Although certified in generic
and organic Permaculture Design,
my design and therapeutic development practice
follows a Taoist Integral Design School
of secular and sacred health care,
public and private restorative justice
exterior ecosystemic peace
and interior, body-embedded
ego-compassionate,

I work cooperatively
and hopefully compassionately
listening for nondualistic ego AND eco-political historical flow
of interdependent memory,
Left AND Right
Yang AND Yin bicameral ZeroZone intent.

All my clients,
nonviolent practitioners,
health care givers and receivers,
have been troubled by StraightWhiteMale (SWM)
privileged win/lose BusinessAsUsual (BAU)
monoculturally degenerating Earth-trends,

Where we would more resiliently prefer
polyculturally regenerative networks
in Zones Zero through Earth’s Timeless Infinity
of 4D revolutionary
Win/Win energy democracy space.

So, in our historical noticing,
our cooperative discovery of more nutritional needs and wants,
we identify ecological antecedents
as also our interdependent analogical consequents,
consequences
too monocultural.

Our historical/cultural roads
toward SWM
BAU segregated and unequal cultures
pass through sexism,
heterosexualism,
dualism (bad nature v good spirit),
patriarchalism (too not ecofeminist),
win/lose capitalism,
elitism,
racism,
evangelicalism (elitist zealotry),
colonialism,
and corporatism v individualism
(not universal/unitarian intersectional)
yang v yin ZeroSum
eco-political competition,
debate more than dialogue
divestment more than co-investment
dispassion over compassion.

Each symptom
a different color of jaundice
pathology
evil
sickness
sin
dissonance
rather than interdependent green-blue
ultra-nonviolet communion
of intersectional resonance.

Neurologists,
studying healthy bicameral structures,
with less investment in pathological trauma,
addiction,
suffering,
loss,
unquenchable need to win/win belong
in a less xenophobic
and anthropocentric ZeroZone
double-binary monoculture
of internal and external bipolar
co-depressing trends,

Increasingly notice 20/20
listening,
thinking AND feeling
all these nutritional
economic
political issues
as StrangeFruit
of LeftBrain deductive win/lose
either/or thinking
segregated from,
and sadly unequal to polycultural development
with right-hemisphere emotional-nurturing warm win/wins

Secular/Sacred
copassionately contextual
Non ZeroSum double-binary
dipolar co-arising intelligence

Belonging with healthy polycultural outcomes,
regenerative more than win/lose degenerative,
love stronger than hate,
bilateral win/win incomes
cooperatively outgoing.

All of which
may be more easily conveyed

We invite our Ego and our EcoSystemic Intelligence
to become cooperatively mindful
not only of what we breathe,
but ecologically how
and psychologically when
and politically where
and theologically why
we breathe healthier wealth together.

The Big Godly Choice

I wonder if the old gospel challenge,
“Do you worship God or mammon?”
has a more contemporary language,
“Do you worship regenerative living Earth
or degenerative win/lose capitalism?”

In either question,
it is clear which way cooperative right thinking
and resonant left feeling
people will choose restorative justice
for resilient peace.

Does your natural
ecological communion experience
untrump your spiritual theological ideology?

Could cooperation of healthy ecosystems
become the secular/sacred nondualistic face
of co-investing capital and equity in wealth
of global theocratic health?

Let’s Become HealthWealthy

In his essay “Let’s Be Reasonable”
Rev. Todd Eklof [The Gadfly Papers]
reduces reasonable to logical;

This is a common left-brain dominant error,
confusion between deductive premises
and coldly reductive conclusions
calculated assuming cause v effect linear formulas
more than feedback loops
of complex neurological relationships,
ecological analogical
experiential math
not reducible to algebraic calculus.

So, this is a big topic
and I can already see right-brain feelers’ eyes glazing,
longing to step into warmer,
more fluid
green organic systems
in which light feeds natural growth
and darkness starves into nutritional dormancy.

