sometimes co-invested

Yet unspoken
lyrically right spaced
and left lined
healthy mind
mined
mimed
mused questions.

S/he also wonders why
LeftBrain dominant monoculturalism,
like warring monopolies
and terrifying angry monotheism
and fear of His unfeeling monotony
and mono-monied values
sound like madness marching
in vicious politicized squares

While RightMind prominent S/He polycultures
feel polypathically polymathic
virtuous ecological recircling potential
and polyvagal music rivered
polyphonic inside shivered
energetic peace duo-potency

Not so much at war
dueling impotency.

S/he questions
If thick and robust LeftBrain engagement
could not possibly become
more stereophonically peaceful,
reiteratively co-passionate
RightMind communal,

Yet intimately at rest,
vicariously imagined
EarthCentric reality remembered
resilient

Entertainments,
vacations,
Healthy-Happy Holidays,

BiLateral questions
ego/eco-systemic communications,

ReCreative
BiCameral consciousness
of co-operating primacy
for peaceful co-relationship

S/he wonders
if her RightMind co-relational primacy
deeply listens for
and widely speaks of
his LeftBrain dominant Ego
capitalized AnthroSupremacy

When wiser win/win dialogue
degenerates
into win/lose debate
between healthy
cooperative
engaging Her not-not questions
and wealthy
competitions with HiStory
entertaining co-passionate Him
positive bicultural answers.

S/he wonders
if sometimes,
and perhaps always,
the opposite of peaceful integrity
is aggressive loneliness.

Prayer Stories

Who we pray to,
what we worship,
these are less important
than what we worship with,
whom we pray with,
and never against.

Yet, who we pray with
feels less important
for global peace
and restoring Earth’s great
timeless justice,
than whom we refuse
to pray with,
and sometimes,
on our worst days,
insist on judging against

And whom we have
never crossed a highway
or mine field
to pray with
is more important
to personal health
and Earth’s wealth
than whom we are willing to pray for
only from a safe distance,
and only on our most charitable days,
generously impassioned nights.

How we pray
with mouth
mind
heart
sensory body
hungry gut
passionately rooted soul,
psalms and chakras
of deliberating
dialogical sound,

This primally matters
in reproductive relationship
co-arising animus mundi
in anima prayers
with and from indigenous
wisdom for and below
above deep
and wide humanity’s
best divine prayers

Passion stories
of how active prayer
embraces intimate narratives
of spacious
sacred
solidarity

Rooted in knowing
who we pray to
remains timelessly less important
than whom we intimately
compassionately play with,
and never against.

Auspicious Nest

“The core of knowledge is love”

This dark November night
in New England
has come but midway

I, not so bright,
have given in
without a fight
to insomnia.

Above the small round yellow light
on my factory 48-pane window ledge
overpowering my bedroom walls
soar grayly up
toward a faint 16 foot ceiling
dark, also not so bright
when time to pay the factory’s bill
for heat
and light.

I woke up thinking about natural love
as my perfection of spiritual knowledge,
which is so far from perfect
that compassion too often remains
hypothetically unhealthy;
again, not such a bright
yet curiously necessary light.

My love has preceded coming out,
but has also followed from
indigenous perfection
of matrilinear knowledge,
that resiliently courageous DNA
embedded inside the nucleus
of each of “my” organically cooperative
synergetic,
win/win home team
cells
made of more resilient knowing might
than this stretched out
November love of night.

I remember warm
sacred EarthMother
resonant wealth
holy of home wholenest feelings

Fresh from Her womb
therapeutic Beauty feelings precede
but also restoratively follow from
perfectly healthy democratic trusts
in spiritually regenerative Truths
transparent as tonight’s opaque glass
vulnerable to personal
yet multigenerational ass
umptions

That insomniac drifting meditations
and medications
will not, tonight,
ease my economic
and politically vulnerable knowledge
my compassion’s transparency
sadly feels less brightly resonant,

Less depression-proof resilient
than these remaining hours
before dawn relights
Earth’s coloring in knowledge
loving powers

To turn off lights
in timely nights
knowing the end

Brings new knowledge
begun in EarthMother’s sacred love,

Integrity’s Great Reweaving potential
green cooperative history

Knowing sight
and meaningful
resonant resound

As my night seizure knowing son
rolls over
peacefully in love’s eternal
Loving Here
greets Knowing Now

Regeneratively bright
might imagine starlight
singing to revolving
ringing shadowed
deep autumn night.

Tomorrow is local election day
to reconsider transparent
climate trauma’s multigenerational knowledge
politically and economically vulnerable
to EarthMother’s long love memory

Pandemonic Hope

“I believe in the sun
even when it is not shining”

I remember someone recently resaying
what has long lain unsaid
inside my paradoxical head,

When asked if I believe in God,
I don’t know what to say.

I might not believe in your God,
at least on my worst
pain-darkened day.

And,
I seem to believe in my own
only in those rare rain-free moments
healthy ego- and eco-gratifying

When I am having a climax heart
and head
song
and dance remembering
re-ligioning
reconnecting EarthMoment

Shared with at least one Other,
perhaps for our first through last time
in this
our day of sacred synergy

Sustaining
surrounding
celebrating a yellow morning
mellow sunrise
promising this wealthy day
without soggy rain

As we prepare to health harvest
warmly fragrant sun-dried hay
I quietly say

So, there is a God,
after all.

“And I believe in love
even when there’s no one there.
And I believe in God
even when he is silent.”

These two additional beliefs
feel like one Relief Belief
to my bicameral head choice
and heart voice.

For it has often been said
and felt
that God is love

Especially when
Matriotic HolySpirit of Love
doesn’t act like a Patriarchal Fool

And, by that,
I reference my own sociopathology
of privileged entitlement
monoculturally over-invested
in capitalist Straight
White
Earth Predations
Colonizations
Extractions
Rapaciousness

But,
my most courageous inscriptions
of whispering hope
often not felt enough
sacredly chosen silence
in spaces between
my LeftBrain dominant
distracting notes

Where my own AnthroSupremacism
falls vibrantly listening
to responsively hear
Elder MotherTrees
sigh
and breeze

Silently praying
for strong rooted
cooperative integrity

Within this organic Green Communion
forest of hands on
generating regenerous Hope.

Pandemonic Hope is part of a series of theological reflections offered to and from the All Souls Unitarian-Universalist Choir in New London, Connecticut. 

“Inscription of Hope” was composed for the Nebraska Choral Arts Society and Children’s Chorus by Z. Randall Stroope, in conversation with a Russian Folk Tune.  His lyrics are drawn from an inscription on cellar walls hiding Jews in Cologne, Germany, during World War II. Stroope’s own 1994 reflection on the significance of these words, in this Holocaust pandemonic context, “Hope was all they had to hold on to; hope was their only bridge to a brighter [nonviolently restoring justice] tomorrow.”
