eco self.

Funny,
wild tangled communication potential
shaping into something more than too-aggressive pulling
and shoving
and shouting
rather than hand in wounded hand co-passion
on her AnimaMundi way
into a cooperative SuperEgo and competitive Id
ambivalent classroom,

Preaching Freudian SuperEgo resilience of compassion
but, like obedient capital-trained LeftBrain economists
and parents
and teachers,
and Yangish evangelistic preachers,
mentoring rather too much ego-manic
narcissistic powers to over-rule
where positive ego/eco-passions could mutually arise
healthier
wealthier futures of Earth compassion,
breathing in
and out again
the wounded polypathic same.

I’m hearing considerable chatter about patriarchal narcissism,
which is, indeed, absorbing and darkly fascinating;

But, I do wish we could invest at least twice as much energy
on analyzing climate therapeutic potential
of ecofeminist compassion,
re-synchronizing Time’s sacred-secular co-investments
re-combining healthy bicameral minds
re-linking wealthy co-passionate bodies,
domestic
and external.

Empowering Passions

In passionate psychology,
powers of proactive compassion
are generally thought of in personal
and familial
interdependently relational
perspectives.

In political science,
large-scale powers for proactive compassion
resist reactive competition to merely overpower the opposition,
preferring pro-active energy for liberal love
constrains against investments in conserving capital-hoarding capacities
feeding and fueling multi-generational greed of privileged inheritance,

Social altruism and political violence, passion’s contrasting powers
might restoratively or retributively justify
ethically valid and morally effective resolutions
even if not immediately peaceful and universally democratic,

Robust political powers
are typically thought of as the great and mighty public sector
applying state and national perspectives,
stories,
power histories advocating cooperative public policies
and commercially marketing unnecessarily risky investments in egocentric competition chaos,
reductive consumerism,
conflicting materialism,
greed,
mendacity,
hubris,
anthro-centrism,
aggressive nationalism,
violent racism,
deadly fascism,
enslaving colonialism,
toxic patriarchalism, etc.

In psychology,
we can easily extend cooperative power
to neurology’s integrity of positive energy,
active internal networking,
contrasted with disintegrity of negative power,
fading energy thoughts,
extinguishing co-empathic feelings,
feeding on internal climates of hostility,
paranoia,
rabidity.

In political science
we could extend power as analogous to economic energy,
cooperatively democratic investment in actively healthy compassion,
investment in integrity,
and a darker competitive run-away dysfunctional
nationalistic
supremacist energy unmindful of deadly ecological chaos,
delusional divestments away from nutritionally balanced systems,
disturbing dis-integrity of public sector negative energy,
entropic
nihilistic
health-threatening policies,
procedures,
competitive educational protocol,
psychological preferences for Win/Lose behaviors
and thinking and assumptions underlying unmitigated
fight or flee capitalism.

National health power, and not pathological disempowered feelings,
extend positive energy climates
of active democratic co-passionate WinWin missions

Antithetical to reactive
plutocratic capitalism,
kleptomanic exploitation,
A more narcissistic,
sometimes even sadistic,
sense of fear-mongering
hate-marketing
anger-imaging sedition
from global promise of healthy power futures
for integrity’s compassionate eternal ZeroSum energy,
not not interdependent organic neural roots.

When our individual actions
do not reflect our personal powers for extending compassion,
then we can choose to train
and plan
and network for healthy positive multiculturing change
systems.

But, what to do
when public sector actions,
choices,
priorities,
do not reflect one’s compassionate power/energy political training
committed to international EarthEmpowerment
deep learning,
wide-passioned teaching,
polypathic cooperative education,
co-passionately non-violent listening before speaking?

How do democratically faithful psychological individuals
and compassionate faith-in-action political communities
restore healthy peace
and non-sectarian informed justice for all EarthTribes?

