Soup Kitchen Luncheon

He said s/he was a Permaculture Designer
of cooperative economies.

I asked him/her why I should care about designs
long-term
while I am still struggling through this day
before tomorrow,
when I, best case scenario,
awaken healthy
to begin surviving yet another day
before night’s cold unrest.

So glad you asked
s/he seemed to say
without youthful presumption
of telling me what I already knew,
Good question!

Permaculture Design is rooted in Game Theory,
for those more math and economic science inclined,

Defining our cooperatively-held
long-term resilient
public and private
secular and sacred health outcomes

Through win/win projections
and ego/ecotherapeutic
0/1 cooperative bilateral co-relational zone analysis.

Before I had a chance to mention
that this does not warmly resonate
for the 99% who could care less about theoretical
and/or experiential
math and economic science,

S/he continued,
For those more politically empowerment/disempowerment oriented,
Cooperative Permaculture Design
follows your/our most optimally resonant
left/right
onezone/zerozone
nature/spirit
Western dualism/Eastern elite/non-elite nondualism
polycultural relationships
balancing polypathic designs with polyphonic health/wealth synergy,
resilient either/or deductive thinking
AND resonant both/and bicameral inductive compassion therapy,
ego-internal as integral with eco-contextual.

While this, too, seemed far too abstract
for warm and inviting lunchtime conversation,
I asked if s/he might try again
about how this could possibly change our lives together.

This same economic and political health framework
can be applied to restoring social justice,
civic cooperativity,
civil rights,
racial multicultural inclusiveness,
environmental Climate Justice

Negatively defined by
all that is equally not-not polycultural injustice;
a universal type of ego/eco double-binary restoration
of internal/external fairness

Morally
and legally
and economically
and politically
and socially health preferable
to win/lose retributive “justice”

Which can never produce win/win global green peace
today,
tonight,
tomorrow,
cold unrestful tomorrow night.

While this still feels too much like tomorrow’s promise,
at best 2021 integrity of right mindbody prominent hindsight,
I still had not finished my thin slice
of dryly donated white vanilla cake,
so I stayed through final summary.

By “integral”
we mean cooperative integrity,
synergy,
positively interdependent me/we relationship
and universally inclusive throughout spacetime

Designs composed of equivalently appreciated nutritional systems,
systemically democratic energy,
power, incoming and outgoing,
nutrients of mutually respirated respect,
communications multiculturally
and polyculturally
inclusive,
engaging,
inviting,
co-passionate,

Worthy of warm resonant lunchtime discussion
and afternoon implementation
and resilient/resonant dreams
of flying together
more than falling apart.

To this day
when I hear “climate”
I also hear polycultural atmosphere
economically and politically healthier
than monocultural attitude.

I’m sometimes still hungry
and feel homeless,
but now this is a cooperative hunger
and shared cold dry absence
of multigrain communion.

Winged Economy

When I wash dishes
I look out at my bird feeder,
noticing which political species are best at cooperating,
easy democratic process,
remaining focused on collective nutritional energy gains,
“we’re all in this together” feathers of kin kind
And, which are more elitist,
not so good with sharing a modestly seeded pot;
blue jays predatively pecking,
crows taking over with raucous self-appointed authority,
ganging up against non-supremacists
seeking win/win democratic health.
But, this morning’s meditation
looks over at a nearby large bush,
now January cold barren brown
camouflage, more than shelter,
for local birds of all species
waiting their feeding turn,
frightened by my neighbor’s cat
or a hawk flying ominously overhead
or human noises leaking through my windows.
This small bird sanctuary,
Or is it an asylum?…
Perhaps both, depending on the bird,
harbors those waiting,
patiently, impatiently,
How would I know?
for their turn at their nutrition tower,
their seed Commons,
their energy media feeding station,
local source for economic and political exchange,
gossip,
social busyness.
Each bird flies back and forth,
some dressed in drab everyday,
others more business-ready flashy,
but all conjoining waves of flowing energy
in-between asylum bush
and open season feeding sanctuary.
Sometimes listeners and watchers,
and then short-flight toward feeders,
communicants
receiving sacred wafers,
seeds,
investments in cooperative multiculturing futures,
gifts of a generous green Earth.
Then,
suddenly,
they are gone.
The feeder Commons
abandoned.
My meditative hiding
and curiously waiting medicine bush
bereft of waving winged energy
breathing in and out,
feathered wings up and down.
Time to go back home
to more private nests
thoughts
feelings,
or, perhaps
to visit my neighbor’s cooperative feeder,
another caffeinated sanctuary
outside his own warm interior asylum.

