When my solitude
silently stands in sunlight
radiating GoldenRule enlightenment
and rational empowerment
through windows dawning bright,

A sharp shadow line
vertically cuts across my bridge
and brow of smell and seeing senses,

InBetween left within shadow
and right without radiance,
narrow sides of double-bonded Truth,
curious and hidden Beauty.

Right eye clearly articulating
bright prominent sight
dominantly lit up height
for best resonant enlightenment

Is blinded by bright
to not fight
automatic rays deflecting night,

While shadow Left,
not yet overpowered
with Right red-eyes blinded punishment,
benighted verbal authority,

BiLaterally
yet integrally knows he she sees
seas
and seasons dipolar co-arising contrast
best as starkest
never darkest
win/win economic dawning options
of BothLeft/AndRight gold radiating rain
in droughts known
through beatified non-pain,
bicameral light regained,
empowered feelings unslain

Again
full bicameral stereo polyphonic,
Radiantly healthy thoughts
not verbally sustained
without dark ultra winnings
winging out and in reimaged, full
golden silent solidarity
mountain-rivered,
ego-system eco-quivered,

Belonging to Earth committed bright
compassion soul
ZeroZone of full
new partial shadows
in light rememory,
undelivered solitude
for health safe night

Today is assiduously
religiously different,
as I review our local RiverEast News.

Every week
Mike Thompson writes a solid Editorial
in a compelling voice.
I expect to only add
my hearty sacred
happy secular “Amen!”

Our nearly fearless Editor and Chief
calls for political “ACCOUNTABILITY!”
like so many others on bipolar Left through Right,

And those still hanging on
with battered nails
to quickly fading dipolar
in-between HAVE-NOT
anthrocultured primacy race
and HAVE
cash class
co-empathic consciousness
that renters and owners need each other
like borrowers and banks
yet feel as competitively apart
as victims and predators,
droning prey and patriarchal colonizers

Insurrectionists,
nihilistic HAVE-NOT anarchists
military industrialized
invade our sacred capitalistic space,
so now, I read,
“there needs to be
accountability.”

I do not disagree, BUT…
AND would you not agree
our shared future will be healthier,
and co-investing wealthier,
if predators claim their own responsibility
for exceeding civil and civic
democratically cooperative authority
through more slow-grown discernments

Rather than passionate placards
preferring hot
and sometimes armed
debate
drama
extraction
capture
imprisonment
enslavement
debacle
bacchanalia,
angry selfie Theater

Fueled by manufactured Bud
more than ancient cannabis buds.

Our angry Editor
lashes nationalistic Republicans out of town,
especially the transcendently unEarthly
Vice President Pence,
praying for “healing” and “unity,”
and not even close enough
for government work
invoking a sacred benediction
through end of term ACCOUNTABILITY!
of blind justice,
thus retributively more equitable
punishing non-mercy
served against irresponsible
angry words
and violently desecrating actions.

Interesting,
I also hear President Biden
passionately praying for “healing” and “unity”
Unity
Unity,
and more silent about punishing justice
held up to public scrutiny
of LeftBrain dominant, Accountability–
not so much RightBrain felt prominent,
CoResponsibility.

Retributive justice of Accountability
is for punishing
the autonomously guilty.

Restorative justice of CoResponsive
Responsibility
is for healing,
and resiliently lasting,
peaceful,
healthy interdependent unity

By divesting of autonomously unEarth-responsive
economic anthrocentric capital gains
and politically privileged responsibility
of patriarchal
capitalistic
military-industrialized
corporate empowered monoculturing supremacy,
anthro-irresponsible intent.

Why is it,
Mr. Editor,
I wonder wander
as I moondrift flow along,

Why is it more important
or realistic
or essential to punish
before moving on to heal:
to set apart and imprison,
to judge
and shame and blame,
before reconsidering unity
through faithful
multicultural dialogue?

This military-first preference
seems to reflect Chief RedCommander
inciting rhetoric
echoing Hitler’s strengths
of hate and violence
and deadening threat
of powerful justice
developing full-throttle
exclusively through our patriotic
overpowering position
of autocratic STRENGTH!

To hold the Alien EcOther
revengefully Accountable.

Actually,
as I dimly recall
my own unfortunate experiences with punishment
and healing warmth restoring healthier wealth
of personal political empowering responsibility,
nonviolent communication
includes inviting proactive practice
of compassionate therapy
through restorative justice,
pursuing multicultural pace
of EarthPeace,

More polytheistically matriarchal
than monoculturally
LeftBrain soulless solely Accountable
for missing opposite experience opportunities
more typically therapeutic
and conveniently,
even co-responsibly,
CoOperative Truths
building healthy democratic Trust.

I’m thinking I learn more powerfully
not from Strength, but uncapitalized weakness,
fluidity,

empowering eco-political responsibility

by exploring my own disconnected woundedness

New MLK Day Revolutions

I have heard almost nothing about New Year Resolutions
this pandemic year;

Although personal sound waves are filled
replete with incomplete invitations
to take better health care
of personal
and social
and economic
and democratic
and public
and green climate nonviolent communication
wealth optimization

As we move post-millennially
and relentlessly,
perhaps as inevitably
as any self-fulfilling NewYear resolute expectation,
standing win/win apart
from ambiguous anticipation thoughts
with anxious feelings,
foreboding fore-tidings,
Right/Left
affective/cognitive dissonance;
fading resonance.