Narrowing down to a specific example,
“If an organization has a policy [a left-brain dominant product]
against hiring nonwhites for top management positions,
[T]hen it will not hire a[n Asian heritage candidate]
as its next CEO.” (p. 88)

In linear cause-effect logic,
IF…is the antecedent clause
and
THEN…is the consequent clause;
If x, and only x,
then y–
a perfect positive correlation
seldom seen in real life’s geometric non-equations,
except where found true
by left-brain definition,
rooted in either true cause
or false effect
dark v light
competitive thinking.

Notice a similar statement
about historical experience,
left- and right-hemisphere resonantly remembered;
not cognitively/affectively dissonant,

IF a culture has a history of not hiring nonwhite leaders,
THEN it is unlikely to hire a nonwhite CEO in the future.

Why would the sun shine on a culture tomorrow
that has never done so in past collective memory?

For left-brain deduction,
either cause
OR effect,
practice could only consistently follow explicit policy
or it would be wrong,
incommensurable with safe precedent,
arbitrary
illogical
dangerously unnecessary risk-taking
and unexplainable
within SWM privileged and dominant monocultures.

On the other hand,
perhaps literally
and figuratively,
right-brain’s interdependent web
of complex cause-effect-recause-re-effect
feedback loops and lattices
networks and sometimes chaotically scary lack of stable systems
with accompanying anxiety about what is significant
and safe climate
and what is unpredicted and therefore unknown
and alarming wildness habitat,
dissonant,
uncomfortable.

Procedural choices,
including designing and development processes,
in a privileged culture
normally follow past historical practice.

Stabilization
predicts calcification;
not positive deviance.

Precedent predicts practice
especially where no explicit prohibitive policy
intending to inhibit past practice
is anywhere within sight
to empower change
in a more therapeutic direction,
to restore justice
connection
relationship
non-violent communication
ease
health
nurture
where it has been sadly lost.

Left-brain deductive reason
is reduced to predicting
within the context of linear
either x is an explicit healthy/toxic antecedent
or y is a logically implied
and predictable valid outcome.

Right-brain wisdom from positive and negative experience
is able to extend reasonable connections
beyond what is explicitly logical
within an assumed Win/Lose competitive
predative
patriarchal
colonizing
corporate capitalist normative system.

IF, and only if, we uncover beliefs about what feels right,
what neurologically AND biologically
and naturally AND spiritually resonates,
within a specific polycultural experience
influenced by far more
than explicit laws and regulations,
by far more than scriptures
explicitly translated and transcribed
down through ages of oral history,
by far more than moral behavioral codes
that do not add to experiential internal conviction,

THEN compassion,
sufficient motivation
to do
and say
and choose what is valid
for healthy interconnected
resonant
fluid
grace-filled sacred life systems
may be less ignored
shunned
depressed
repressed
suppressed
oppressed

In favor of merely logical conclusions
that can feel too aggressive
assertive more than merely rational,
self-assuredly privileged
yet cold
and calculatingly hurtful
when weapons of empowered narcissists
instead of limited tools of non-elite compassionists.

IF StraightWhiteWesternMale incorporated privilege
seems to validly conclude
what also feels organically
and interdependently unreasonable
given contrary historical NonElite experience,

THEN we might release
competitive and privileged assertions
conserving right-brain ignored darkness
where light longs for multicultural
bicameral liberation,
education
transubstantiation
communication
where bright longs for better safe and sufficiently resonant systems
of polypathic thoughts
with long polyphonic systemic feelings
of harmonic secular/sacred
natural/spiritual stability,
centeredness,
health-seasoned
[not so much ecological wealth anti-reasoned]
balance,
health,
therapeutic integrity

Watching this new sabbath begin,
darkness born of dusk,
dawn birthed by night,

I wonder about comparisons
between everyday logic
and systems restoring thinking,
feeling primal relationship
between verbal analogic
and nonverbal spacetime metaphor,
4D revolving EarthMaps,
seasonal/fractal missions
all designed for deep healing

Sabbath therapy
between linear cause-effect sequential history
and resonant/dissonant
resilient/unstable loops of regenerative/degenerative
solar systemic recycling causes
with Her antecedent birthing effects
becoming future’s further causes.