Degenerating Earth’s PolyCulture

I’m reading “Daring Democracy,”
Frances Moore Lappe and Adam Eichen,
noticing here too
racial justice glops onto EarthJustice.

This isn’t news,
although maybe gospel GoodNews,
that polycultural regenerativity
and multicultural democratic health
are two reverse faces
of white
and Climate
Fragility,

In turn,
the ancient green health/wealth Face
resisting white nation-state western privilege,
militarism
colonialism
patriarchalism
nature/spirit dualism
fundamentalism

Anti-evangelical multicultural health,
regenerative wealth.

I lay my Daring Democracy paperback aside
lost in wonder
how we ever could imagine
degenerative monocultural elitism
as more worthy of a healthy democratic republic
than regenerative polycultural privilege
of sacred grace

Equally true
and cause for gratitude
whether atheist,
and/or monotheist,
and/or polytheist,
and/or pantheist,
and/or panentheist,
and/or ecologist,
and/or co-redeemer for EarthJustice.

Shit Stinks

I find a great deal to learn
from Republican
Supremacist
Nationalistic
Nihilistic Evangelical Rapture
about how to lose eco-political sanity
and lose ecological health.

It feels important to remember
and respect
basic nutritional facts
of public health through reinvestment
and global climate pathology through extraction
apartheid
blame and shame:

Sh*t stinks.

We civilized Western straight white people
worry about this so much
we dump our waste into our water,
intentionally polluting and sacrificing generic purity,
rather than planting it in our soil,
where healthy scat can grow robust
resilient public and private nutritional green wealth.

Of course poop stinks
or it smells of developing resonant possibilities
for healing polluted
stagnant
depressed
economies;
Fragrance of probabilities
for redeeming corrupted political dissociations,

Sentient scents for a truly multicultural
salvific
robust
resonant
resilient sacred theology
advocating up and down spaces
in and out time
for natural ecology.

Of course your body waste stinks
of outside wealth-nurturing memories.

But, does it smell healthy,
or too red meat-eater
predative RightWing
toilet twittering
rapaciously OtherUnWise eco-politics?

Restoring Deeply Conservative Progress

Our old nemesis,
capitalism,
is much older than democratic theory,
and even older than profoundly resilient democratic practice,
which is rather like Christianity–
often communion preached
and seldom democratically and multiculturally proficient,
fruitful,
viral,
contagious,
multiplying economic loaves
and politically empowering fish.

Capital-rooted values
derive from tribal chiefs,
professional healers and clergy,
and, more recently,
in the era of empires and nation-states,
royalty miraculously arriving by divine right
and sacramental enlightenment
of Elite EcoPolitical Persons,
recognized by exclusive rights of supremely royal birth–
entirely dissociated from loyalty of natural systemic rebirth.

When democratic political theory of inclusive,
non-elite,
eventually ecofeminist empowerment developed
into our straight white patriarchal U.S. Constitution,
we did not have enough multicultural experience,
and ecologically regenerative understanding,
to recognize that democracy is rooted in feelings of trust
and economic cooperative experience,
co-investment in what Game Theorists define as

NonZeroSum Win/Win ecopolitical outcome resilience

Resonant experience of cooperative ownership,
stewardship of compassionate properties
that can only be immorally misunderstood
as autonomously purchased with capital
and therefore ethically owned
controlled
exploited
deflowered.

