Old Forest Tribes

Old rotting trees,
corrupt degenerating logs,
give birth to more forms of diverse life
than they did in their most transcendent living moments
brought to them by Elder networking root systems,
and Father Sun’s most radiant embrace,
and Mistress Earth’s most abundant flow of moisture;
short of catastrophic floods.
Just right flowing strength of healthing wealth.

And each of us humane egos
hopes for the same;
That our regenerative legacy of mind and spirit
will long outlast our bodies
corrupting toward alone
within this shrill cacophony of growing tribal fears,
angers about injustices of Earth’s redistributing,
scandalously democratic,
grace.

Artifacts of tribal violence
predict legacies more like old native forest fires
than slower degenerative effects of wind and rain
and hungry insect tribes of Earth.
Cremation of regenerative destiny
rather than burial,
yet even here
humane ashes
enrich sacred fertility.

Earth’s minerals feed matriarchal fungi
as Sun’s light fuels patriarchal algae.

In this lichen forest of our anthrocentric
and animal
and tree
and plantation lives and deaths,
alone speaks lonely fear of violent burned-out death,
a revolutionary moment
within Earth’s redolent forest
of potential timeless relationship.

Absolute,
like autonomy,
are words not spoken
in old growth forest
life within death.

ReWriting History

Life explores integrity,
hoping to fulfill
all polypathic curiosities.

How might history rewrite humanity
if those who adventured out
and eagerly invaded
felt more reluctant to dominate?
More sure that their long-term survival
in this, or any, non-native land
required them to first learn those languages at hand,
and adopt them as their creolizing own.

Would European colonization outward
look more like global metamorphosis,
transubstantiating communion
inward?

Would the language of democracy
recognize no dualistic divide
between cooperative health
and co-investing wealth of cultures?

If invading civilizations
had been wiser
we could have earlier seen
curiosity best listens and learns native civilities
from what has been exegetically in cultural place,
before knowing how and what and when and where to displace
our own first language preconceptions.

How could I communicate my invasive wisdom
into your language of experience
of hope and anxiety
unless I have first learned your expressions,
verbal and nonverbal,
pitched and rhythmed by enculturing flows
of Earth’s nurturing
and restricting
natures?

How would U.S. democracy unfold
in First Nation language?
Where Earth
and water
and wind
and fire
individually perhaps, and certainly together,
have veto power
over healthy WinWin anthro-choice.

And, animal and tree spirits
share our prime universal suffrage,
voting yes through healthy balancing increase
and disinvesting No through internal climates of decline.

We would learn language
for trusts and mistrusts
of late summer trees
already falling leaves
turned yellow
along colonizing lanes of diesel language.

We would not deny
internal and external climates
of growing rabid pathology,
idolatries of LeftBrain dominant patriarchal capitalism,
speaking harshly
yet deniable abstractly
of polysyllabic demise,
dissonance of denying language
expressing First Nation climates
inside as outside
up and down
back and forth imaginations
within enculturing languages of time.

Healthy democracy would not merely debate
reasonable extremities of over-heating Earth’s survival,
but would center focus on regeneratively rediscovering
past and future optimizing reasons
toward reweaving nature-spirits of discerning climate health
as optimizing wealth
both inside yin nurturing
and outside yang cooperative,
universally uniting democratic control.

Explorers seeking further curiosities
recreating what’s next,

The Best Way To Go

When I was a new seminarian
I had a favorite parish priest mentor
who told me the best way to die
is while having an orgasm.

I wasn’t sure if I could ask
why he was so exclamatory sure
of his nakedly compromising position.
I did not really know him all that well,
although he seemed to be a swell up kind of Father.

Perhaps I looked a bit nervous
because he hastened to reassure me
the reason he is enamored of orgasms,
of diastatic experience,
is because they transcend our language boundaries
between Eros and Agape.

Orgasms are ecstatic climatic events,
warm full-bodied memories
of mindbody interdependence,
of holistic cooperative ecopolitics within
every organ and cell,
muscle and happy little ego-subsystem
groaning out this profoundly universal Yes!
with both LeftBrain audio-visual Eros
and RightBrain universally interdependent
neural-sensory climate of Agape.

I didn’t know what to say to this bicameral-sexual therapy.
But, if this is an option for how to die,
it does sound like the only good one I have ever heard.

So I said that.
And then my mentor suggested I go home
and practice
living that same way.

EarthDay Planning v Praying

Prayer’s positive potential is not as substitute for planning.

Prayer might be a prelude to planning,
and might be an appropriate postlude
to fully implemented plans,
whether psalm of gratitude
or requiem of remorse
depending on healthy and pathological outcomes.

Even better,
some gratitude and humble remorse,
held together,
demonstrating we have learned something
from our nondual co-arising trial and error
and yet continue improving
our further therapeutic refinements.

But, whether my life plans are what happened
while Earth continuously revolved in other distressing directions,
or I continue learning to plan somewhat more cooperatively
and multiculturally
and inductively and deductively co-arising
togetherly more than separately,
prayer is the active planner’s co-redemptive bookend,
Alpha and Omega double-binding points of reorientation,
not my personal How to Save the World book,
much less exegetically seminal scripture.

Prayer is my bread and liturgical garnish,
but not the red meat
of ego/ecologically balanced regenerative planning.

Dismaying cold

possibly to dream of sequestering unpaid taxes

of personal and famiial and community regenerative self-governance resources
for thrival,
come this warmer, flowering Spring investment time.

Why is it,

with marginalized matriarchal-growing proletariat cooperative herstories,
understories of deep ecological learning Positive Deviant polypaths
toward SpringTime’s evolving eco-liberation for all EarthTribe;

about nihilistic-totalitarian future prospects
rather than healthier summer climates

Why is it,
