I woke up this morning
wondering where I was last night

before wandering how I last got home

Our President
here at the local nonpartisan association
also appreciates Americans
he has never met
or heard
or smelled

Not to mention out to get
never ever tasted,
at least without informed consent,

And
I am confused
that our President would feel
he needs to say this,
as if appreciating Americans

I readily concede
I could be wrong
but I can at least imagine

feeling and believing,

that he appreciates

he has never met

And would just as soon
not change his monopolistic bliss
to CounterCulturally encounter Othering
dark ignorance,
just yet.

I don’t know if it is a positive
or negative coronary corollary
to further extend
this metaphoric analogy

Yet Trump,
unlike Biden,
could never get
a multiculturally gifted American
he has not yet met

But I would bet
it would be hard to vet

too healthy to ever regret
not having had the pleasure
of meeting many Trumpian Americans

Blank page syndrome
feels like full page longing
to be done with some work project
