Silent Sacred Spaces

I’m noticing
you’re not noticing
I’m starting to look for
what you’ve already heard
with anticipation
overpowering my internal anxious voice
with calm
and kind compassion

When Other disharmonious human voices
speak of win/win choices

Or sing
a right-handed dance
within my balanced EarthTribal range
of listening
for sacred silent choice.

I become
my still-maturing surprise,
replacing my “Other” anxiety,
awkwardness
disappointment

About unfocused AnthroVoice insecurities
in suffering Other’s compassion,
insufferable curiosity,
predative empathic touching,
yet igniting mellow multicultural waves
of resonant pastel sound,
resilient brilliant sight

And these in-between times
silent solitude sacred rests
between transparent syncopations
of impatient human sounds,
inhumane frowns

Not interacting with same room
or screen-time voices,
thoughts
verb-tainted feelings,

These soulful un-nouned bests
have, until recently,
invited anxious boredom,
apathy,
depression,
aching loneliness,
emotional apartheid,

While now
in this human sound silence
of co-redemption
I absently reach out
for deeply exploring
sounds of Simon/Garfunkel’s silence.

Negative and positive felt voices
provoking newly found choices
liberty of equanimity,
good humored curiosity about anxiety
stress
trauma triggers

Cooperatively reaching
for anticipating
future eco/ego therapy
indigenous healing
wisdom securing
conserving liberating
internal/external co-passions,

Smiles
and frowns,
ups
and downs,’
transcendent lights
and immanent powers,
remembered lives
projected loves
for capitalized risks
minimized by win/win nutritional opportunities
for nurturing silent
calm and kind
time outside/inside co-invested bliss.

Rules of Engagement

For tonight
celebrating 163 birthdays
among the three of me,
my husband,
and oldest son’s May birthdays
within four days of each other

For tonight
unestranged,
and, if we each prefer,
for the remainder of our lives
more together,
less apart

We are here to understand
and express appreciation
for and with each other,
not to fix anyone’s misunderstandings
or positions
or perspective
or ignorance
or sin
against God
or Country
or common sense,
or love for each other,
or all of the above.

That way,
if we get confused
about which of these

White God
Red v Blue country
or common sense

Pillars of economic and political wisdom
we have so shamefully violated,

It doesn’t matter
because we’re not going to try
to understand Othering tonight

And, if you prefer,
for the remainder of our co-invested lives
more together,
less apart.

If you want feedback
about Past or Future You,
please ask
Because, for tonight,
we are here together
to hear how you are feeling now
about appreciating abundant you
as you are

And about appreciating us
as we are

And any memories of our past
we can revisit
with full integrity
appreciating you
as part of us–
your Me
as our interwoven We.

and not doing,
about who you are becoming

And sometimes we appreciate
this sacred life,

And sometimes we over-invest
in more short-term compromised
self-righteous defensive lives
more like apartheid
than an interdependent sacred web,

And sometimes we submit
to a didactic
dogmatic web of fake
dissociative
supremacist
chosen people
rightwing or leftwing
anthrosupremacist
monotheistic
monoculturing
bipolar piety.

And sometimes we royally permit
Earth’s wild polycultural experience
to engage
in earliest win/win memories
of embryonic bilateral sensory communion,
nutritional economic networks
of interdependent life.

And sometimes we act out
against EarthTribe survival
as if we believe only the cockroaches
will thrive
in a redhot pathological Anthropocene,
and roaches are our most resilient Elders,

Although, sadly,
perhaps not our happiest
or most liberated
or particularly enlightened progenitors

Well, maybe more consistent
about respecting our interdependent web
of EarthTribe life.

Who knows,
really?

What healthy/safe relationships

It’s hard to be Green
in a Red v Blue drama scene

Hard to be heard
and seen
when the Blues
say the Reds
are too mean
and the Reds
find the Blues
too liberally obscene

It’s hard to be Green
when political business
is about capital investment debate
and not how to ecosystemically abate
the invasion of our hate
amid failure of our late
climatic Anthropocene.

