Kleptocracy

I’m reading this book about germs and guns and steel
and pre-history
and human history,
predators and prey,
and people praying they won’t be predatored.

You know,
light bedtime reading.

So, this guy who wrote the book…

No, not the Daniel Quinn thing.
Quinn thinks the beginning and end of our nutritional civilization story
is food production.
He forgets we can also hear cooperative health
and overly-rabid pathologies,
like CEOs calling “bleed the poor to feed those already too rich”
“tax cuts”.

I mean,
I guess they are tax cuts
if you happen to be in the top 20% US income bracket,
but that seems to miss the healthier democratic point
that Lower 80% Lives Matter Too.

No, not Quinn,
it is this younger guy,
Jared Diamond,
who probably never even met Thomas Merton.

Diamond mentions “kleptocracy”
where I would have used “plutocracy”
or “aristocracy”
rather than “democracy”
but this sounded too kleptomanic
to nutritiously feed integrity
of national health
and personal
and family
and non-elite wealth.

So I had to look up this kleptocracy word
to see if it might be the economist’s view
of the political scientist’s view
of plutocracy.

And, sure enough,
here it is,
right, but feeling very wrong,
on dictionary.com:
“A government or state in which
those in power exploit national resources
and steal”

This sounds familiar
from the Declaration of Independence,
in which the original USA forefathers
informed the British aristocracy
that we are all done
with the stealing of natural and human resources
thing they called “taxes” and “fees”
and the white male property owners
(including slaveowners)
called tribute
and extortion.

Meanwhile I was listening to the Cohen testimony
about some plutocratic kleptocrat
racist extortionist
buying and selling his white privileged way
into our way too WhiteHouse
extolling the unabashed value of WinLose capitalism,
so long as those born into “Win” households
remain unfettered from their colonizing
and extorting
and racist
and homophobic
and xenophobic lack
of any semblance
of traditional Christian virtues
or Islamic virtues,
or Buddhist virtues,
or Taoist virtues,
or Hindu virtues,
or Jewish virtues,
or democratic constitutional well-being
and prosperity virtues.

So, there you go,
I’ve already learned my new word for this plutocratic day
and kleptocratic nightmare.

Who knew?
We have words for everything
someone might ever need
to slice and dice
and serve up,
like food production
to grow less healthy
uncivilized undemocracies.

Populist Politics

When I was sixteen
I wanted Robert Kennedy’s popular life,
although I didn’t know about his time squandered
in staffing McCarthyism’s
Make America as Grotesque as Possible campaign,

Which would have given me pause
in that comparatively naive age
of green longing for peace
motherlands where brown and black loves matter,
regardless of gender identities.

I saw RK as a return to marketing ideas of liberating love,
cooperative Earth ownership and compassionate power-management,
constitutional principles of democratic interdependence
and extra-constitutional GoldenRule nonsectarian faith
originally established by heart-felt commitments to well-being
promoted by truly vulnerable prosperity muses,
prophets,

Leaders speaking and writing for healthy wealth
of non-violent Earth Enlightenment Eras,
later unfolding in frequent bilateral binary phases
with non-partisan WorldWide WealthWebs
of cooperative networking
for healthy vocations,
impassioned peace contentment
rediscovered inside and outside green sanctuaries.

At sixteen,
and again at sixty-four,
I longed for a Bodhisattva peace-prophet’s return
to messianically redeem history
retroactively back to our original interdependent ZeroZone
as seen through 2020 three-hundred and sixty degree revolutions
transubstantiating seasonal fractal-reasonal WinWin
wave-ranges of positive potential for energy circling democracy
bicameral left with loyal right
deductive idea predations
supporting inductive WinWin holistic positive souls.

I thought RK was cooperatively marketing compassionate green ideas
mutually held and regarded
and not so much selling out to red-blooded cults
of extraordinary WinLose ZeroSum ruthless personality.

When I was sixty-four,
watching Donald Trump and his allied predative Followers,
I thought about that earlier green Kennedy populism,
more free of Trumpian backlash against ecofeminist liberal love.

RightWing populism feels more run of the competing personality mill-storms
pumping up over-marketed under-powering fragile narcissistic egos
sold out to the biggest and baddest LoseLose lack
of Yang-strong ego ideas, cooperative thoughts
with yin’s flowing commitments toward eco-integrity
of interdependent destinies.

