I’m reading The Evolving Self:
A Psychology for the Third Millennium,
by Czikszentmihalyi,
and How the West [sadly] Came To Rule:
The Geopolitical Origins of Capitalism,
Alexander Anievas and Kerem Nisanciogla
at the same time.

Czikszentmihalyi (C) wears academic labels of Positive Psychology,
interested in why and when and where
our neurosystemic psyche’s do cooperatively flow best,
and when our upper-caste preserving ego identities are more likely to get in the way
of resilient mental happiness,
a poly-empathic cobinary bliss zone.

Anievas and Nisconciogla (A&N), well, it’s complicated,
but Anievas wears a political scientist label,
and is interested in why and when and where differentiated economic and political forces are more competitively successful,
winning intercontinental history’s weaponized

dispassionate

are less likely to grow up

I start wondering if C’s co-arising forces of Me v We ego-differentiation

win/win strategic health-system opulence could,
on a wider, more geopolitical, scale,
be dynamically equivalent to A&N’s uneven Us v Them
geo-political maturation
within potentially integral
polyculturally associative
win/win pronoia strategic
polyculturing inter-religious prosperity,
ebbing and flowing internationally enlightened
and intercontinentally empowering trends
toward democratic-rich

Another approach,

but not caste-under, “eco” means to you,

The search for Yang/Yin balance is, in this sense,

When you’re on top already,
proclaiming King of the US Mountain

When you hope
and have faith
and love that you are among God’s caste-up elite
in stark contrast to those sinners you would remain forever separated from,
then your separatist position
is also a defense-against-change position
to maintain

Only if you were a klan of black feminist lesbians

Singing Stevie’s Wonder

I remember,
in the early 60s,
our thirty mile drive
from our historic family farm,
in relentlessly White rural Michigan,
not counting the Mexican migrant workers
whom our Elders pointedly discarded

Singing
on the first shifty shopping trip to Thrifty Acres,
through vibrantly young Black
urban heated streets
of capital glancing Lansing.

Stevie Wonder and I
nearby
yet out casting far

Him singing
all Black city churches
ringing

And me queer pillaged
in all White rural churches
villaged

Stevie and me,
harmonic neighbor memory
in my privately humming heart

Yet never possible to publicly meet
and privately greet
as this sacred land
and this organic Earth
were meant to resonantly sing
and resiliently dance
our regenerations in caste
together
not degenerations outcast
apart.

I didn’t know apartheid by default yet
but I do remember
seeing nearly black as ink skin
for my very first impassioned time

On a smiling brown-eyed boy
on a chipped and flat white painted bike
without defensive rims

And dim longing to talk
and listen
and laugh with him

About fresh green smells of freedom
from poor tired training wheels

Freedom to create our fast together pedaling breeze

This was my erasing moment,
too quickly racing past,
to know passion’s love
at first passed sight

Color Blind

Some people say they don’t see color
or caste.

I look for others who do see color
and want to make rhapsodies together
with symphonic us.

I long to see more multiculturing colors
and less monocultural monochromatic
white v black monotheistic responsibility
for opportunities at-risk
among those organically gifted mammals
who don’t believe a colorful Earth
could sacredly matter.

Some people see color and say “Why?”
Yet when we can see that same color
within a prism’s octave unity,
wisdom might well engage “Why not!?”

Ask not what your eagle nation’s indigenous coloring can do for you;
ask what your wise owl poly-colored relationships can do
for our way too straight beige nation.
Or, even better, ask both eagle and owl
light perception and night wisdom
as if co-arising spectral passions
and non-violent resonance.

Some people say they don’t see
or hear
or feel color
but have no problem remembering their own,
and how they are
and are not
appreciated for diverse symphonic opportunities.

I look for those who do see color
and hope to make far more wisdom of it
than I could ever imagine

monochromatically white
as an unholistic ghost.

An open letter to new legislators,
new chief executive officers,
new judges,
and all new healthy climate parents
and other health and safety advocates.

When you were in the process of securing this new position in your life
perhaps you were expected to speak fluently
about how your past experiences,
often negative,
had prepared you for this vocation at this time,
to represent the most prosperous and healthiest interests
for all,
especially the grandkids,
within your electoral/appointive constituency, first,
and then, as possible,
for all people everywhere.

You were elected, appointed, selected, or at least blessed.
So presumably you do this well,
this learning from past negative experience
to suggest how we will do better
with active hope for your future
in this empowered choice-making position

Representing your extended intentional familiar’s healthiest wealthiest interests
and also, with further maturation,
extending your budgeting authority for just and peaceful leadership
and political responsibility for kind and loving mentorship
across your entire organic constituency of bio- and ecosystems.

Your fluency between systemic trauma experience
and problem-solving reflection,
trauma-informed discernment,
is presumably why we selected you
to carry often heavy responsibilities for others
with, hopefully, wise freedoms of co-invested authority

Not too much authority
becoming a poor listener and ungrateful student,
and not too little responsibility
lacking integrity of enlightened and empowered
sacred health and organic safety.