Logic collapses past and future health dynamics
into static unchanging inside v outside
and non-temporal non-contextualized either/or relationships
of verbal thought
about smaller and larger sets
growing and shrinking,
removed from nonverbal feelings,
health/diseased sensations,
notice,
appreciation/depreciation,

Awareness
of win/win analogical ecological metaphor
of active hope
for healthy inside-outside climate resonance,
both ego-
and eco-therapeutic

Resilience for all Earth’s ego-smaller
and eco-larger systems,
left and right
west and east
north and south
interdependently dipolar hemispheric.

This ecosystemic health context
intuitively feels
and rationally believes
our larger ego-harmonic sabbath narrative,
sunny day of non-tragic history,
positive energy enculturation
remains sadly untouched
by autonomous left-hemisphere verbal logic,
either cause
or effect,
disembodied linear analogic,
metrically decontextualized absence of warm/cold ecologic
without polypathic/polyphonic metaphors
reborn of sabbath theologic,

Everyday left-hemisphere verbal language
without right-hemisphere curious and courageously felt listening

CoPassion
toward healthy
ecotherapeutic
systemic memories
restoring wealthy egologic
more polyculturally regenerative
during days and nights of rest,

Restoring cloudless blue-sky sabbath mornings,
predicting yet another day

We all began somewhere
not our own.

All life began somewhere
within Earth’s regenerative systems
not our own,
as did Earth
Her EcoSelf.

No one is autonomously entitled
to sustained ego-awareness,
much less self-promoting narcissism.

Earth began someplace
beyond His/Her own north v south,
west revolving east
re-evolving west,
inside v outside,
inhale v exhaling organic
ergodically balancing life systems

Regenerating in and out
down and back up
lungs
and tipping conscious points
in seasonally revolving light,
power,
empowerment,
enlightenment…

Earth’s ecosystemic wholeness
also may be
and become
bilateral political correctness,
democratically self-correcting
only if His/Her outcomes
are multiculturally developing
non-violent regenerative
nutritional
nurturing growth,
empowerment of organic Earth’s entire
sinking ship, on which non-20/20
competitive verbal debates
replace,
supplant,
struggle against
cooperative non-violent,
and typically non-verbal dialogue,

Actions and reactions of co-passion
may be Left politically correct
through intentionally cooperative economics
and communication
where Right politically correct
has unintentionally devolved into unhealthy
undemocratic
too rabidly competitive
win/lose capital-driven
[not full-body health derived]
economics supporting apartheid segregation
of multiculturally nurturing histories,
too distant from GoldenRule internal/external Original Intent
for wealthy regenerative outcomes,
inhaling expansions,
exhaling contractions,
meeting in transitional cooperative inspirations…

Climates distracted by dissonant disempowerment,
bullying by supremacist inhumane Elites
gratuitously ungrateful
overinfested in negative Yang violence,
macro-
and micro-economic EarthCommons aggression,
mis- and dis-communication,
absence of positive-positive relationship,

Financial divestments
against that sacred Other
from which we are all derived,
whether theologically
or ecologically,
or both/and,
while playing win/lose power games–
politically incorrect.

EarthSource is a living planet,
but threatened now,
where correctness is not democratically,
interdependently,
contagiously,
virally,
revolutionary healthy regenesis

And incorrectness
is plutocratically
leftbrain too Yang-dominant
veering off toward a too autonomous
too anthropocentric
pathologically degenerating EarthClimate.