I suppose the popular RK would have been a more robustly WinWin President
than WinLose narcissistic populism could produce
back when cynical Richard Nixon became President.

But, the older 1960s historic frame
hopelessly obfuscates losing economic health
behind criminally losing ecological wealth.

Nixon’s cult of ego-supremacist militia personality,
marketing shameless self-worship
and his pathological lack of mindful integrity
predict Trumpian total loss of authentic transparent ego-investment
in anything more deeply patriotic
than what profiteers hope to see projected on TV
and read about in the best winner-take-and-rape-all newspapers
and glossy magazine articles of now fading Nixon infamy.

2020 revision frames bilateral candidates
for a black and/or brown green democratic ecofeminism
invested in governing with robust WinWin ideas,
cooperatively-owned GreenCommons
celebrating healthy care givers
and wealthy well-being receivers,
good faith ecological sanctuary occupiers,
civil citizens voting for health giver-balancing-receiver economic principles,
not so much violent personality Takers,
bad faith narcissists
betrayed by their/our own LoseLose political cynicism.

Green cooperative ideas
return our attention to GoldenRule
WinWin
deep ego/eco-learning constitutional centers
supporting deep learning listening children
growing up healthier in green organic families,
informed by compassion teachers and peers
green-cooperatively owning and managing Earth’s democratic energy
rooted in eco-centric ideas
and not ego-uber personality cults.

Ego/eco-balancing cooperatives
merge bicamerally polynomial-paradigmatic ZeroZones,
Tao-Gaian WholeSystem Hypotheses
of information/exfunction-flow reversion,

YangLeft with YinRight
WinWin
nutritional democratic idea optimization.

In retrospect,
perhaps I saw RK as iconic
for effectively marketing economic and politically green healthy democratic resilience
rather more cooperatively informed
than was his actual sometimes WinWin more health,
sometimes WinLose less nutrition,
actual ego/eco-conflicting intent.

My own now nearly instinctively dominant ego/eco-resonant center
recognizes LeftBrain fragmentation
of co-arising interdependent choices,
preferring interdependent phases of circular fractal waves
merging full-octave color frequencies
flinching from owning predative RightWing anger/fear intent
to be fully everyday enchanted
by Earth’s just-right cooperative inside/outside
inductive/deductive
creolizing/colonizing
eco-mindful/ego-predative
right-restorative/left-liberally loving
original WinWin co-relational freedom
to choose CoOperative ComPassion
over marketing competitive populist self-empowerment,
regardless of Earth-disempowerment consequences.

Liberal lovers
claim maternal rights
to reproductive powers of yes and no,
maybe and not yet lives.

While conservative haters
demand paternalistic rights
to purchase and bear deproductive automated powers of terminal wrong,
terrorizingly maybe and not yet deaths.

I would not think
we would need a PhD in health care
environmental science
or divine arts and crafts
to see which leans closer
to full-score democratic resilience,

Climate change is a catastrophic NATIONAL,
even international, DISASTER;
a poly-psychopathic source of extreme dissonance.

Anyone who knows our butts
from a BlackHole in the universe
will agree with you and me
on that singular point
legally and morally defining
a national climate of disaster,
dissonance, cognitive and affective and ineffective,
both psychologically and politically,
both realistic and effective only for feeding terror
(speaking of extensively traumatic anti-family disvalues),
shock and awe,
extreme rabidity,
manic-depression,
narcissistic anthropocentric cynicism,
Earth-matricide, etc.

Health and wealth losses due to illicit travel
over the U.S.-Mexico border:
NOT a disaster,
although probable cause for impatient patriarchal irritation
of the posterior,

No matter how many hours
or days
or weeks
or months you invest
in trial-ballooning
historical comparisons
and hysterical confusions
between authentic National Disasters
and nationalistic patriarchal concerns,
misogynistically irritating issues
about patient sufficiency of time
to feed your four to eight year politically bountiful posteriority.

Not having a physical wall
to presumably ease your narcissistic bad temper
about illicit travelers from Mexico
into the USA’s multiculturally great sacred Bounty
is also NOT a national emergency
way to respond to a NOT even close to an emergency,
more of a chronic supremacist stress syndrome.

