Cherishing DiaLogical Earth

More Yang/Yin Conversation with Adam Robersmith

Robersmith (p. 47, Justice On Earth):
“…science is showing us something important:
We are affecting our climate
and ecosystems
in ways that are detrimental to life
on the planet
and to how we live.”

Yin: Science and conscience
are discovering and uncovering important health wealth:
We are degenerating our climate
and formerly more robust ecosystems
in ways that are detrimental to life
and love
and win/win restorative justice
on Earth
and to how we could more non-violently live
cooperatively together
rather than competitively apart.

Robersmith: “We know that we need to change how we act as a species.”

Yin: We feel how we are transforming
how we do not win/win act
as if we cared about our own extended future
as a healthy and wealthy species.

Robersmith: “We should have changed as a nation long ago,
yet we have not.”

Yin: We could restore global justice as one EarthTribe identity,
yet LeftBrain Straight White Male Dominance
has not gone in this Both/And non-violent direction,
heuristically tolerating Either/Or
Ego v Eco
HealthySelf v WealthyOther
Left v Right intolerance.

Robersmith: “Scientists are offering research that has been confirmed repeatedly
and making predictions that should frighten us all into behaving
differently,
yet change is not coming as many of us would expect.”

Yin: Consciousness invites cooperative research
confirmed by redundant thoughts and feelings
predicting what will frighten and anger
and what could heal and ease us all
into inviting win/win cooperative eco-political ownership,
non-violently resilient.

Robersmith: “Research shows that our acts disproportionately affect the poor
and oppressed
all over the world,
yet we continue to use harmful technologies and resources.”

Yin: Consciousness bicamerally feels and knows
our win/lose left-brain dominant acts
disproportionately and adversely influence poor
and oppressed
and ourselves
non-elite populations all over Earth,
yet we continue to use toxic energy,
fuel,
violent technologies
and non-repurposed natural/spiritual resources.

Robersmith: “It seems that simply presenting information is not enough.”

Yin: It seems that presenting terrifying
run-and-throw-away
indigestible shame and blame information
is not enough.

Robersmith: “Scaring people with doomsday scenarios–
even if they are based on our very best knowledge–
does not produce sufficient change.”

Yin: Scaring ourselves with lose/lose doomsday scenarios–
even though rooted in our best democratic healthcare knowledge–
does not produce resonant
win/win gratitude attitude.

Robersmith: “In fact,
it often creates resistance.”

Yin: In cooperatively felt fact,
we create self-isolating
emotional shame and blame resistance
to violent messages of despair.

Robersmith: “Making pollution
and waste
and overconsumption sinful
or shameful
has some effect,
but not enough to change how we behave
as a culture
or make policy as a nation.”

Yin: Framing pollution
and waste
and disassociating from win-now/lose-future overconsumption
as anthropocentrically sinful
and elitist shameful
has some eco-political power,
but not sufficient to restore health
to how we behave as a communal
covenanted
sacred polyculture
or make policy as a state,
a locality,
a municipality,
an extended family.

Robersmith: “While these debates continue,
people around the world suffer
with changes they are unable to ameliorate,
and those with the least power
and resources
suffer most of all.”

While win/win-seeking dialogue does not continue,
EarthTribes competitively suffer
with isolating military-industrialized capitalism as usual
we are unable to heal,
and those people
and species
and regenerative macro-living systems with the least ego-resonant power
and privately-held resilience
and natural/spiritual
health/wealth resources
suffer most dualistically divided of all.

When Yin was growing down
and into belonging
still in EarthMother’s warm wet womb,
she followed her interdependent 0-wheels
of enscripted color and sound octaves,

Appreciation for multicultural sensory integrity,
primal relationships of sight and scale
felt polyphonic longing and/or belonging,
meta-physical creolization,
gratitude for polycultural dialogue
and consensual democratic circles
warm to discernment,
co-empathically seeking full-round consensus.

Meanwhile,
as Left-hemisphere dominant Yang
was colonizing out
and patriarching up,
he conserved 1-universal BusinessAsUsual monochrome
in triumphal shades of dark static non-elite nights
and peak triangulated wealth experiences of white
light
universally transcendent bright.

Yang thought in bipolar Either/Ors
of black or white
while Yin felt through dipolar Both/And
circles and cycles
spirals of nuanced multiculturing colors,
tones,
hues and felt cries
and sighs
and shy.

As they learned gratitude
for each Other’s 0/1 GoldenRule
and 1/0 GoldenRatio preferences of bipolar thought
and dipolar intersectional warm feelings of belonging
they deep learned democratic cooperative compassion
for healthy regenerativity
as positively and politically and economically
and ecologically and theologically
and analogically polypathic,

And mutually-owned disdain
for competitive win/lose longing,
reductive RightWing dominating seductive LeftWing
with aggressively monochromatic degenerativity,
negative paradigmatic dissonance,
both cognitively and affectively ineffective

Especially as Yin deeply repurposes growing down
and in
still under MotherEarth’s warming
wetting
multicoloring NonZero-Sum womb
loving democratic
meta-energetic
ecofeminist healing life.