It’s hard to be Green
and seen
in a Red v Blue debate
about sharing our ballistic toys
with other militarized girls and boys
who believe we are safer to be mean
than to plant a spring garden
of polyculturally healthy cuisine.

It’s hard to be cooperatively Green
in a Win or Lose
Red or Blues debate
about who is most worthy
to trust
not to covertly lust
for powers bending the minds
and chilling the hearts
and killing the home
of our late Great Transitioning
unearthly mean
formerly Green
Anthropocene.

It’s hard to grow Green
humbly in-between
clearly,
dogmatically,
emphatically,
apartisan unseen.

Our Left hemispheres repeatedly seek stable reassurance,
hopefully not so much about

Am I the fairest/ugliest
of ThemOthers all?

But more maturely

calmly
compassionately,

How am I healthy/unhealthy?
Eased/not diseased?

Meanwhile,
Right hemisphere follows a similar question
of healthy/unhealthy purpose,
but more intuitively systematic,
more about inter-relationship,
about felt content and known context.

If healthy
confluent consciousness,
then why
and when
are we safe/unsafe?

A constantly repeated question
of healthy rational purpose,
or not,

But also,
more deeply,
more sacredly felt,
a quest for safe co-passionate meaning
in relationship to
and from
our progenitor gifts

Our indigenously wise
nature/spirit together felt fellow
hearty
hardy
hale anthro-familials,

Residents of spirit-natured
Yang mountain forests
and Yin river valleyed mellow meadows,

Animals,
animated insects,
birds and beasts,

of care giving
and receiving
sacred shifts
toward cherished bright esteem.

In this sacred win/win culture
of indigenous compassion,
all celebrants cooperatively steward
gifts circling through reciprocity
and back toward MeWe integrity
again.

We dance in sacred circles of meaning,
not merely in secular cause-effective lines
for capitalizing straight efficient purpose

We learn to share our passion
while watching red berries
offer up their healthing gifts
from strong-hearted root systems

synergetic nurturing networks.

Small seeds
cherished gifts
reminding We to Me
Mother Seeds make merry
underground,
beneath humane hearing.

EarthDay gifts
trust me,

to uphold our sharing systems,

and grow,
which is good for berries
and their students

Reminding elders

is mutually healthy thrival
flow.

Depressing anxiety
about future certain consumer losses,
like mortality
of ego’s timid bare humanity,
extract possibilities
for healthy Earth Day resilient impressions
at every future imagined turn
to hoard more gifts.

In healthier indigenous EarthDay circles
living lands are teaching gifts,
not subservient property
for supporting self-convenienced students

Inside looking
and listening through a screened speaker
not noticing Earth is first
a birth of whole-sum seeds
before we close our hardened doors
for protecting empty closed mines
without a humanely engineered
shovel for digging hidden
hoarded inside treasures.

We are EarthBound
by a win/win covenant
of regenerative reciprocity
breathing in healthy gifts
breathing out wealthy shifts
winter and summer,
predator and prey,
fire and grass,
night and day,
dying and living
power dark and bright lights

Cosmic dancing
co-gravitating gifted muses
wrapping and unwrapping
Earth Days and Nights again

In this dance of the giveaway
we remember Earth springs forth
and harvests back songs
we need for win/win
hoarding lose/lose mourning
passage of polar bears,
silence of cranes,
death of rivers
transporting gifts like
winter’s wounding snow
swelling banks
expanding loss

Perhaps too late
for future healthy regenerations
we may, this Earth Day,
recognize dazzling gifts
from MotherEarth’s womb
as WeMe teeters on the cusp
of our Great UnGift Extinction.

Let us hold tall
and spread wide
our liberally loving gifts
of our own cooperative making
copassionate warming acts
transcendently soaring ideas
perfect regifting tools
are not offensive weapons
fiercely defending against loss
of all Earth’s days
now given before

Tomorrow’s gifts of mind
hands
heart
voice
silence
vision
revision
offered up
and out,
down
and in
on behalf of sacred Earth.

Whatever our gift,
we are called to give
and regive,
to dance for renewal
of EarthTribe’s world
in return for MeWe privilege
to breathe in
and out
Earth’s living love.