Indigenous,
and yet emigrating;
Immigrant,
and yet already green sanctuaried;
Healthy-life pilgrims,
guest migrant laborers, producers, consumers, families,
evolving communities whose only talking-walking labor
is to survive competitive
commercialized
retributive justice normative educational systems
suspicious of diversely compassionate climates
and politically cooperative co-passionate teachers
advocating long-term green regenerative synergy,
secular with sacred nature/spirit communions,
wealth of authentic long-term health paradigms.

How do we cooperatively and resiliently continue
to financially and communally support
government leadership
compliant, not defiant,
with universally shared non-sectarian values
for a democratically inclusive health and happiness prosperity
of resilient energy systems
rooted in organically compassionate historic constitutions?

Where do we draw the compassionate line
around anti-democratic narcissistic violations
of ego- and eco-therapeutic constitutions?
Positively professed for true national democratic health
truly secular/sacred prosperous
non-sectarian happiness
enchantment
ecstasy
WinWin bliss
everyday loving and mindfully interdependent passion.

to create and develop non-narcissistic You?

Rudolf the Ginger ReignDeer

Rudolf is mysteriously born in a manger
with a flaming red nose,
and eyes,
and ears,
and hair,
everywhere.

Gingers are rare
among his DeerTribe
as is his empathic capacity to know he is going where,
how to get there,
and about how long it could take
regardless of direction
or increasingly massive winter storms
as Earth’s dark final Solstice
ominously approaches collapse,

The opposite of Rapture
for all evangelists
and good news prophets
with politically correct monotheistic
retributive justice revenge passions
of a patriotic white nationalist
bitter wind nature.

Up until now,
Santa has relied on his GPS
especially for crossing polluted and rising oceans
and massively expanding deserts
where no people could live and prosper.

But, as the North Pole continues to melt
and winter night storms cover most of the northern hemisphere
Santa’s GPS joins the landfill,
unreliable for crossing ocean-size blizzards
and continental sand storms.

He consults his ReignDeer
in the Transportation Department.

After considerable non-violent discernment,
and a lot of back and forth with the Health and Safety Political Department
and the Communication and Marketing Correctness Department,
they recommend Rudolf to Santa
To see if he might be able to help guide his sleigh
of healthy gifts
despite Rudolf’s apparent deviant health issues
and his probable wealth of empathic internal voices
and his presumed challenges of politically incorrect humility.

Frankly, Rudolf is a bit queer,
especially when the sun lights up his nose
to the vibrant color of a red-hot coal.

So Santa asks Rudolf
if he might lead the way through growing storms of violent winds,
freezing ice and blinding sand.

Not by myself, he replies.
This is too much weight to bear
with flying sacred grace,
But if we might find
and teach
and listen to others with these same gingerish gifts,
then we might develop a leadership team
to fly far more than sufficient health resilience
for winter storm night skies
and shaking roofs.

Santa also asks Rudolf if he has any questions,
So Rudolf inquires about health and safety insurance
sufficient to cover Santa’s global transportation risks
and communion gifting opportunities.

Santa thinks this an unusual question
from young and apparently robust Rudolf,
but also a wise one
far beyond his ginger years.

Rudolf wonders if these health issues
came from his maternal grandmother
who may have been a violently violated ginger
but he had known her only after she turned silver
sparkling as a star

Twinkling warnings
of this post-millennial final Solstice,
when political aspirations for global healthy happiness
trails and travel
shrink to survival opportunities
activating more modest aging hope
to at least avoid catastrophic climate storms
of unsurpassed violence,
politically incorrect chaos,
tidal streams bereft of faith
in everyday sacred gifts.

Santa,
perhaps also of red-nosed ginger Tribe,
feels reassured by Rudolf’s hope
for health-optimizing faith,
both humanely non-sectarian
and divinely balancing ancient patriarchal mists
of wealthiest commercial night vision
with matriarchal transporting trends
toward gifting communal friendships,
strength and flow
for growing climates of political
and economic integrity.

Won’t you guide our sleigh of life tonight?

Yes, Rudolf replies with healthy glee,
especially at this messianic Solstice time
of this, my ancient ginger life.
How could we do less communal wealth
than actively hope for this night
and everyday health
of ginger polypath enlightening gifts?