The construction of defensive/offensive walls
is NOT an opportunity for internationally friendly investment
in wealthy resilient climate care.

Rather more of a scandalously toxic investment
in an anti-cooperative anti-environmental incorrect Wall
between what God has planted together,
North and South and Central,
red and yellow
black and white
We are precious in His 2020 sight,
so you best watch your wall-building competition steps.

Under the WinWin presumption
that violently narcissistic non-communication
was not your primary goal
when committing to invest in your current Presidential leadership role,
I would further suppose you have no interest
in casting yourself as the AntiChrist,
or ReverseBodhisattva, kind of a Badhi-unsattva Fool,
in a future Michael Moore film
about how to Make America Grotesque Again.

How do we perpetuate our neighbor’s view
that we are grotesquely ugly Americans?

Let’s build a wall,
with the ugly side facing out
and the cynical blonde and blue-eyed side facing in,
rather than our compassionate side facing out
and our more cooperative economic climate
refacing democratically universal positive energy within.

I’m musing with Jill Lepore,
historian (Harvard feminist, but definitely within brackets of general interest),
through eight hundred pages of These Truths
telling an other U.S. herstory.

She starkly says,
“Slavery is political”
while I had been thinking more of addictive economic
and punitive domestic relationships,
enslaving social absence of healthy relationships,
Dr. Lepore reminds me
about powerful natural/spiritual inter-relationships,
where overpowering addictions meet underpowering enslavement.

Nationalistically political
community-toxic apartheid,
personally oppressive-repressive ego-supremacist pathological
for both LeftBrain long-term smart investors
and RightBrain universal-frame cooperatively sentient property(ies) development.

Engaging the Family Laundry

Perhaps infertile
incomplete
unwashed memories
of elder v younger,
Goliath v David,
crusades v communion
critical, yet part of chronic, events
speak extended family disengagement truth
to powerful dirty laundry engagement failures.

That disclaimer said,
I have two incomplete conversations
in mind and heart
and what I hope I will eventually learn
from mistakes in anemic compassion
too thin for nobler listening opportunities.

When I was sixteen,
I courageously confronted my dad
about his white supremacist beliefs,
which would not endorse slavery
but were oppressively too comfortable
with White nationalism
and patriarchal white-washed privileged capitalism
Win/Lose meritocracy theology,
teleology,
evolutionary ethology,

God’s chosen evidence of Black and Brown unfortunate
lack of pure enough LeftBrain intelligence
to successfully care for their own intellectual
and physical
property/properties God given
but in a more niggardly way.

After all, if they were as full of divine grace as we are
then they never would have become forced migrant fieldhands
and robotic domestic servants
before we had robotic domestic servants,
properly satisfied with a basic shack,
self-grown food,
cotton-picking and sugar-caning uniforms,

Rented and unrented servants capable of learning
yet not relentlessly driven by passion
for deeper democratic health interdependent webs of life
empowered each day by dense political understanding,
robust economic awareness of who has power to sell
and who has insufficient power to redeem
what could never be naturally-spiritually commodified
without severely wounded ego-disintegrity,
social madness,
political fury.

When I asked my dad,
Why are you so sure people of color,
especially women,
are so intellectually and emotionally and and mentally inferior to you,
the WhiteMan
living in an all white rural community
and all white nationalist church
fully invested in a white
plutocratic
military-industriously colonizing
authoritarian mess?
And an all white school system
and all white county government
all your life?

He could not point to any experience
of his own white superiority
But he could pull out a Reader’s Digest article
regarding research on standardized LeftBrain tests
with unstated lexicon
and linguistic norms
of dialectally empowered WhiteEnglish DominantSpeak.

My WiseElder dad told me to read it
and get back to his more seniority self
if I had any further naive questions.

That was the end of that conversation.
Question asked
and self-declared orthodox textual reference answered.

A year ago
I asked my White nationalist evangelical older brother
if he would vote for D Trumpian again,
and, if so, why?
Given his Christian God of love
and his GoodNews evangelistic vocation
to bring universal peace
and uniting divine justice to all people
everywhere,
now and in rapturous kingdom at near ill-defined hand
of future Heaven
for all eternity,
red and yellow,
black and white,
they are precious
in His sight.