Democracy On Fire

In “On Fire”
Naomi Klein reminds us
win/lose capitalism invites a collective action vacuum
and abhors restrictions on money-accumulating freedom,

But Earth,
a healthy global climate,
healthy ecosystems
invite regenerative win/win climax
of cooperatively nurturing health systems
and abhor inhumane definitions of “wealth”
as privately-held and autonomously sequestered currency
energy
natural resources
human resources
labor
equity
capital.

Climate health informs public sector values,
norms,
ecology of nutritional needs
and investment in cooperatively-held wants.

Capitalism’s monopolistic version of “wealth”
informs private sector values,
greedy and predative norms,
theology of transcendent jealousy
and divestment from sacred communion.

When Donald Trump successfully ran for President,
he explicitly ran against all things Obama,
against audacious hope in public sector cooperativism.

Like Nixon’s “Southern strategy”
this was a way
to effectively say
“I am for Straight-White-Evangelical-Male-privileged capitalism,
so I am your safest Business As Usual investment.”

This turns competitive debate
rather than cooperative dialogue,
and private sector CEO decision-making
rather than democratic grass-roots discernment,
and no public health-investment experience
into a “drain the socialist swamp” asset.

He did not mention
his nationalistic capitalism
is abhorrent to global climate health,
public health,
family health,
ecosystemic health,
ego-resilient health,
all of which are rooted in EarthJustice wealth,
regenerative action and win/win response
inviting cooperative social climax
within and between species
and all forms of natural/spiritual living energy systems.

When national Democratic Party leaders
declare objective NumberOne
for 2020 success
is to defeat Trump,
I 20/20 disagree.

This continues and further escalates a win/lose strategy
to out-capitalize the Trumpian icon of Capitalism.
Rather than a democratic positive empowerment strategy.
This is a sub-optimal choice
because it pretends public sector win/win healthy outcomes
can be achieved with more
and more
and more private sector win/lose incomes–
while Earth
community
home burns and melts and floods.

Green Democrats
look to a more resilient
resonant
robust cooperative investment in health.

Health of all kinds:
democratic co-investment health,
environmental health,
economic cooperative-ownership and -management health,
restorative justice health,
peaceful health,
green new deal health,
cooperative health,
compassion health,
love health,
sacred health,
secular health,
ecological health,
theological health,
multicultural health,
polycultural health,
polyphonic health,
polypathic health,
polynomial interdependent intersectional health,

Resonant health,
resilient health
for robust
climaxing
EarthPeace wealth.

An important truth of compassion therapy
endorses co-investment,
cooperatively sharing from a back-and-forth healthy heart,
to receive a wealthier, more resonant, mind,
soul,
improved by NonZero-Sum win/win inspirations
more strongly than Zero-Sum win/lose aspirations.

To improvise on a Giving To
Ruth Bebermeyer melody,

I always feel less given to
when you won’t take from me–
When you don’t understand the joy I feel
when heard by peaceful you.

And, you don’t know
my giving is not done
to put you in my awe,
but because I want to grow this love
I feel to win with you.

To receive life’s grace
may be Earth’s greatest health.
There’s no way we could separate
the two–Earth and life
grow wealth.

When Earth gives to me,
I give you my receiving.
When you won’t hear from me,
I feel Earth not given to,

when you take from me,

Does it always feel good to be King?

White fragility,
like loneliness,
is the psychic

and disempowering risk we take

subconsciously oppress
unconsciously suppress
anti-consciously repress

over-invested white male privileged opportunities

To recognize cultures as polycultural systems
and climates as polypathic networks,
sometimes health and wealth balanced polynomials
and sometimes more monochromatically problematic,

Played out
in win/lose economic capital advantages
and egocentric/anthrocentric
competing political game environments
habitats
eco-centers
assumed to be ZeroSum
by left-brain dominant win/lose energy conservationists
and also NonZero-Sum
co-arising dipolar 4-season revolutionary
by right-sacredmind win/win emergent progressivists,

Games of physical aggression
too often produce violently wounding
fragmenting
punishing
retributive justice strategies

Investments In Health

Gaia continues running on a Health Platform,
healthy democracy
for wealthy economy
for healthy ecopolitics
for wealthy democratic energy.

The idea of free markets
as those embedded in democratic transactional service
to a local community
Is as old and conservative
as the idea of health
being embedded in a real
organic economic body
and political mind,
actually communicating
and playing nice
with each other.

The primal goal of old school markets,
in good weather times,
was to grow polycultural health,
investments as rich as diverse nutritional needs
of consuming and producing constituents.