RightWing elitism,
measuring loyalty by
Either we are all orthodoxically uniform
Or they are wrong,
rather than
Polyculturally inclusive
healing monoculturally exclusive
nested scales of healthy reverse-hierarchy,
wherein appreciative
curiously warm invitation
overwhelms mere tolerance
of win/lose historical separations,
divisions,
dissociations,
dissonance between cognitive left
and affective right

Creolization succeeds
and supercedes leftbrain’s contingent ego-colonization,

RightBrain ecofeminist circles
surround leftbrain egopatriarchal
autonomously competitive hierarchies,

LeftWing natural interdependent correctness,
non-elitist green democracy,

from compassionate EarthSource intent.

Gadflies and HoneyBees

Where to begin
in the middle of cold and dark
winter’s solstice,
healthy green life’s time
of impeachment,
excommunication,
dormancy?

Where does this all rightfully
and left sacredly end?

These are expansive gadfly questions,
problems,
issues of complexly dipolar reason,
leftbrain dominant
either-or thinking
we are either thinking or feeling
rather than conscious of both,
and neither sufficient
without the necessary other.

Light
and passion
win competitive evolutions
only to lose cooperative revolutionary
awareness,
dipolar and co-arising,
bipolar and co-exhaling.

We dissociate cognitive reason
from rightbrain’s more original intuitive-sourced feelings.

Unitarian-Universalists,
like balanced Taoists,
advocate our 7th Principle
about interdependent
intersectional
co-passioning webs
of non-violent life communing love,
passion,
cooperative empowerment,
bicameral egopatriarchal/ecofeminist
yang-yintegrity
spatial-temporal
NonZero-Sum Win/Win contextual
counter-capitalism multicultural,
bilateral
WinLeft’s liberal egolove
to WinRight’s healthiest conservational ecolife.

So, let’s not continue
beginning with a full-spectral blue
and red
and ultra-violet synergy,
but confine our response
to questions not yet leftbrain asked

And notice, instead, dark and light green,
in-between sunny courage yellow
and curious and long-hidden orange,

Merging and emerging
what comes after RightWing Red depressions
of Earth’s healthiest well-being values.

If Earth’s children are, sometimes
not-straight
not-white
not-male,
not particularly egocentric,
not especially competitive,
more artistic and wounded, perhaps,

And not necessarily human,
maybe a chick,
or a colt,
a cub,
pup,
kitten,
calf,
a matriarchal egg, etc.

And,
you are a Wise EcoFeminist Elder,
an organic gardener
looking out for your healthy flock,
your child with disabilities,
your own chronic climate anxiety of win/lose stress,
expecting Aspergerish cooperative co-arising warm compassion
in-between memories of win/lose competitions
and images of future win/win cooperative democratic empowerment
through co-invested polypathic communication,
polynomial relationship,
polyphonic compassion.

You probably would think/feel yourself merely reponsible
for protecting your co-empathic young
from white predative nationalist hate,
from self-unfulfilling prophets of egalitarian apartheid
without hope of interdependent healthy regenerativity,

You would probably want to be reassured that:

1. Your young adult understands what s/he will be hearing
is driven by leftbrain competitive
either/or
emotionally dissociated
deductive/reductive dominating
egocentric
monocultural identity,
semi-consciousness,
at best, no more elitist right
than non-elitist wrong.

2. The right to free and responsible speech
(U-U Principle Four)
has a reverse corollary,
usually unconsciously assumed

S/he has the freedom not to listen
to unfree
dissociated
potentially toxic
one-sided presentations
and leftbrain lopsided verbal debates
with straw ecofeminist
green
cooperative social investors,
voters,
residents,
indigenous citizens of sacred MotherEarth
before denizens of any nation-identified State,
or supremacist Tribe.