I have,
in this last pre-MLK week,
noticed an upsurge in human striving voices
invoking dark,
globally embarrassing, humor
and gratitude
for President BullHorn
for straight white male persuading
large majorities of Earth’s citizens,
red and green and yellow and orange,
black and mostly white patriarchally privileged
LeftBrain violently red dominant
RightWing wounded and terrifying,

To NewYear discontinue an elitist direction
we don’t want to continue pursuing,
extracting without explicitly agreeing
to democratically forego our constitutional commitment
to a healthy resilient multicultural republic
both polyculturally healthy and safe
for now,
and for all foreseeable future regenerations.

Many 2020s new year roaring revolution voices
seem to assume liberal v conservative choices
are limited to:
If one is good
then the other is bad,
opposites;

Appositionally,
demonstrably,
comparatively,
even consensually,
recognized as not true to personal
politically co-invested democratic experience
when we are discussing liberally loving
healthy
cooperative communication
and conservatively co-investing
in globally resilient public health
and climate WholeEarth safety.

Liberal left wings
and conservation right winged,
and all of us who faithfully remain
middling muddling in-between,
resolve closer to consensually green healing
than viral and climatic punishing pandemics,
ego-inside and eco-outside
our bilaterally integral sensory bodies,

We are
and often are not
re-transitionally resolved
for personal health
and/or public ecopolitical safety
sacredly cooperative Vocations.

When I feel healthiest and safest,
in this another new year,
in this early decade of Roaring BullHorn 20s,
is when I step outside
to listen for voices
of disenfranchised trees,
scolding squirrels,
babbling brooks,
rippling rivers,
surfing seas,
light conversations
between blue sky and cirrus clouds,
rain on rocks and rolling thunder
anthems

Sung in response to my questions
about what is healthy liberal YangLight
and conservative YintegrityPower?

And what is more Trumpian
nationalist
elitist Republican
pathological would-be autocratic fascism,
worship of richly narcissistic wounded
persons of exorbitant interest,
punishing power,
uninformed dissonant delusions,

Where StraightWhiteMale privileged
capitalist corporate minds
have falsely advertised resilient
and resonant bicameral fortunes
toward nationalistic
militaristic extractive wealth,
not so much durably thriving health
and safety through defensive win/lose strategies
strong pro-active
non-connective
violent colonizing aggressions
for mutual lose/lose
predator/prey assured destruction.

Sometimes Earth’s January voices
seem to predict
and celebrate
full climaxing
resiliently thriving healthy wealth.

Sometimes they warn of wounded and broken
personal and public,
social and political
and economic monocultural
non-MLK celebratory pathology.

But,
most of this NewYear resolving time,
especially when I’m working on MLK-Era
Revolutionary Green Resolutions
for restoring Ego/Earth-balancing Justice,
and WholeEarth Multiculturing Peace,
these nature/spirit,
inside/outside,
ego/eco-voices ignore my quests for wise discernment
because egocentric questions,
provided by past memories and future imagination,
are unworthy of macro-ecosystemic attention.

If the only choice I offer is:
“Should I live in a toxic,
fossil-fuel burning condo
or in a toxic,
fuel-burning trailer park?”

Why would such ancient god and goddess voices
and smells,
sounds and senses,
respond to these unintended wounds
and win/lose competitive broken messes?

Asking for less than wisdom
to always resolve win/win
revolutionary green new era decades
inviting questions and resolutions
exploring
remembering future images
of liberally conserving celebrations.

Mercy’s UnBlind Justice

I suspect mercy may be more resiliently empowering
for optimizing multicultural health
as compared to uniform law
and ordered, cookie-cutter, justice
unresponsive to ubiquitous mitigating circumstances
of unique spaces
and relentlessly changing times.

Mercy recognizes society’s environmental
historical contributions to loss,
to absence of equitable justice
more aware of each individual perpetrator’s responsibility
to society
to family,
to local community

Society’s justice,
without nurturing
restorative mercy,
speaks decontextualized
un-nuanced authority of capital-measured economic systems
including reasonable and fair expectations
of retributive law,
imprisoning neglect
and sometimes violently punishing order.

I wonder if both justice and mercy
improve therapeutic co-arising potency
restoring merciful justice
AND
revising metaphysically just
equitable
reuniting mercy,
co-redemptively resolving
what Earth has positively conjoined
in thoughtful truth
and felt beauty

Breathing,
re-animating,
enspiriting
inspiring nature’s in and out climates
of seasonal development,
undevelopment,
redevelopment,
anti-development,
pro-development,
fractal phases of leftbrain space
mercifully greeting,
halfway meeting,
bilateral rightbrain TaoTime

With merciful multicultural anticipation,
so less competitive room
for monoculturing white justice anxiety.