So too, in bad climate times,
a depressed and fading market
becoming more monoculturally played out,
exhausted,
was, and is, to survive Lose economic
and Lose environmental EarthTrends,

Often picking up,
emigrating toward more promising lands
and fresh water,
more breathable air,
healthier opportunities for robust
democratic
fair
transparent
mutually vulnerable
win/win healthy-wealth transactions.

Robust markets are rich in co-passionate exchanges,
a flow between non-violent consumers and producers
rooted in healthy cooperative investments
in
and from
and of nutrition-sharing hearts
and minds
and voices,
thoughts with feelings still attached.

The right to free communicating markets
is a right of democratic access
and an ecological positive corollary right
of equal freedom from investing in poison,
imprisoning the competition,
waging war against those who terrify our megalomania
with their own autonomous hubris,
violent lies
hypocrisy
narcissism
egocentrism
anthropocentrism
xenophobia
patriarchalism
homophobia
win/lose evolutionary competitions,
runaway capital hoarding,
moral bankruptcy,
investment in ego-maniacal agendas,
hate,
elitism,
racism,
autonomous media and market control,
feelings of grandiose entitlement,

Jealous and zealous bad faith
sold out as spiritualized
and denatured
disembodied
unmarketable
unfree GoodNews truth.

Meanwhile,
Gaia continues running on a Health Platform,
healthy natural/spiritual democracy
for wealthy secular/sacred economy
for healthy left/right bicameral ecopolitics
for wealthy democratic free-market energy.

Keeping Healthy Hearts

I see and hear a great overlap between
left-brain dominant education,
straight white male privileged political power,
and capitalist win/lose
Elite ballistic gamesmanship.

But, as importantly,
what do you hear
see
feel
believe about ingredients for healthy democracy
and for degenerative
fading public health
and competitive uncivil miseducation?

I have been listening,
sometimes with active curiosity,
sometimes with excruciating patience,
for what we will do
to make Earth healthy again,
to make these United States wealthy again
and not quite so depressing and angry and narcissistic,
to make my family life happy again,
to make my ego more resiliently compassionate again.

I would love to clearly hear
to more safely see
to warmly feel
your vision of local economic
political
public and private health,
your dreams of everyday
ecological and/or theological Paradise.

Meanwhile
I have been writing my dreams
and visions.
These are times of longing
but also imagining radical
and profound belonging,
green communion,
cooperative democratic ownership
and mutual non-violent management,
co-responsive, positive correlational, administration,
compassionately responsible civility,
regenerative win/win civic duty
that feels safer,
warmly sufficient and more significant,
transparently known and knower of more neighbors
including our Elder Trees,
GrandMother Moon cycles and recycling nutritional systems,
Father Sun’s enlightenment,
EarthMother’s cooperative empowerment,
EcoFeminist co-investment.

I wonder if
you might enjoy reading these dreams
of a time when we are not judged
by the color of our skin
or by who we love,
nor even shamed
and/or blamed
for those we can but hate,
who feel too full of themselves
to gracefully tolerate.

I have been noticing
how stuck in a viral climate of anxiety
I feel
while haunted by the first lines
of an “If” poem
(Rudyard Kipling?)
my third grade teacher
knew we must all memorize

“If you can keep your [dream]
when all around you
are losing theirs
and blaming it on you…”

I’m wondering if you,
too,
feel this is our first step
toward climate health,
compassion therapy,
non-violent communication,
cooperative co-investment,
resilient and robustly wealthy democracy,
to share our new
and old green deal dreams
as tools for NonZero Sum imagination
and not weapons
for perpetuating competing ZeroSum fears,
divestment away from NonElite species,
spirited forms of warmly humane nature
win/win revolutionary
when not so much LeftBrain Win/Lose
devolutionary.

I so hope
you will write down and out
to share your green
and full ultra-nonviolent dream with me,
so we can see
which are light
and which are dark,
first steps for us to decide
bicamerally thought
and felt,
bilaterally well fed
mountain peaks of passion
and river valleys of healthiest pleasure.

Dreams of running together

for wealthy economy
for healthy ecopolity
for wealthy democratic energy.*

LifeStyle Synergy

Part of me longs to reside in
a high functioning
win/win cooperative community
of resilient left hemisphere,
resonant right hemisphere,
polypathic/polyphonic communion.

Part of egoself-care wisdom
and longing
feels drawn toward eremetical asylum
more than gregarious shared sanctuary;
to solitude,
peace
ease
natural sounds and sights,
green new/old deals,
relationships
communications
communions of egalitarian interdependence,
more internally holistic intersections
noticing sacred global beauty
in local experiential truths
mundanely secular.

Yet the best part of my internal ecosystemic awareness
wants both,
wants Earth’s all,
longs for cutting edge win/win communion,
healthiest wealth,
resilient resonance
restoring ego/eco co-investments,
just truth and beautiful mercies,
graced bounty,
synergetic integrity,
robust democracy of healthy hermits.

Too unneedy greedy,
the sound of two co-arising hands
not clapping,
I unrealistically realize
longing in belonging.