3. I would not think/feel
I am “coddling” my adolescent dependents,
whether human in formation
or a yearling pony,
by inviting them to anticipate discussion
with win/win non-violent intent,

That we are good
and natural
and healthy
and democratic
to assume restorative green resilience
of all ecosystems
and all subclimates,
whether internal or external,
whether yin or yang,
whether unitarian or universal,
whether ecofeminist or egopatriarchal,
whether sacred Left interdependent ecosystemic
or secular Right egocentric capitalists,

Dialogue is always a healthier choice
for a wise green energy democracy
then violent
overly competitive debates,
with zero-sum win/lose relational/nutritional assumptions

As if win/lose capitalism makes democratic nurturing sense
despite win/win empowering green
original sacred-mind and secular-body
bilateral revolutionary intent,

Where rational regenerative history
greets intuitive resonant mystery
with deep green learning respect.

4. And we are not really ‘coddling’
to rationally expect non-violent discussion
begins with compassionate win/win listening
for points of cooperative agreement,

Usually more significant
than win/lose points of runaway disagreement,
regardless of cultural color appreciation
or species gratitude,
or the healthier humor of leftbrain egopatriarchal dominance
passionate about cooperative rightbrain ecofeminist prominence.

Reason-rooted StraightWhiteMale gadflies
sometimes have trouble hearing
and appreciating the interdependent power
of 7th interdependent identity principles
in balance with
1st co-relational
co-passionate dignity principles

Of egalitarian freedoms to speak
and interdependent responsibilities
to listen for win/lose issues
to discern win/win cooperative resolutions.

Gadflies may tolerate
dissonant monoculturing fascist risks,
rather than resonantly co-responding
with confluent
polyculturing
interdependent opportunities,
which are more of a honey bee
kind of humming green consciousness,
both wealthy mind-thought
and healthy body-felt.

More Becoming Qualities

I find reassurance
in knowing I need not worry
no one will show up for my plans

And my job
and my joy
is to work and play with those someones
already here
in my life on this native Earth
at this sacred time.

I hear considerable comforting room
between not being able to accomplish all that is sufficient
for global health
and my ability to fully engage all that is necessary
for my local wealth.

When it’s final curtain time,
the size of the stage
is insignificant
compared to the quality of resonant sound
and resilient
brilliant lights.

Reason To Celebrate

I overheard you say
you are planning a big celebration
for later this year,
when Trump is defeated
for re-election.

I am ready to be invited,
if you would be so kind
to reverse your motives
to celebrating positive alternatives.

I have an uncomfortable memory
that celebrating the former regime’s end
feels alarmingly Trumpian,
rather than introducing a new 2020 green deal
healthier wealth for everyone.

It is this negative anger
growing to more negative fear
that most defeats our capacity to touch each other
with mutual trust,
democratic health,
civil trust in a wealthier future together
than climatically apart.

Earth yields some clues
warmly regarding necessary and sufficient ingredients
for a healthy swamp,
a positive capital co-investment,
an economically resilient,
politically resonant,
multiculturally effective democracy.

Stuckness
She does not choose to celebrate.
MotherEarth
and EarthMothers of all regenerations
vacuum up and sweep out
intolerance.

A competitive model of capital extraction
rooted in devouring our own habitat,
our own win or lose militarized young,
our Earth’s pathological neglect,
is incompatible
antithetical
to a resiliently healthy eco-democracy
recomposing our own healthy born
win/win expectant
left with right,
not left v right, children.

Healthy robust systems
are cooperatively owned
and multiculturally managed
and polyculturally celebrated
by organic nurturers of ego/eco-resonance,
left and right deep bicameral learning nutrients,
informed by Earth’s democratic history
of multiculturing nutrition,
life,
warm truths and trusts,
integral ways
and ego/eco-democratic robust means

Bicameral
Bilateral intelligence
Binomial double-bound
not not pro-green transitional
great reweaving manifestations,
inaugurations,
cooperatively-owned celebrations
leaving no one behind,

Not even straight white male narcissists,
emotionally wounded children
of all ages and parties,
naked emperors
seeking sycophantic celebrants.