My brother responded,
While troubled by Trumpian narcissism,
and maybe over-wrought cynicism,
Trump’s anti-immigrant
anti-Islam sectarianism
are a good faith fit
for God scripturally written to be pissed off
about pagan idolatrous hedonists
and uppity women
and lying stealing greedy children
and people too stupid to get it
that God has been strategically designed
in a RightWing dominant WhiteMan’s ancient
fascist
apartheid image
of spiritualized
denatured seclusion.

Well, OK,
he explicitly said just the first part,
about keeping out the threatening anti-Christian,
pro-liberal ecofeminist choice,
anti-family values foreigners,
All for building an impermeable moat
around a White privileged patriarchal “Christian” nation
on an awesome well-lit hill,
originally intended to be democratically enfranchised
only for White male property-owners,
possibly including Black and Native American slave property,

But only White property-owners have historically correct autonomous rights
to carry automatic military rifles
and drive gas and oil-hog Hummers to an all-White church
in substantially Black and Brown Flint, Michigan.

When I asked him why keeping Muslims,
and perhaps other Black
and suspiciously Spanish-speaking Brown people out,
was more important to his Christian beliefs
than keeping democratic family health care in
and USA climate therapeutic care
at the top of our global investment budget,
even higher than our ballistic automated threat budget
designed to blow up people
and plants
and planet,
He said he had no interest in that conversation.

The only important conversation for us,
from his fundamental dogma-centered power position,
was how much of the King James Holy Bible
I have properly memorized and adopted,
not adapted,
and invited into my personal everyday relationship with Jesus.

The political Jesus,
unmarried Messiah
and Teacher of following GoodNews Truth
into universal interdependent compassion,
most accessible to a child, wounded and poor in spirit,
when Win/Win Truth invites GoldenRule conflict
between elders and siblings
about signs of extended family integrity
and wonders of divinely humane non-walled communion,
non-apartheid community,
non-violent communication…

Again, I digress
from explicit historical conversations
about experiential evidence for White nationalist privilege
on into internal implications for WinWin empowering communion
where I can sometimes Left with Right childlike balance,
still finding and grasping onto
universally inviting unitarian
co-operative laundry cleaning compassion.

Unitarian Universalism
feels as old as Taoism

We do not affirm

I once heard,
Hope is what can positively happen
after listening to all the realistic facts
and then continuing in good faith anyway.

I also heard,
Cynicism about others,
like narcissism about oneself,
is sadly generative,
expansively powerful,
contagious

Just as hope about others
and compassion with oneself
are happily generative,
exponentially win/win contagious.

Both negative and positive attitudes are generative,
but hope is cooperatively regenerative
while external cynicism,
like internal narcissism,
like ecopolitical fascism,
is degenerative,
competitively contagious,
inviting a long, slow, painful
lose/lose death.

Cynicism flirts with Lose/Lose outcomes
projections
often escalated by competing
“If you think that’s horrible enough,
listen to this terrifying
or merely titillating tale…”

Despite our broken
wounded
depressing cynically competing natures
and narcissistic nurtures
of Business As Usual stories of competing
capital-hoarding ego-centrism,
Active 2020 hope looks for WinLeft/WinRight options,
plans,
eco-operatively reassociating
mutual ego-healing
across all multicultural
and polypathic
non-sectarian
good-faith systems,
cooperatively-owned nutritional networks.

Cynicism projects Earth’s LoseLose demise.
Scepticism questions, doubts, humanity’s WinLose economy
could ever become a long-term healthy trajectory.
Optimism actively hopes a short-term investment
in egocentric deflation, dis-investment, detachment
will lead to long-term Lose to Win
healthier egocentric evolution
some other climate darkening day.

models short-term through long-term compassionate ecstasy
restoring peace and holistic justice

Green sanctuary 2020 left/right

universal/unitarian (not fragmentarian) revolutions,

regathering bilateral interior-beliefs
compassioning exterior-behavior.

Regenerate hope is what happens
after listening to all the RealTalk
co-operating healthy passions
any way
any time
any where
everyday.