Organic self/other
ego/eco
left/right bicameral management
remains conservatively rooted
in feelings of historic and cultural solidarity
on progressive journey toward resonant secular meaning
and resiliently sacred purpose.

Instead of noting that health
and well-being
and prosperity are endemic to cooperative win/win health systems
more than the chronic stress
typical of competitive win/lose strategies,
U.S. democracy is conservatively assumed to protect and defend capitalism,

Exclusively private wealth-accumulation,
and later incorporated anthropocentric self-investment
dissociated from OtherEarth Matriarchy,
becomes de-royalized personal patriarchal ownership.

Divine powers
and personhood
become disassociated from royalty
by right of birth,
and democratically re-associated with everyday inheritance
of anthropocentric royalty
accompanied by requisite meritocracy
of past familial,
and private corporate,
capital-wealth accumulation.

God the Father’s blessing
is evinced by bounteous ownership of currency;
not to be confused with natural energy democracy,
powers of naturally recycling currents of motion,
emotion
immolation
demotion
re-motion
premonition

At this point,
democratic health
and ecological/theological resilience
have been dissociated from moral virtue,
divorced from cooperative win/win wealthy systems
and divested from multicultural womanist networks
of co-empathic empowerment.

Our task,
rooted in this historic-cultural ecology of theological history,
Left/Right bicameral analysis,
may be seen as how to win more resources for and with non-elites,
left marginalized by win/lose rightwing capitalism,
no longer aligned with a green democratic trust
non-violent agenda for peace restoring EarthJustice;

As Jesus of Nazareth probably said,
we will always have the poor with us,
within us,
even if only poor in anti-natural,
unlovely and felt unloved, spirit.

We might also see this Great Transition
as a multicultural challenge
to deeply conserve healthy democratic progress,

Great opportunity to Reweave capitalism
into cooperatively-invested health care,
matriarchal giving while patriarchal receiving empowering
win-Self/win-Other models
for non-violent relationships
with Earth’s global climate,
with Interpersonal EgoSystemic CoOperating CoInvestment climates,
and MultiCultural EcoSystemic climates

Cooperatively polypathic/polyphonic,
left/right
universal/unitarian
yang/yintegrity
atomic/wave-linear co-relational
envisioned/deeply sensed empowerment,
renewing enlightenment era democratic resilient health
as also resonant economic wealth,

Promising compassionate
polycultural-nutritional-deeply prosperous
natural/spiritual outcomes.

Peace Mediating Poetry

Thanks so much for forwarding
these John Paul Lederach stories
of un-learning academic approaches
to peace mediation.

I wonder if you remembered
my ongoing certification process
for justice-restoring mediation
in complex multicultural conflicting histories;
which are typically antithetical to resilient peace
through ongoing safe and healthy relationships.

With this background,
I was struck by “un-learning”.

To regain his poetic heart,
to remain resonant interdependently forward,
to give priority to emotional intelligence,
to remain actively curious about multicultural context,
and win/win strategic roots of issue-devolution,
we do well to relearn left-brain dominant communication lessons
to co-arise right-mind prominent compassionate listening
before speaking of how to win more,
or at least lose less,
through competitive win/lose
either/or assumptions
contrary to the opulence of Nature-Spirit
function and flow ZeroZone patterns
everywhere immanently transcendent.

From this non-dualistic place
un-learning academic cognition hierarchical models,
maps pointing up to win
and down to comparatively lose conflicts
of self-survival interest,
feels more like relearning both/and,
higher and wider and deeper points
of left with right minded skills,
loves within interdependent complex feelings
thoughts
passions
curious cooperative historical interests,
emerging courageously power-with
2020 re-vision anticipations.