Retiring Nomad River

I finally finished retiring four years ago,
a process that started in my mid-fifties
due to late adopting kids with special needs,
including needs for me to be home
to personally walk them on,
harness them in,
and wheel them back off, their diverse buses
and robotic ramped vans.

During those final weeks of quasi-gainful employment
I amped up my search for a new home
preferably in New London, CT,
because I had visited, and liked, All Souls UU;

But, possibly in Norwich,
where I have some family,
not necessarily white like me,
or someplace more rural
in-between.

Long story short,
which is not like tangential me,
I ended up
or started out,
depending on where this story starts for you
and me
on the south end of Norwich,
just north of the old State Hospital,
seeking healthy justice
above a steep and brooding bank
down to the troubled Thames River.

From here
it is difficult not to notice
how traffic flows
between Norwich and New London.

But, in the case of All Souls UU
and UU Norwich,
not so much,
maybe not enough.

When I lived in the Hartford area
I joyfully attended the Unitarian Society of Hartford,
a fairly large multicultural tent
filled with reviving gospel music.

So, when looking for a retirement destination,
I traveled on-line to uua.org
to see what might be available
in addition to All Souls New London
and found a small cell,
apparently renters quasi-homeless,
Norwich UU,
or UU Norwich,
or maybe both
I hope.

I pictured no choir,
no active faith formation options
for people of all ages
and figured,
probably not right for me.

Long story maybe a little bit short,
it took me over four years
to make my first Norwich UU visit,
recently.

I found somewhat fewer of us
than the number of Norwich residents
on the All Souls Members and ActiveAllies list.

My background is in cooperative economic
and affordable housing development.

With an MDiv from a Catholic seminary
and a double-Master’s in Public Administration
and Community Development
from Southern Illinois,
Carbondale,
where Bucky Fuller once taught
Synergetics,

It feels awkward
to invest in All Souls together
where all souls are welcome,
by commuting back and forth alone in my blue steel truck,
while there is clearly plenty of room
and welcome
available right in my new home town,
where I now know no one except family,
over four years later.

This is a schizophrenic discomfort
for climate activist
and cooperative local community investor
me.

Back in my early adoption years,
I worked in the Office of Urban Affairs,
New Haven,
for the Archdiocese of Hartford,
where I listened to a great deal of turmoil
about aging and poor urban parishes
thinking about how to join forces
to survive
while sharing a clergy ministry team.

So, I wonder
How would it feel to UU Norwich survivors,
activists,
communicants,
healthy and smart registrants to vote local
while thinking global,
to carpool to All Souls on Sunday mornings,
to sit together
in chairs hooked to-gather,
perhaps joined by us other emigrant immigrant
Norwich residents already All Souls affiliated,

To also share a discussion circle
after the chalice light is extinguished
to check in with each other over coffee,
maybe herbal tea,
to reflect on what we heard
and sang
and sometimes endured, today,

To ponder aloud how this speaks
and does not speak
why
and how
and when we arrive together
back in Norwich,
having solved
and resolved to absolve
most of the Thames River watershed issues
rolling back and forth
and swelling in-between
this tidal river’s ups and downs.

Perhaps some of us
or even all of us
would also like to form a Sanctuary Circle
meeting during the week.

Maybe have lunch together,
share our Norwich organizing
and multicultural explorations together,
contribute to All Souls Green Sanctuary
and GRACE anti-racism projects,
restore justice to replace retributive injustice,
speak power with truth,
live together, not apart,
more resiliently.

Perhaps it is possible
to grow more robust
as a distinguished part
of All Souls,
combine resources,
economize cooperatively,
ecologize more holistically
and theologize more healthily
without losing Norwich UU tradition,
focus
mission,
effective
resonance,
green and black and brown and rainbow
resilience.

As for me,
I’m still looking at New London
real estate listings
while troubled about abandoning
a nomad’s home
in which I never let myself fully invest

While dreaming of emigrating further south
downriver toward climatically rising water levels
while still in my first five carbon-burning years
of retiring immigration.