By now, if you are a promising candidate or nominee,
you know far too much about why we all seem to be losing healthy climates together
when our wealthiest wise intention is to grow more cooperatively owned
and health-managed
climates and cultures,
manscapes and landscapes,
bodies and minds,
humane corporations and organic incarnations
progressing toward resiliently peaceful
polycultural
polyamorous
pronoia inter-relationships

Rather than more greed business as pathologically normal,
investing in divide and conquer politics,
and budgeting priorities
complacent about inevitable unhealthy
partisan
hate- and anger- and fear-mongering.

The Original Sin of opposing compassion/pleasure
mind/body deep-rooted integrity

Thereby promulgating further dispassionate communication
dissociating sacredly wealthy capitalist minds
from organically healthy corporate bodies.

More healthy (and inter-religiously blessed) democratic choices,
in this transitional time
inviting more economic and political gratitude
for ever-new kind and loving opportunities
while living more compassionately
and pleasantly,
within our richly diverse responsibilities.

  1. It is now time
    to come through on all those verbal commitments I made
    to myself
    and to those who have put me behind this desk,
    or even on this pedestal,
    based on wisdom of learning curves rooted in past regenerative experience,

on this transformative journey
toward economic and political
enlightened and empowering
cooperative love-life discovery
about what promises to optimally secure
and sustain
short and long-term regenerative healthcare outcomes?

On the other hand, what threatens to perpetuate
dissociative 0-sum bottom-line
capital-investment
Business As Competitively Usual,
defiantly invested in my either Win or Lose campaign debates
but not in my wiser
and more Win and Win bipartisan co-empathic moments
and cooperative days
and co-invested weeks?

Bicamerally evolving, revolving, resonating
more compassion
more deep learning curiosity loving hearts
resonant, rather than dissonant, bihemispheric ecological minds
born of DNA-fueled bodies
born of RNA-reweaving deep rooted ecotherapeutic
peak interdependently cooperative climate experiences
recomposing organically wealthy planet Earth.

We could approach this season of gratitude
more democratically investing in cooperative ownership and management
of interdependent political economies.

Healthy peace-making cultures
prefer to invest in deeper and wider democratic ownership
rather than more competitive plutocratic mismanagement
and authoritarian ownership.

Bilateral exchange economies,
like the power and control political relationships
from which communication systems derive
investment and divestment values,
with monopolistic capitalist 0-sum Win or Lose understories,
monotheistic anthropocentric entitlement stories
assuming survivalist might makes right evolutionary theory
is the only true historic game
on cooperative organic-nurturing polycultural Earth

Will always health- and wealth-care underperform
more robust empowerment of democratically multicultural
win and win bilaterally co-intelligent peace-making

through both word and action

for fear it may be too vacuous for vibrant connection.
He flirts with ‘wisdom’; better.
But, apparently is not familiar with Gregory Bateson’s ecology
of natural regenerativity as sacred and/or organic ‘system’ dynamics.

Mihaly says these nature-spirit skills [systems?]
require power to directly control experience,
but this does not feel directly, or sufficiently, accurate to me.

Wise healthcare skills develop capacities to control feelings
about personal embodied experience,
including our unilateral incapacity to control systemic trauma
and/or peak polyvagal climax experiences,
for robust or struggling healthcare wealth.

Sacred/organic mindbody wisdom
feels less LeftBrain dominant
about “manipulating memes that increase harmony among people’s thoughts,”
and more RightBrain prominent
about communicating polyculturally polyamorous feelings

Of waxing and waning passion/pleasure
that increase resilient resonance
with other’s compassionately therapeutic
and dispassionately traumatic
neurosystemic experiences

Actively hoping
to increase ecologically organic
and personally sacred harmony
among kind and loving healthcare thoughts, emotions,
democratically inclusive willpower,
cooperative win/win powers

To consume and produce
healthy co-investments
and systemic trauma disinvestments
(e.g. not taxpaying the TrumPublican malgovernance mis-administration

I am less inclined to label those with deep listening
sacred ecology learning skills
‘shamans’
preferring ecotherapists,
or ‘priests’
preferring Gaia Hypothesis enlightened
and trauma-challenge empowered
healthcaring authority figures.

More likely among those who never had to unlearn
dogmatic belief in a monoculturing god
of retributive condemnation
created in our own anthropocentric image.

Ultimately impassioned
and panentheistically pleased
our neuro-sexsensory systems indigenously agree

Wise sacred/organic elders, like trees,
thrive through neuro/eco-systemically remembered
win/win reinvested
compassionate communication outcomes
outputs
regenerate health
and safe democratic wealth
results.

How Sacred Earth Has Lost

The title,
How the West Came to Rule,
disturbs me enough to continue reading,
like wanting to escape a nightmare
but too fear frozen with why it could never truly end well
to stop dreaming.
In this case,
is to stop reading.

This history of violent capitalism’s romp across Earth,
fueled by eco-political engines of Europe,
and then industrialized and militarized former colonies,
is brilliantly nuanced and developed

And yet, for me,
the subtitle GeoPolitical Origins of Capitalism
is also the story of
How the East Came to Defeat
through more economically
and politically cooperative-normed extended families

Elder Venerating as reconnecting practice
nurturing personal and familial prosperity,
multiculturally held as religious and ethical,
ecological and psychological,
natural and spiritual grace

patriarchal/matriarchal
enlightening/empowering
polytheistic ecological balance

In remarkable contrast