May Sarton, sometimes a poet, observes
“It is good for a professional
to be reminded…
professionalism is only a husk,

That the real person
must remain an amateur,
a lover of the work.”

“…if to be a poet
means allowing life to flow through one
rather than forcing” love/life
“to a mold the will has” calcified;…

“If it means learning…
the day shape[s] the work,
not [just] the work,
the day,
and so live toward essence
as naturally as a bird
or a flower”

In a meadow
arrayed in warm-lit splendor
health and beauty,
healthy beautiful wealth
optimized by transcendent right-brain interdependence,
metaphoric neurological relationship,
analogical
ecological
theological re-communication,
holonic co-operation with Earth-wombed Mother’s
healthiest past through future.

We are increasingly invited,
by left with right minded correlations,
to want to do
what our healthiest ego says we must,
and to love what we ego-must
do to ego-eco-theo-logically want
to retain wealth of cooperative inter-communion,
healthy immanent/transcendent relationship climates
becoming/being the opposite of excommunicated,
the apposition of impeached
by disloyal and hate-filled over-reactions
heralded by the insufficient love
of our hierarchical and too-monocultural forefathers

Invites us to restore EarthJustice
one momentary win/win relationship choice
in a lifetime of sacred multicultural invitations.

Outdoor Sanctuary

I am much more likely to feel like a respectful,
trusting family member
than an entitled warrior,
when outside “property improvements”
than when inside anthropocentric habitats.

Sometimes
even as I approach my favorite sanctuary,
an AllSouls Unitarian-Universalist built structure,
I feel more sacred peace before I open our front door
of intended mutual hospitality
accommodation
conversation
accompaniment on life’s great spirited journey,
than after closed off into merely human monoculturing nature.

It’s not that I see or hear myself
as some great and profound nature mystic.
A post-millennial John Muir
I am clearly not,
although I would like to at least feel myself this communal way.

This contrast between indoor and outdoor trust
and resonance
comes not from feeling trees embrace me
but from me embracing trees
through sight
and sound,
smell,
touch,
occasionally taste, if no humans are watching
with judgmental eyes.

Trees are much more tolerant of my curiosity,
intrusiveness,
than my cousins,
and most of my siblings.

Perhaps tolerance is not the best word choice.
Acceptance sounds more reassuring.
Inviting into co-presence feels too grand,
yet honorable,
worthy of vocational commitment,
loyal

Where indoor mistrust and distrust relationships
speak of selfishly heartless patriotism
and national monoculturing identity
and language and cultural antipathy,
rather than positive integrity
of a sanctuaried people
longing to live free
and comparatively loving lives
under and within paint
and textured sheetrock
looking a bit like bark
if high-end
and if I am feeling generous;
boundaried boxes smelling like chemical toxins.

This unfortunate comparison feels too simple,
for sustained resolution
of internal unsancturied sensitivity,
to notice I need to get out more,
because this means leaving my good faith community behind
as if I were so autonomously strong
in active outside hope and passionately robust love
that I need not hear human stories,
songs,
Need not see and conjoin liturgical non-verbal dance,
sacred rhythms
and patterns of compassionate dialogue,
mutual esteem and support,
appreciation,
warm accompaniment,
not of warriors,
but of peace-builders,
resolvers,
cooperative listeners, prayers
non-predative.

My oppositionally defiant daughter,
when in a forgiving mood,
refers to me as a “Talking Head.”

I find too much truth in her smiling tolerance
of this inflamed ego’s hunger and thirst
for regard
rather than a quieter mutual righteousness
of co-presence,
stalking hearts
inside as necessary for communion’s nurture
and outside as profitable for everyday sane nature.

I respect the limiting fact that pipe organs
and grand pianos
cannot sustain in the rain,
but I also seem to respect the possibility
of rapture in a cappella chant
and fire-circle sanctuary dance
witnessed by trees
and stars,
spoken of only by sacred smoky breezes.