Grand Old Trump Party

President Trump,
shortly after his singularly smelly election,
declared emphatic comparisons with Elder Republican
Abraham Lincoln.

Early on,
he described Lincoln as his kindred political soul,
admired mentor,
and the former President he was destined to most resemble
in spirit and success;

Presumably not including assassination
causing an abrupt end to his second term in office,
won by a landslide–
even if mainly because the ancestors of many Trump loyalists
were not in a northern political position to vote that year.

More recently,
President Trump,
not one to drop names of people who don’t actually exist
outside his own narcissistic imagination,
relayed the uninvited twitter message,
People tell him,
apparently hoping for the privacy of anonymity,
that he is already the greatest Republican President
in US history,
including Abraham Lincoln,

Who would be so supportive of Trumpian caging of children,
supportive of DT’s mockery
of women,
of people with disabilities,
of those homeless,
of people poor,
criminalized
traumatized by violence…
The list goes on in a remarkably non-Lincolnesque
non-spiritual
unChristian
snarky kind of way.

I imagine the President has heard Lincoln’s observation about trust
so necessary for even a quasi-healthy democracy,

“You can fool all the people
some of the time,
and some of the people
all the time,
but you can’t fool all the people
all the time.”

President Trump isn’t known for being a reader
outside consuming twitter posts
and Fox non-news banners,
but it seems he might have heard,
possibly read,
this Lincoln proverb as a challenge,
or just went with optimizing the promise that he could fool some people
all the time–
good enough for government work.

President Trump made it clear,
even before his Inauguration Day,
that only those people who could appreciate the splendorous beauty
of his naked narcissistic garments and greed would:

  1. get to heaven,
  2. become TrumpMedia empowered
    to hate multiculturally resilient democratic constitutions
    and healthy co-governance systems.

Speaking of aphorisms,
this night of January 6th,
my ecosystemic soul bows to the post-full moonlight
remembering,
“It is always darkest just before dawn.”

I grab onto this hope,
but then realize
Whoever knows this to be true from experience
could only speak this with reassurance
after the first hint of emergent light to the East,
source of sacred light
and EarthlyPower.

Is this as dark as fragile democracy
and patriotic civility must fail
this self-governing experiment?

I can’t quite yet see an Eastern sky of fading stars
although I would love to be vision corrected,
perfected to see light and power
in this climatic polarized time
of win/lose ecopolitical rabidity,
eating our children’s future,
wasting their water
and formerly fertile soil,
and decimating shading fruitful trees.

I can imagine a darker hour.

I can imagine my children
speaking with their grandchildren
about now vanquished land and water mammals,
the improbable kangaroo
and porcupine
and skunk

About former forests of mature trees,
huge plants
strong rooted
and reaching up
and out
much taller than the tallest remaining human;
now aging memories of neighbors lost forever.

Earth’s elder democratic,
healthy,
polycultural,
living biosystems might well survive
our species,

The only one that appears motivated to elect leaders
invested in fooling all the people
all the time,
of ignoring the rights and pleasures,
truths and beauty
of all “lesser” species
and “weaker” people,
now reduced to natural commodities
throughout Earth’s darkest hours.

Violence Separates Us

My senior minister just now
pointed out and in toward Washington
aware of this extraordinary Time.

Violence separates us
from the ordinary
every time,
she speaks from her own experience.

I quickly agree.

Then, notice ways I do not agree
if violence denotes
feelings of violation.

Violence does not separate military time
from ordinary civilian time;
we call that chronic stress disorder,
mental problems,
spiritual issues,
weaponized opposition.

Violence does not separate
poor people
marginalized people
ignored, neglected, and abused species,
animals,
trees,
rivers,
oceans,
soil,
air,
Earth,
from ordinary
Business As Usual Time.

This statement reminds me
of two opposing experiences
in my own life,
white privilege,
where violence is what happens to other people,
and gay male child,
all growed up in a homo-hate environment,
where ordinary violence was about what I deserved
if I were caught
being me.

We want violence to be the exception
to cooperative economics,
nonviolent communication,
restorative EarthJustice politics,
empowerment,
enlightenment experiences
of multicultural healthy wealth,
for all EarthCreatures
and living ecosystems.

Still,
on this dark night
it feels hard to painfully remember
that violence is more exceptional
to ordinary experience
for some Haves
as compared to HaveNots.

Red Green and Blue

Red grows politically angry
about wealthy society’s conspiracy
to keep my ego away
from health’s abundant wealth.

Blue spreads out
economically fearful of anger’s power,
my own loss of leftbrain control,
most times less,
sometimes more
than terrifying competitive victory,
unhealthy monopolization
of light and power,
wealth accumulated
by neglecting
postponing
preempting HaveNot wishes,
accelerating Earth abusive investments
of a powerful
and punishing
highly narcissistic
inhumane
pissed off
judgmentally quivering society,
blatantly unsustainable.

Green ecological relationships
remain hopeful
the conjunction of two polarizing
paralyzing negatives,
anger and fear,
like two negatives
equaling a positive,
will produce healthier wealth,

Not more political envy
and economic greed;
but heavenly peace
and nonviolent EarthJustice.
