When asked
by my nephew
for an essential reading list
for PermaCultural Therapeutic Design,
my Taoist thoughts went back
to Unitarian-Universalist
Yin/Yang pre-history,
when Earth produced a theologian,
Dr. Thomas Starr King (1824-1864)
reaching out for non-violent dialogue
across all global healing cultures.

This 1800s Dr. King
would-be global peacemaker
noticed
and reflected
and reconsidered humanity
both Universalist YangLeft Dominant
and Unitarian YinRight Prominent,
like EgoCreators
noticing and appreciating EcoCreations
to an Integral PermaCulturing Designer
and Restorer of EarthJust Climates,
WellTimed Nutrition Spaces,
Secular/Sacred Health/Wealth BiLateral
DiaLogical Places.

To everyone’s ecologically cooperative relief,
this Dr. King had a sense of humor,
sometimes dark
and deep,
more resonant with MoonLight seasons
than SunBright reasons

Speaking of power and energy and light,
“The Universalists…believe that God is too good
[healthy, wealthy, beautiful, trusting, radically democratic Lover]
to damn us forever;
And you Unitarians believe you are too good
[wealthy beautiful resonantly trusting and healing Creation]
to be damned.

[to be pathologized,
victim of toxic apartheid,
degenerative monoculturing climates
hellfire,
global hurricanes,
tsunamis,
drought,
pestilence,
starvation, etc.]

This Dr. King
ecological theologian
spoke with a polyculturally developed sense of irony,
and died one year before
the first National Conference of Unitarian Churches
discussed merging YangLeft Universalists
with YinRight Unitarians,

Like liberal Yankees
and confederated Rebels
inviting creolizing
multiculturing
polycultural carpet-baggers
of good faith ecological relationships
redesigning theology,
preaching non-violent good governance
to those who would post-UnCivil War listen
appreciate
with positive attitude gratitude,
active polyculturing co-passion.

These EarthPassions percolated for another sixty-five years,
until Frederick May Eliot
presided
convened
mediated patriotic Unitarian Associates
of these Uniting States
for healthy democratic becoming
one cooperatively co-invested health sanctuary

Inviting a serious,
and sometimes more light-hearted
and footed
and bicameral-handed,
discussion
dialogue
discernment connecting
uniting Universalist global wealth redeemers
and healers
with Unitarian interdependent web of secular/sacred human
health/wealth pro-lifers.

Eliot’s Commission on Appraisal,
covenant for global truth and reconciliation,
reported “Unitarians should
[could, might like to]
free themselves from the sectarian spirit
[of apartheid,
bad faith,
partisan, monoculturing nature]
by cooperating more fully
[actively win/win nonzero-sum, regeneratively]
with other denominations,
[good and healthy faith communities],
by taking part in a growing [polycultural] movement
of the Free Church Fellowship
[for non-violent communing sanctuary design
and cooperative development]

And by entering whole heartedly
into the worldwide [swelling/shrinking ecopolitical] fellowship
of religious liberals
[nature/spirit nonsectarian]
in many lands.”

Since the 1930s,
Free HealthSanctuary Democratic Communication
has further responded
to Buckminster Fuller’s ecological/theological “Synergetics,”
to Marshall Rosenberg’s “NonViolent Communication,”
to Joanna Macy’s Work That Reconnects
through “Active Hope,”
to Iain McGilchrist’s “The Master[Mistress] and His[Her] Emissary,”
to Deb Dana and Stephen Porges’
“The Polyvagal[cultural] Theory in Therapy:
Engaging [Inviting] the Rhythm of [win/win cooperative] Regulation.”

To this Taoist GreenDemocrat,
all these additional inside-voiced layers
of systems group attachment
to non-violent human compassion theory
are helpful
significant
important
yet distract from the outdoor sense of mystical humor
implied in LaoTse’s Sonnets for Self/Other
Ego/Eco GoldenRule,

Earth BiHemispheric Democratic
Health-Nutritional CoGovernance
outside as inside climate therapy,
above as below,
ecosystemic as ego-resilient
green wealth as red-blooded health.
