Democratic Poverty

I was listening to NPR yesterday
on my way to small green group ministries,
when I heard post-millennial Republicans
favor apartheid
while the contemporary urban-green Democrat
favors laziness.

I don’t know if this includes intellectual laziness,
lack of rigor,
and laziness about ecotherapeutic health,
but in either case,
this conflicts with my own experience,
regarding Democrats and lack of healthy motivation
but also of Republicans I actually know,
except perhaps my brother
and a Trump worshiping neighbor,
regarding apartheid as a fundamental religious constitutional right
to Christian evangelical colonizing supremacy
over all 3/5th former slaves
and other less fortunate criminals.

If Democrats are guilty of lazy love for restoring Earth’s
healthy subclimates,
both yin-side
and yang-outdoor voiced,
then what do we call Republican guilt
responsibility
lack of moral authority
to stop blowing each other
and trees
and Earth-habitat up,
both secular nature-systems
and sacred ZeroZone souls
of divine Matriarchal Grace.

When I arrived
to listen
and share non-verbal peaceful space
with my small green group alliance,
we sang and danced and spoke of connections
through active listening
rather than lazy lack of sufficient compassion
with suffering
and wealth of correlational enchantment
courageous coherence,
curious collusion,
collateral for healthy future prospects.

Then we each went home
in our own four directions
until we close our loops together
again next New Moon morning.

Our sacred choir
prepares a new anthem
which, in summary, goes:

I have the deep soul blues today,
so Give Me Music.

This troubles me
because Music erupts from within,
more primal than a commodity to be delivered
upon command.

What is wrapped and presented from outside
we may hear only as voices with rhythm
and harmony
and unresolved dissonance–
but all these together
are not yet our enchanting music muse
fully investing
infesting
musing through us.

Choral inside voiced music,
resonate through all four voices,
sharing our deep-rooted muse,
blues soul longing to speak and dance
music of the stars,

To come home again
where we have always shared soul belonged
inducing peace.

Sacred choirs
do not usually demand of matriarchal Earth,
Give Me Music!

More likely we invite experience
of more resilient inside dancing muses
healing like anciently redundant starlight.

I feel angst in soulful mourning
that cannot be healed through commanding
Give Me Music
or anything else, for that matter.

But, loss does invite deeper experience of resonance
and small bits of creatively digestible resolving dissonance
to feel better
about absence of remembering

What is our starlight soul
but well-sung dance
enlightening solidarity?

If we are asking Earth
to heal us with the Muse of starlight mystery,
then, indeed,
Give Us Music’s full harvest
blowed an’ blowed.

The Perpetual Beginner Poet

This may come as large surprise,
but I did once take a beginner’s poetry class
which I often confuse with my beginner parenting class.

In which we learned good verse
and voice
have structure
pattern
imprinting rhythm
rich metaphoric content
perhaps even epic regenerative story,
assonant bouquet,
climates of hue and cry.

Who would or could a poet be
or hope to at last become
and yet unresponsively disagree?

Not me.

Even so,
if what I write
cannot resonate within your calling day,
and hopefully tomorrow
and resiliently flow on back
through all your best, not worst,
imagined yesterdays,
Then we are not yet our resonant poetry
so it is not so richly mine,
nor true poetry at disfamiliar all
of any kind
or mean spirit
natural
or unnatural.

Strong poetry cannot flow anonymously
autonomous.

My poetic muse shrinks,
like wound from salt,
from capital competing
absent co-infested resonance
resiliently wounded assonance
